Job Summary: The Project Manager/Service Delivery Manager (SDM) is responsible for managing the delivery of Managed Services to customers, ensuring services meet or exceed established SLAs, and maintaining high customer satisfaction. Construction Department
The Construction team is responsible for the management of delivering data centers from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, Development, and Engineering along the way. Construction also works closely with partner contractors to come up with a vertically integrated design and manages these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight. One thing that distinguishes Vantage Data Centers is that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. When compared to external resources, our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.
Position Overview
Vantage is looking for a driven Senior Manager, Project Delivery to facilitate the successful completion of Vantage construction projects on time and within budget under the guidance of the Senior Director, Project Delivery.
The role will be responsible for overseeing the overall Delivery of construction and Capital expenditure works that are undertaken on the KUL Campus Expansion.
Collaboration and integration in the construction lifecycle process is integral to the role. Coordination and translation of requirements from Vantage’s internal subject matter experts ensures long term operational sustainability is preserved while driving towards optimized construction delivery. The Senior Manager, Project Delivery will manage the project delivery, along with external delivery parties (i.e., external PM’s, Quantity Surveyor, Architect and Engineers and consultants as required).
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the delivery of project activities including utility interfacing, budgets, schedules, procurement strategies and ECI interface.
- Act as a leader with vision and drive coordination and integration of internal partners within the project.
- Act as a safety leader while empowering a culture of safety, security and compliance in all aspects of data center commissioning and integration.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as NSD, D&E, Construction, Procurement and Critical Operations to deliver data centers.
Duties
- To implement, and standardize as far as practically possible, Vantage-DC's highest standards of cost, quality and programme control throughout the design, build phase, commissioning and transition phases.
- Lead, implement and review onsite safety management procedures to ensure compliance to all mandatory and industry standards. Lead safety management process in construction, design and handover to operations teams.
- Assist in contract negotiations to determine design and construction programme and costs, while always ensuring that the highest quality of service is procured.
- Identify, track and pursue opportunities to innovate design (in conjunction with the D&E team), de-risk programme, manage budget and project quality delivery.
- Lead and coordinate multiple internal and external consultants for the design, construction and delivery of the data centers.
- Assist in preparation of contracts in conjunction with internal legal counsel and procurement and assist with negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular project review meetings with project and construction consultants and contractors both on and off site and report to the broader project team on a regular basis
- Advise and maintain standards for monitoring design and construction programme, cost control and project information systems to ensure the successful project delivery in conjunction with the project controls support teams.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports based on agreed standard formats that demonstrate and provide accurate information to the Executive Management team regarding projects currently in execution and that they are being managed for a successful outcome (including relevant financial and cash-flow reports).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local permitting and government/local authority regulations.
- Together with local construction and D&E teams, ensure all project plans and information are properly communicated and understood by all relevant Vantage DC staff including costs, design schedules, procurement, construction issues, M&E technical data, construction issues, contractor invoices and payments, funding requirements, change order notifications and any other issues that might materially affect the construction progress of each project.
- Ensure timely resolution of issues and deficiencies and develop and implement contingency plans to recover project costs and schedule slippage when appropriate.
- Ensure the proper and complete handover of completed works to the Vantage DC operations teams.
- Participate in a culture of team work and continuous improvement.
- Regular liaison with MEP consultants, Engineering team and power authorities to ensure correct design and implementation of electricity supply.
- The role will have a strong focus on contractor management and performance, establishing and managing relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring the efficient and seamless delivery of facilities management services to the facilities.
- Ensure Vantage DC policies and procedures are followed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or similar field, or equivalent experience
- 10 to 12 years of experience in a management role required.
- Complex and technical construction experience is required.
- Data Center experience is preferred.
- Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and/or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools like MS Project or P6.
- Experience developing executive level presentations.
- Substantial project management experience preferred with PMP certification.

Construction DepartmentThe Construction team is responsible for the management of delivering data centers from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, Development, and Engineering along the way. Construction also works closely with partner contractors to come up with a vertically integrated design and manages these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. Position OverviewVantage is looking for a driven Senior Manager, Project Delivery to facilitate the successful completion of Vantage construction projects on time and within budget under the guidance of the Senior Director, Project Delivery.
The role will be responsible for overseeing the overall Delivery of construction and Capital expenditure works that are undertaken on the KUL Campus Expansion.
Collaboration and integration in the construction lifecycle process is integral to the role. Coordination and translation of requirements from Vantage’s internal subject matter experts ensures long term operational sustainability is preserved while driving towards optimized construction delivery. The Senior Manager, Project Delivery will manage the project delivery, along with external delivery parties (i.e., external PM’s, Quantity Surveyor, Architect and Engineers and consultants as required).
Essential Job Functions- Lead the delivery of project activities including utility interfacing, budgets, schedules, procurement strategies and ECI interface.
- Act as a leader with vision and drive coordination and integration of internal partners within the project.
- Act as a safety leader while empowering a culture of safety, security and compliance in all aspects of data center commissioning and integration.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as NSD, D&E, Construction, Procurement and Critical Operations to deliver data centers.
Duties
- To implement, and standardize as far as practically possible, Vantage-DC's highest standards of cost, quality and programme control throughout the design, build phase, commissioning and transition phases.
- Lead, implement and review onsite safety management procedures to ensure compliance to all mandatory and industry standards. Lead safety management process in construction, design and handover to operations teams.
- Assist in contract negotiations to determine design and construction programme and costs, while always ensuring that the highest quality of service is procured.
- Identify, track and pursue opportunities to innovate design (in conjunction with the D&E team), de-risk programme, manage budget and project quality delivery.
- Lead and coordinate multiple internal and external consultants for the design, construction and delivery of the data centers.
- Assist in preparation of contracts in conjunction with internal legal counsel and procurement and assist with negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular project review meetings with project and construction consultants and contractors both on and off site and report to the broader project team on a regular basis.
- Advise and maintain standards for monitoring design and construction programme, cost control and project information systems to ensure the successful project delivery in conjunction with the project controls support teams.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports based on agreed standard formats that demonstrate and provide accurate information to the Executive Management team regarding projects currently in execution and that they are being managed for a successful outcome (including relevant financial and cash-flow reports).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local permitting and government/local authority regulations.
- Together with local construction and D&E teams, ensure all project plans and information are properly communicated and understood by all relevant Vantage DC staff including costs, design schedules, procurement, construction issues, M&E technical data, construction issues, contractor invoices and payments, funding requirements, change order notifications and any other issues that might materially affect the construction progress of each project.
- Ensure timely resolution of issues and deficiencies and develop and implement contingency plans to recover project costs and schedule slippage when appropriate.
- Ensure the proper and complete handover of completed works to the Vantage DC operations teams.
- Participate in a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Regular liaison with MEP consultants, Engineering team and power authorities to ensure correct design and implementation of electricity supply.
- The role will have a strong focus on contractor management and performance, establishing and managing relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring the efficient and seamless delivery of facilities management services to the facilities.
- Ensure Vantage DC policies and procedures are followed.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in a management role required.
- Project delivery experience from conceptual to completion required, inclusive of tender management.
- Complex and technical construction experience is required.
- Critical Facilities or Data Center experience is preferred.
- Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and/or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools like MS Project or P6.
- Experience developing executive level presentations.
- Substantial project management experience preferred with PMP certification.
