Requirements

  • Able to work on-site atPermas Medical Centre
  • Diploma or Degree inHospitality Management , Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience inservice or operations management (e.g., hotel, F&B, spa, guest services)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills , with experience leading multi-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills , with the ability to interact professionally with clients, staff, and management
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve operational challenges efficiently
  • Experience in veterinary or healthcare settings is a plus—but not required

The hospital is fully equipped with CT, Endoscopy, Fluoroscopy, ultrasound, 2 x-ray rooms, 3 surgical suites, and a 1.5 T MRI (coming in early 2022). It is 100% specialist owned and operated and offers an impressive chance to work alongside specialists as well as experienced veterinarians and nurses in a happy, positive, team-nurturing environment.

You would be working as part of an experienced team, which will give you an exciting opportunity to fully utilise and develop your skills and gain extensive knowledge of specialist in-patient care.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Provide emergency and critical care to small animals and exotics during scheduled shifts
  2. Attend daily inpatient rounds at the start and end of shifts
  3. Provide consultations for day and night emergency patients
  4. Perform physical exams, diagnostic tests, emergency surgeries, and advanced medical treatments
  5. Perform necessary diagnostics such as TFAST and AFAST ultrasounds, blood tests, radiographs, endoscopies, CT scans, etc.
  6. Review and interpret diagnostic test results
  7. Formulate and perform treatment plans
  8. Stabilize and treat animals in critical condition, addressing trauma, poisoning, and acute illnesses
  9. Prescribe pharmaceuticals based on diagnostic results and physical exam findings
  10. Collaborate with veterinary technicians, support staff, and specialists to deliver quality care
  11. Create and recommend treatment plans for emergency patients
  12. Communicate compassionately with pet owners, explaining treatment options, prognosis, and aftercare
  13. Maintain accurate patient records, including case notes, diagnosis, and treatment plans
  14. Update patient information with latest findings and treatments
  15. Assist with inter-departmental transfers to specialists
  16. Refer cases to referral clinics when appropriate and provide updates and discharge summaries
  17. Handle a high-volume caseload while maintaining professionalism under pressure
  18. Adhere to veterinary ethical standards and medical guidelines
  19. Participate in continuing education to stay current with veterinary advancements
  20. Provide guidance and training to other ECC team members when necessary

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Certificate holder in ECC is an asset
  • Endoscopy/gastroscopy skills are advantageous
  • Veterinary degree recognized by the AVA in Singapore
