The Principal serves as the driving force behind the school’s mission, ensuring sustained alignment with established objectives and goals.
The ideal candidate is a compassionate and seasoned leader, adept at providing educational and emotional support to refugee students, while also excelling in financial oversight and partnership cultivation.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Oversight
- Drive the implementation of strategic plans aligned with the school’s mission, ensuring compliance with educational standards, refugee regulations, and child protection laws.
- Manage daily operations, resource allocation, and stakeholder relationships, acting as the primary liaison with the board, local authorities, and partners.
Financial and Resource Management
- Oversee budgeting, cashflow management, and financial reporting to maintain the school’s financial health.
- Optimise resources and set financial KPIs to ensure long-term sustainability.
Educational Programming and Staff Development
- Lead the development of trauma-informed curricula and innovative educational programmes to support refugee students’ academic and emotional growth.
- Recruit, train, and retain culturally competent staff while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
Student and Community Engagement
- Create programmes addressing students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs, fostering inclusivity and safety.
- Build strong relationships with families and the wider community, promoting engagement and partnerships to support refugee families.
Advocacy, and Visibility
- Represent the school at public events and advocate for the importance of refugee education to enhance visibility and impact.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in educational leadership, preferably with refugee or trauma-informed settings.
- Proven success in budget management
- Experience with English Language Learners and culturally diverse populations.
Skills and Competencies:
- Leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial management.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, language acquisition, and social-emotional learning.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to foster collaboration among stakeholders.
Language Skills:
Proficiency in English required.

DataAnnotation is committed to creating quality AI. Join our team to help train AI chatbots while gaining the flexibility of remote work and choosing your own schedule.
We are looking for a bilingual professional to join our team and teach AI chatbots. You will have conversations in both Malay and English with chatbots in order to measure their progress, as well as write novel conversations in order to teach them what to say.
- This is a full-time or part-time REMOTE position
- You’ll be able to choose which projects you want to work on
- You can work on your own schedule
- Projects are paid hourly, starting at $23+ USD per hour, with bonuses for high-quality and high-volume work
Responsibilities (both in Malay and English):
- Come up with diverse conversations over a range of topics
- Write high-quality answers when given specific prompts
- Compare the performance of different AI models
- Research and fact-check AI responses
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree (completed or in progress)
- Excellent writing and grammar skills
- Strong research and fact-checking skills to ensure accuracy and originality
