How you’ll make an impact

  • You will serve as the main interface to the customer site representatives and local authorities, assist in technical discussions with customers. You will be responsible for the proper implementation and compliance with the site-specific Health, Safety and Environmental Plan.

  • You will ensure detailed construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place, compliant with the Hitachi Energy standards, ensure all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promote health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project, if a situation arise, take the necessary steps to ensure that Hitachi employees and other persons are safe.

  • You will manage the site budget and site costs, prepare accurate cost forecasting, communicate deviations, define mitigation actions to stay within budget and manage and follow subcontract works, claims, payment certificates and the overall performance of our subcontractors.

  • You will ensure the collection and implementation of Lessons Learnt from previous projects and the preparation and distribution of Lessons Learnt from their site to the rest of the organization, ensure all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and the latest revisions are used for the construction work on site.

Your background
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

  • Ability to take the lead and work hands-on to deliver on timely completion / customer expectations safety first - on and off work. Relevant knowledge and experience in the field of HSE and sound knowledge in contracts management and commercial, fair knowledge on high voltage substation commissioning and O&M.

  • Good teamwork, structure, communication, and collaboration skills, good understanding knowledge in schedule management, must be able to review and plan, such as critical path and risk identification and mitigation.

  • Self-motivated who drives all stakeholders internally and external customers, knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Office applications. Able to work on assigned site whenever is required.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.

JOB TITLE: Engineer I - Construction (HVAC)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for the implementation of construction work processes, project procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
  • Ensure subcontractors are working with latest issued documents and drawings. Review IFC documents and resolve discrepancies, raise technical queries for clarifications on IFC deliverables in coordination with field engineering team.
  • Coordinate with Client representative to solve any potential or actual problem across its disciplines as encountered at the project site and liaise with engineering disciplines / project execution team to find alternative and corrective actions.
  • Participate in scoping sessions with subcontractors (awareness of workface planning)
  • Provide support to Planning. Analysis and forecast of the ongoing activities.
  • Plan for the three weeks look ahead schedule to identify jobs that need to be completed and the resources which would be required for deployment for timely completion of the job.
  • Reviews subcontractor deliverables like Fabrication / construction execution plan, procedures/ method statements and other related activities and make sure they are complying to project requirements.
  • Monitor construction productivity & responsible for implementing PPC (Project Production Control i.e. monitor daily construction details and daily progress) in his area.
  • Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures and with the project objectives for safety, quality, productivity, schedule and cost. Provide solutions to subcontractor’s problems in order to achieve the successful execution of the project.
  • Participate in daily progress meetings with subcontractor fabrication works, review the daily progress and identify deviations from planned works and inform immediate supervisor.
  • Orders materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Participate in Go/ NoGo meetings and ensure checklist is completed and approved prior to start of critical activities.
  • Ensure adequate storage and preservation of equipment & bulks before and after installation. Ensure that the material handed over to the Subcontractor is controlled, preserved, and issued for the intended purpose.
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately. Regularly participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and daily jobsite walks and keep a meticulous record of these.
  • Prepare reports & forecasts relating to construction progress, job manpower forecasts etc.
  • Support in QinC initiative by ensuring subcontractors are Building Right First Time in line with latest IFC, approved ITP’s and in line with codes and standards. Shall be able to generate or modify ITRs/ Check sheets for construction. Ensure subcontractors are maintaining the ITR records in a systematic way
  • Supervises completion of a final punch list. Ensure that all punch items are timely closed.
  • Provide inputs of lessons, constructability issues, best practices in construction Observation Form.
  • Support subcontracts in accurate quantity reporting.
  • Aware of subcontract agreement and challenge every Site Instructions.
  • Shall aid subcontract teams with review of invoice approvals and billing from subcontractors in accordance with BOM utilization.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor for site supervisors.
  • Ensure competency check of construction supervisor and subcontractors, ensure personnel are qualified and competent to perform allocated tasks, have valid certification, where required.

Knowledge & Qualifications:

Discipline Specific - HVAC:

  • Verify installation in line with approved manufacturers installation procedures and project requirements.
  • Ensure the leak test limits and required materials are included on the design drawings when issued IFC, if required.
  • Prepare a detailed HVAC plan for each building based on material delivery dates and Subcontractor resource mobilization.
  • Ensure availability of HVAC components such as Air Handling Unit, other skid mounted units, piping, ducts and supports, dampers, louvers, and insulation
  • Ensure that necessary certifications for materials are available for HVAC components.
  • Review HVAC IFC documents and resolve discrepancies, raise technical queries for clarifications on IFC deliverables in coordination with field engineering team

Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, which facilitate reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimum environmental impact.

We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business' DC and AC fields, including HVDC , Substations , FACTS , Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections , and Semiconductors . We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission distribution and as well as e-transportation solutions.

The PGGI Site Manager main responsibility to lead all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning phases. In this position, you will serve as the point of contact for Customer, contractors and be expected to liaise between Team members and management. You must possess strong organizational and communication skills and work proficiently both individually and in teams.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will be fully responsible and monitor all site activity, plans project on-site activities with Project Manager including management of the site personnel and the delivery of the contractual requirements, coordinate and drive the performance of the Site Works / operations in accordance with the Contract; ensure the fulfilment of the contractual deliverables within the defined schedule, cost effective, with the utmost importance to Quality, Health and Safety as per Hitachi energy standards.
  • You will serve as the main interface to the customer site representatives and local authorities, assist in technical discussions with customers.
  • You will be responsible for the proper implementation and compliance with the site-specific Health, Safety and Environmental Plan.
  • You will ensure detailed construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place, compliant with the Hitachi Energy standards, ensure all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project, if a situation arise, take the necessary steps to ensure that Hitachi employees and other persons are safe.
  • You will manage the site budget and site costs, prepare accurate cost forecasting, communicate deviations, define mitigation actions to stay within budget and manage and follow subcontract works, claims, payment certificates and the overall performance of our subcontractors.
  • You will ensure the collection and implementation of Lessons Learnt from previous projects and the preparation and distribution of Lessons Learnt from their site to the rest of the organization, ensure all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and the latest revisions are used for the construction work on site.

Your background:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as Site Manager role for high voltage installations /electrical construction site/substation.
  • Ability to take the lead and work hands-on to deliver on timely completion / customer expectations Safety first - on and off work. Relevant knowledge and experience in the field of HSE and sound knowledge in contracts management and commercial, fair knowledge on high voltage substation commissioning and O&M.
  • Good teamwork, structure, communication, and collaboration skills, good understanding knowledge in Schedule management, must be able to review and plan, such as critical path and risk identification and mitigation.
  • Self-motivated who drives all stakeholders internally and external customers, knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
  • Able to work on assigned site whenever is required

Key responsibilities:

  1. Handle full set of accounts of the assigned companies, includes general accounting, account receivable, account payable, tax and treasury and ensure the financial reports are prepared on an accurate and timely manner.
  2. Review/prepare schedules for development costs, progress billings, redemption sum and debtors.
  3. Responsible for preparation of tax estimation and schedules for assigned companies accounts.
  4. Assist in Group financial reporting including monthly consolidation, management reporting and annual report.
  5. Assist in various accounting matters, statutory reporting requirements, annual budget and forecasts.
