Micron’s Legal Department is poised for growth and innovation, and we are seeking an Associate General Counsel to support our Global Operations – Construction and Real Estate team as we move to the next level. Reporting to our Global Head of Real Estate, Construction, and Utilities, this role will support Micron’s expansion in multiple locations in the Asia Pacific.This role will work closely with our procurement, construction, facilities, real estate, and utility teams to draft, negotiate, and administer contracts required by Micron's business and operations. This role requires a deep understanding of large construction projects from initiation through final completion; a growth mindset; and the ability to oversee and support multiple simultaneous projects. This role is for you if you are not only passionate about construction and real estate, but passionate about being part of a forward-looking team and making a difference. This role is based in Penang, Malaysia.
What You’ll Do
- Provide proactive strategic advice and guidance to internal teams regarding business and legal issues and risks within the construction and real estate realm
- Draft, negotiate, and process complex construction, real estate, facilities, utility, and other contracts
- Serve as a key resource supporting Micron’s Asia Pacific manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites, including both construction and real estate
- Represent Micron legally in construction and real estate interactions and disputes with suppliers/vendors/contractors, while balancing the business interests of clients with the ultimate fiduciary responsibility to the company
- Bachelor Degree in Law or any other equivalent studies.
- Licensed attorney in Malaysia
- 7-10 years’ experience in the practice of commercial and contract law, with an emphasis on construction and real estate
- Experience with large development/construction projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, demonstrate diplomacy, and otherwise interact well with colleagues and management
- Highly disciplined with the ability to make independent decisions and work with limited supervision while excelling in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work product
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle and advance multiple projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus (but not required)

- Liaise with other disciplines in the execution of work.
- Assist the site subcontractors in the resolution of drawing interpretation.

- Monitor calibration status and condition of Inspection/ Test and Measuring instruments.
- Ensures closure of all RFIs and related inspection/ test records (ITRs) immediately after successful completion of each inspection with minimum/ no punchlist.
- Monitor completion of system/sub system in his area based on previously forecasted ITRs.
- Ensure that all punch items are closed on timely basis and assist in commissioning plan.
- Attend subcontract/cost awareness sessions and understand the Responsibility matrices, BOQ & preambles of subcontract. Shall provide assistance to subcontract teams on payment and invoice clearance in accordance with the BOQ and guide/manage sub-contractor change requests by complete assessment of works in the interest of the company within the framework of the subcontract.
- Ensure quantity reporting is establish and reported accurately.
- Challenge every Site Instruction based on Ts and Cs and assess cost impact prior to approval. Be aware of contract Ts & Cs of the subcontractor and scope of responsibilities.
- Conduct a review of all Site Instructions & Variation Orders (issued, approved, rejected) with Subcontracts Manager on monthly basis. Keep evidence of changes requested.
- Immediately report any cost affecting inspection results to discipline lead and also highlight to engineering. Ensure all design changes are captured by the change control process.
- Coordinate with Subcontractor to timely closure of Non-conformances NCR, Corrective actions (CAR), Daily surveillance (DSR) and Quality Walkthrough, Construction Observation Form (COF) findings.
- Ensure competency check of construction supervisor and subcontractors, ensure personnel are qualified and competent to perform allocated tasks, have valid certification, where required, for the techniques in use.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- 8+ Civil and Structural Engineering experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/ FSU), Middle East, and/ or North Africa.
- Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce.
Skills & Competencies:
- Good communications skills
- Familiar with International codes and standards (BS, ASTM, ACI etc.), concrete/ asphalt mix designs, laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, earth works and grouting
- Must have working knowledge and interpretation skills of building sectional/reinforcement and structural steel drawings

Shall provide assistance to subcontract teams on payment and invoice clearance in accordance with the BOQ and guide/manage sub-contractor change requests by complete assessment of works in the interest of the company within the framework of the subcontract.
- Ensure quantity reporting is establish and reported accurately.
- Challenge every Site Instruction based on Ts and Cs and assess cost impact prior to approval. Be aware of contract Ts & Cs of the subcontractor and scope of responsibilities.
- Conduct a review of all Site Instructions & Variation Orders (issued, approved, rejected) with Subcontracts Manager on monthly basis. Keep evidence of changes requested.
- Immediately report any cost affecting inspection results to discipline lead and also highlight to engineering. Ensure all design changes are captured by the change control process.
- Coordinate with Subcontractor to timely closure of Non-conformances NCR, Corrective actions (CAR), Daily surveillance (DSR) and Quality Walkthrough, Construction Observation Form (COF) findings.
- Ensure competency check of construction supervisor and subcontractors, ensure personnel are qualified and competent to perform allocated tasks, have valid certification, where required, for the techniques in use.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- 8+ Civil and Structural Engineering experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/ FSU), Middle East, and/ or North Africa.
- Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce.
- Good communications skills
- Familiar with International codes and standards (BS, ASTM, ACI etc.), concrete/ asphalt mix designs, laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, earth works and grouting
- Must have working knowledge and interpretation skills of building sectional/reinforcement and structural steel drawings
- Has knowledge and experience to solve civil, building, structural issues onsite and provide guidance to subcontractors.
- Trained in lifting and scaffolding supervision (preferred).

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion, fully based on-site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineering, or Architecture , with proven experience managing large-scale construction projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project to ensure timely delivery, cost control, quality assurance, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
- Act as the primary point of contact on-site for all stakeholders including consultants, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams and manage site operations to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to budget, timelines, specifications, and safety standards.
- Review and validate drawings, technical submissions, and work programs.
- Conduct regular site meetings, prepare progress reports, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensure all works comply with statutory requirements, local authority guidelines, and company quality and safety policies.
- Resolve site-related technical and coordination issues promptly and effectively.
- Mentor and supervise site teams including junior project managers, engineers, and supervisors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, M&E Engineering, Architecture , or related disciplines.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in construction project management, preferably in mixed-discipline developments.
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods, M&E systems, and architectural coordination.
- Proven track record in managing mid-to-large-scale construction projects with on-site leadership.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with construction software tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, BIM, etc.) is an advantage.
- Willingness to be fully based on-site for the duration of the project.
Preferred Qualities:
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience in managing projects within residential & commercial sectors.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
