Provide strategic leadership and oversee all nursing operations within the healthcare facility to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while managing and developing the nursing staff.
Job Descriptions- Organize, direct and coordinate with the other services in the Facility to ensure smooth workflow to always facilitate the continuity of safe and quality patient care; whilst achieving optimal client satisfaction.
- Perform daily unit/ward rounds to visit patients in the wards when possible, conduct random night rounds, monitor progress of patients (especially post-operative and critical patients), be informed of potential litigation cases, visit patients following adverse events, evaluate nursing care rendered, advise Unit Manager/Nurse-In-Charge where and when necessary, and advise Deputy CNO/NM on situational problems encountered on site.

- Attend ward/unit meetings as an advisor to improve the unit’s operations/services.

- Participate in Heads of Services (HOS) meetings chaired by CEO/GM/OM; work towards common goals.
- Monitor daily 24-hour nursing reports for significant incidents; follow up visits, deploy staff to busy units, or render assistance as required.
- Submit monthly nursing service reports (nursing statistics, performances, activities, improvements, and achievements) to the Group Chief Nursing Officer and CEO/GM for service updates.
- Monitor, follow up closely and report any adverse events within 24 hours to KPJ Head Office, Group Chief Nursing Officer, and relevant parties for timely resolutions.
- Participate in recruitment, interviews and selection of nursing staff to ensure appropriate manpower for optimal capability and competency.
- Review and monitor key orientation programs for new staff to ensure alignment with policies, SOPs and work requirements.
- Create and maintain a conducive working environment that encourages quality patient care and patient/staff satisfaction.

- Collaborate with ward staff to ensure patients arrive at the OT on time, thereby optimizing the utilization of the OT.
- Adhere to Patient Safety Goals; Save Surgery Save Live involves accurately identifying patients, preparing them for procedures, checking patients with staff, noting abnormalities, and referring patients to the surgeon and anesthetist if necessary.

- Carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994: To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons, to co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty, to wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer and comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Nurse with valid Annual Practicing Certificate from Nursing Board of Malaysia
- Bachelor of nursing
- Any post basic in nursing that is recognized by Nursing Board of Malaysia
- Preferably hold a master’s degree or enroll in a master’s program within two years of promotion
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as Nursing leaders
