Job Overview:

The Principal Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex HVAC Engineering-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. The Principal Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in Mechanical Engineering-HVAC. As such, they must have in-depth expertise as well as broad knowledge of the HVAC-Mechanical discipline within the Engineering function.

Proficient in HVAC engineering, design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a Mcdermott project and/or specific complex deliverables pertaining to HVAC engineering. Work includes, among other things, HVAC studies, cost and planning inputs, layouts, heat load calculations, P&IDs, D&IDs, specification development and supervising and ensuring successful execution of HVAC subcontract.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering
• 15-20 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
• Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable
• Seasoned structural knowledge
• Very good organizer, motivator, and supervisor
• Able to solve problems without assistance
• Keen on improving the effectiveness of the work
• HSE, TQM and cost-conscious
• Fluent in the English language
• Understanding and supporting company goals and work processes
• Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:
• The reassignment to other McDermott offices
• The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays
• The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also other projects) when possible/desirable

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and Design as per Design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards
• Apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and nonstandard situations
• Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures
• Manage own time to meet objectives and (as Lead Engineer) forecast and plan resource requirements
• Clearly communicate and explain difficult concepts and persuade others to adopt a point of view
• When acting as Lead Engineer, in addition:
• Direct small or medium Mechanical Engineering team as a Lead Engineer
• Lead the Discipline engineering design of the assigned work area and completed within the planned schedule and budget, in accordance with standards, MDR, and project-specific procedures and to a high professional standard
• Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of Discipline execution on the assigned project, including scope, deliverables, schedule, and all workforce resources - agree on allocations with the Discipline Manager
• Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearly identified
• Maintain responsibility for progress and productivity, identifying any required corrective action
• Act as project representative for the discipline during meetings with the Project Team, Customer discipline lead, and relevant agencies such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develops tender specification and cost estimates for mechanical design related items to support tender and quotation activities.
• Collaborate with sales team to secure new projects. Communicate effectively with customer;
• Collaborate with project teams and departments and gauge mechanical detail design of various projects to ensure project completion in time;
• Forecast and oversees engineering resources allocation for support on tender and project execution;
• Reviewing engineering work for technical accuracy, costing accuracy and meeting technical requirements;
• Provide technical leadership and raise competence of the detail engineering discipline;
• Supervise and lead a group of Senior and Junior Engineers; manage and assign task to engineers; provide clear and concise instruction to engineering and technical teams;
• Identify and contacting potential technology partners to enhance and complement Tialoc capability;
• Hire, supervising, training and mentoring new employees; making determination for staff training needs and talent development;
• Establishment of an Engineering Knowledge Database (including optimization of engineering standards and formats and optimization of engineering / technical library);
• Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of mechanical engineering design, reducing project cost and meet customer’s expectations;
• Attend and participate company trade shows and conferences; and make sites visits and supplier’s facilities;
• Maintain high level expertise in their field or sector.
• Any other tasks as assigned by superior from time to time.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical / Process / Mechanical Engineering

Working Experience:

• Require minimum 10 years’ experience and excellent knowledge in Process or Detail Design Engineering for ultrapure water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment or off gas pollution abatement system.
• Proven supervisory and technical skills

Professional Requirement:

• Expert-level knowledge of sector relevant technology and processes
• Strategic and critical thinking in problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented and ability to pay attention to details;
• Good knowledge of both local and international codes, standards and regulations;
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Application such as Excel, Words & PowerPoint;
• Proficiency using presentation software to explain engineering design to customers;

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Critical Services Manager, the Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the mechanical infrastructure and systems of our hyperscale data centres. RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanical System Management:

• Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within the data centres.
• Ensure all mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, and fire suppression systems, operates reliably and efficiently.
• Implement and maintain mechanical safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with shift teams to ensure seamless 24/7 coverage and effective handovers between shifts.
• Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations to enhance team capabilities and productivity.

Maintenance and Upgrades:

• Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all mechanical equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.

Safety and Compliance:

Technical Support:
