Job Description

Job Overview:

The Associate Subsea Engineer will be supporting FEED/EPCIC projects with engineering activities related to shallow water and deepwater subsea pipeline lateral buckling analysis, pipeline walking analysis, fracture mechanics and 3D structural analysis. This position is within the Advance Analysis team and requires someone who is analytically minded with strong engineering skills to perform numerically intensive calculations. Learns the content and application of relevant industry codes, standards, guidelines, design methods and analysis.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks related to Subsea Engineering tasks for installation of offshore facilities including jackets and topsides
  • Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring.
  • Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
  • Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others.
  • Tender engineering support with emphasis on document review, assist with the preparation of subcontractor documents, bid evaluation and vendor selection.
  • Assist senior engineers with preparation of technical reports, design calculations, engineering analysis and interface with third parties including subcontractors and verification bodies.
  • Required to attend and prepare for project progress meetings and departmental meetings.
  • Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements.
  • Prepare sketches of detail design to guide Designers and check drawings.
  • Keep the Area Lead/ Lead Engineer apprised of all activities, progress and concerns.
  • Develop an awareness of costs related to own work.
  • Develop basic understanding of McDermott's business and customers it serves.
  • Develop basic knowledge of McDermott's business units and interactions including engineering, fabrication and marine functions.
  • Develop advanced skills in use of standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understand and apply standards and procedures.
  • Capture project lessons learned into McDermott’s Lessons Learned system.
  • Participate in internal, customer or third-party technical audits on engineering deliverables and vendor documents.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural or Marine Engineering
  • Exposure to finite element analysis packages (Abaqus, ANSYS)
  • Good knowledge in programing skills (Python, VBA or C++) is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail and the ability to think outside the box for innovative solutions

This job is about being the Head of Finance, where you'll lead everything financial! You might like this job because you’ll ensure money matters, manage budgets, and collaborate with auditors and banks, shaping the company's financial health.

Responsibilities
  1. Functions primarily as Head of the Finance department of the company, responsible for financial, tax and internal controls and process matters of the company.
  2. Lead the Finance Department in handling finance related matters in compliance with the relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  3. Implementation of internal controls in relation to finance matters.
  4. Liaison with auditors, tax authorities, bankers, etc.
  5. Oversee and coordinate financial reporting, closing, budgeting and forecasting across company's divisions.
  6. Oversee Procurement Department.
  7. Monitor and control all expenses by each department and division to be in line with the approved budget.
  8. Prepare cash flow on a weekly basis and monitor company's cash flow.
  9. Monitor daily bank transactions.
  10. Ensure the cash advances are properly administered and reconciled.
  11. Monitor Account Payable (payment) and Account Receivable (collections). Monitor on the monthly budget form (Purchase order) and monitor AR tracker and collections on weekly basis. Ensure payments for EPF, Socso, Incometax, Tabung Haji, Zakat, Bank Rakyat and HRDF are on time, subject to receipt of information from Human Resource Department. Ensure Withholding Tax payments are made on time.
  12. Ensure service tax payments are made to Customs on time.
  13. Check and verify Purchase Orders.
  14. Coordinate preparation of annual financial report and relevant schedules for Auditors.
  15. Prepare tax estimates and yearly tax computation.
  16. Prepare the transfer pricing workings and schedules.
  17. Review draft audited financial report from auditors, tax computations/returns from tax agent and transfer pricing report from transfer pricing advisers.
  18. Review data captured in accounting date system (Oracle Netsuite Accounting System).
  19. Monitor bank covenants, term loan disbursement and other bank facilities.
  20. Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
Job Requirements
  1. Degree / Professional Degree in Accounting / Finance.
  2. Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants or equivalent.
  3. At least 10 years of working experience in finance with 3 years in managerial capacity. Experience in management reporting, costing, budgeting and forecasting. Experience in consolidation, banking and financing will be an advantage. Detail and result-oriented.
  4. Able to lead, manage and guide the finance team in meeting their responsibilities. Good understanding of financial, tax reporting and statutory requirements and applicable accounting standards.
  5. Good in English communication and writing skills.
