Engineer is responsible to support production to ensure smooth production operations to meet and fulfil the requirements of production plan, quality standards and organization set productivity. He/ She is to assist superior in identifies gaps and assess risk analysis for processes and procedures as well as any new and/ or existing standard requirements to ensure full compliance of all standard requirements such as Alcon Health Safety and Environment Standards, Alcon Code of Business Conducts, ISO, GMP, AFCM and FDA regulations. To train and maintain the competent of staff that fosters a team environment. Support as ISRM coordinator.
- To establish additional training materials/ evaluation documents as well as re-view and revise existing training materials/ evaluation documents to improve and enhance competency, awareness, understanding and efficiency of staff.
- Responsible for training of the entire team, monitor and maintain departmental staff Plateau training without overdue to ensure the team always conduct daily tasks with latest procedures.
- To perform routine check and review all sort of documents, process observation, material management in terms of FEFO (including SAP transaction), safety practices to ensure the sustainability of high level performance in the implementation and compliance of all standard requirements at all time as the readiness of audit preparedness as well as provide timely and constructive feedback to superior.
- To perform trending analysis for all formulations on-going process.
- Establish engineering study protocol (ESP) and report writing (ESR) with the purpose of investigation.
- Conduct online trouble shooting, investigation and problem solving for any issues related to Chemical Production and follow up for any issues related to Chemical Production and follow through NCR and CAPA procedure accordingly.
- To support smooth production operations by pigment qualification, cleaning verification, retest material coordination, use test or application test on materials, any Special Build Run (SBR) from all departments with protocols and availability of ceramic jar & beads (including condition of new jar and retirement for ageing jar).
- Ensure the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all materials are always up-to-date i.e. with its validity period
- Responsible to perform annual review for HIRARC, PPE Assessment, Aspect & Impact and FMEA.
- Responsible to review, maintain and manage IMTE for all equipment.
- To support the control and monitoring of consumable items usage and raise purchase requisition for any purchase.

Malayan Fish Oil ) is a fish oil refinery based in PKFZ Westport. Among the processes in our factory include degumming, neutralisation and esterification. We have our own inhouse lab with GC machine, oven, and other specialised equipment, to test EPA/DHA values, anisidine, iodine, peroxide value, and moisture.
We require aspiring chemical engineering students, especially those who want to work on process engineering and those who want to work on laboratory analysis. All interns will be guided. Some of the typical duties and responsibilities include:
Quality Control (QC):
- Conduct lab testing for incoming, in-process, and outgoing fish oil samples, including Acid Value (AV), Peroxide Value (PV), Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) & Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA)
- Operate and maintain the GC machine for fatty acid analysis.
- Optimize laboratory testing procedures for Iodine Value (IV) parameter.
- Assist in the establishment of ISO 17025 accreditation for the laboratory.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure proper data reporting.
- Analysing and monitoring our processes to minimise waste and increase the quality of finished products.
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Verify and report compliance of internal and external lab results with import and export specifications.
- Ensure proper filing and traceability of import and export shipping records.
- Assist in maintaining HACCP and GMP documentation, particularly for new foreign workers.
