Job Description
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- To support company goals, policies and objectives, and also plant-wide, departmental Key Performance Indicators and metrics.
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing in the areas of assembly, customer service, planning, Internal Project Management and quality control.
- Work closely in a team to interpret corporate documentation and other reference materials to determine manufacturing requirements and processing procedures on new or revised part numbers.
- Build product structures (BOM) and routing in Oracle.
- Resolve / fix manufacturing / assembly problems encountered in the shop floor.
- Provide support for new product introduction include equipment set up and training to the assemblers.
- Develop the necessary work procedures and provide or co-ordinate the training for the operators and supervisors.
- Work closely with the ESH team to achieve high level of Environmental, Safety, Health standards.
- Responsible for collaboration with other Actuation Technologies manufacturing sites.
- Good understanding of control valve functions and able to demonstrate assembly procedures.
- Hands-on experience and ability to tackle issues in valve assembly and calibration.
- Skilled in developing fixtures and tooling.
- Effective communicator with the ability to support smooth day-to-day operations and teamwork.
- Exhibit drafting application skills and techniques.
- Knowledge of material characteristics and capable of interpreting manufacturing and engineering source documents.
- Experience in a mechanical assembly manufacturing environment.
- Physical tasks include frequent reaching with hands and arms.
- Test & Automation knowledge will be advantage
- Proficient in Root Cause Analysis tools such as FMEA, 5 Whys, and implementing effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 3 years experiences in a similar manufacturing environment with ability to evaluate and execute the requirements on manufacturing documentation and procedure development.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written (English Language), and project management

OVERVIEW
- Responsible for the Plant and Process department breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and improvement projects. The incumbent is to ensure reliability and effectiveness of all functions and operations activities of plant’s mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation engineering activities, including troubleshooting, modifications, repair and improvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing process costs and overall equipment efficiency within plant.
- Implementing policies, standards, and procedures for engineering, technical work and implementation of ISO 9001/GMP requirements
- Directing and coordinating engineering tasks within plant.
- Identifying and implementing operational excellence projects.
- Implementing and executing equipment preventive maintenance program.
- Plan, manage and control plant mechanical, electrical, automation, control, and instrumentation engineering activities, which includes engineering design, engineering improvements, technology management and maintenance of engineering systems.
- Lead the team in plant maintenance to ensure equipment are maintain according to standards and any plant machinery or equipment breakdown is attended to promptly and properly.
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money within budget. Manage capital expenditure projects that includes planning, budget control, projects schedules, etc.
- Develop, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing technologies and operational excellence projects in plant & process and control & instrumentation systems.
- Review and ensure good operational effectiveness of existing processes and work practices related to management and maintenance of plant.
- Derive, monitor and control departmental budget and ensure department objectives are met.
- Manage the engineering department and ensure department objectives are met.
- Develop and manage maintenance management system that includes preventive and predictive maintenance, parts inventory control, control of maintenance cost, manpower control, etc.
- Work out the plans to achieve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and ensure downtime and/or rejection are minimal.
- Liaise with other departments/ plants for standardization or critical work execution.
- Ensure activities carried out by solely or jointly with other divisions observe good health and safety standards.
- Always adhere to and enforce company rules, policies, and regulations.
- Carry out routine walkabout and site inspection to ensure good housekeeping and identify potential breakdown or continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronic Engineering/ Control & Instrumentation or equivalent.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of working experience in engineering/ maintenance.
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
- Engineering Division's policies and procedures i.e. people, operations, and budgeting
- Regulatory and compliance procedures related to operations and Industrial standards (ISO requirements)
- Programmable Logic Control (PLC), SCADA, AutoCAD.
- Manufacturing technologies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Industry 4.0 (IOT/Automation)
- Operational excellence principles and tools (e.g. Value streams, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma)
- Tools involved in resource planning & execution and time study and manpower utilization calculation
- Problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.

You will be reporting directly to the Insurance Exchange CTO, while managing a group of squad leads.
You will be responsible for…
Coaching and supervising squad leads, assisting them to achieve maximum efficiency and sustained throughput.
Guiding teams while solving complex problems, ensuring scalable, resilient, and optimized solutions are implemented.
Promoting best practices adoption across teams, from software design patterns to optimized architectures, coaching the squad leads and associated teams to improve quality continuously.
Enforcing consistency across all squads, ensuring strategic approaches are well defined and shared amongst all team members while promoting continuous compliance with adopted patterns and engineering practices.
Promoting group-level service reuse, by ensuring services are built for reuse, mapped to well-defined bounded contexts, and properly exposed to facilitate adoption.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and economical operation of the Engineering Department, supporting all other operating departments, supplying services as required, and maintaining equipment, building, and grounds in optimal condition.
Qualifications- Ideally with a University Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or Building Management.
- Minimum 3 years work experience as Engineering Manager in a larger operation.
- Technical knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration systems, fire main systems, sprinklers, water/waste treatment, or hydraulics is advantageous.
- Good problem-solving, administrative, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Possess B0 Chargeman certification from Suruhanjaya Tenaga is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English is required; knowledge of a second language is helpful.
- Due to Malaysian Immigration and Manpower regulations, this position is open to Malaysian Nationals only.

Position Requirement:
- Candidate with graduate degree or higher with Mechanical & Electronic Engineering background.
- Work Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in cable assembly (or optoelectronics field/industry), with 2 years or more of management experience preferred.
- Major: Mechanical and electronics related majors (or optoelectronics majors, industries)
- Training ISO9000, ITF16949, ISO13485, Project Management
- Expertise: Familiarity with industry standards related to cable assembly (or optoelectronics), understanding of production processes, and a solid understanding of mold and fixture design.
- Professional Skills: Experience in electronics processing, interface technology, SI principles, and cable assembly.
- Quality: Ability to withstand pressure and be honest and upright.
- Abilities: Possess innovation, coordination, communication, analytical and judgment abilities, etc.
- Good communication skills in both oral and written (fluent in Mandarin will be advantageous)
Position Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement annual goals and indicators for the Engineering Department according to the company's strategy and goals;
- Responsible for technical assistance, content confirmation and approval of product drawings, BOM, quotation sheets and other related technical materials
- Lead the solution of technical problems encountered in customer design and promote effective communication between engineering and customers
- Responsible for personnel management including recruitment, training, appointment, job adjustment, performance indicator establishment and evaluation of all personnel in the Engineering Department
- Responsible for communication and coordination within and outside the department, and maintaining good relations with other departments
- Responsible for the formulation, optimization, review and execution of work processes
- Hold engineering department meetings from time to time to convey and implement the company's spirit, principles, and policies
- Responsible for resource scheduling, processing coordination, data collection, progress control, etc. of other projects
