Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Electrical Engineer to support our contract manufacturing partners across multiple sites in Penang and Bangkok. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge in hardware, signal integrity, debugging at board and system levels, yield improvement, resolving design issues to ensure high-quality products and continuous process optimization. This role requires onsite support at manufacturing locations, working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers to drive improvements in test performance and product reliability.

  • Provide onsite electrical engineering support at contract manufacturing sites in Penang (Mainland and Island) and Bangkok.
  • Debug and analyze test failures, yield issues, and product design issues to drive continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with design, process, quality, supply line, and hardware engineering teams to resolve product and test-related issues.
  • Lead and work with contract manufacturers to identify and implement corrective actions for process deviations.
  • Monitor and analyze yield trends, test metrics, MTBF data, and failure patterns to proactively address potential risks.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) transfer, part qualification work, and software qualification work at manufacturing sites.
  • Train and support contract manufacturing teams in debugging methodologies, test procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Initiate meetings and work closely with the USA/Costa Rica engineering team on technical issues.
  • Maintain test procedures, create ECNs or deviations for design changes.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in test failure analysis, debugging, and root cause identification.
  • Excellent in digital and analog circuit theory and knowledge.
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE), board-level test systems, and ICT/functional testers.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, data mining tools, and yield improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in using lab instruments (DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzers, VNAs, SMUs).
  • Familiarity with circuit design, RF testing, power electronics, or semiconductor test processes is a plus.
  • Software programming experience and knowledge of Teradyne SOC/ETS system is a plus.
  • Eagerness to learn new things, strong self-discipline, and motivation skills.
  • Flexible working at multiple time zones and travel between Penang manufacturing sites, and occasionally to Bangkok for technical support

The Signal and Power Integrity Engineer will play a critical role in the planning of digital PCB designs, simulation, lab verification, and troubleshooting signal integrity issues on completed designs. They will also be expected to help with design review of critical PCBs for signal integrity concerns. Good communications skills and ability to work with global teams is required.

The incumbent develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed. Provide support throughout the manufacturing of the electrical systems they have designed.

This role works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. (LI-CT1)

Detailed Description

• 3D passive channel modeling, perform extraction by using electromagnetic tools.

• Perform signal integrity pre-layout and post-layout analysis in R&D phase.

• Perform static timing and signal integrity analysis of parallel (common clock, source- • synchronous) interfaces.

• Design and analysis of multi-gigabit serial links, including lab verification and tuning.

• Perform power integrity analysis on power delivery network.

• Generate and verify PCB layout rules, manage constraints for PCB layout.

• Work directly with ASIC and PCB design teams to evaluate design tradeoffs and optimize design performance / risk / cost / manufacturability.

• Cooperate with R&D team and signal test engineers on debugging, failure analysis and fixing issues discovered during test.

• Familiar with SAS, PCIe, DDR4/5, 25G/56G Ethernet specification is a plus.

• Experience with at least one PCB post-route SI tool: Cadence SPECCTRAQuest, Mentor ICX, SiSoft SI-Auditor (preferred), Sigrity Power SI.

• Experience with Synopsys HSPICE and/or Keysight ADS for both time and frequency domain circuit simulation.

• Experience with at least one 3-D field solver (CST Microwave Studio, ANSYS HFSS).

• Experience with TDR and VNA measurements.

• Proficiency in Electromagnetic, Transmission-line & S-parameters theory and modeling.

• Good understanding on power distribution, DDR and SerDes design.

• BSEE or related field with 6 years of applicable work experience or MSEE or related field with 4 years of experience.

• Experience of script languages like VB, Perl or Python.

• Use of mathematic tools like Matlab.

• Strong written and oral communication in English with customer service skills

  • Review, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
  • Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
  • Proactively promote industry best practices
  • May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
  • Research systems ideas and will draw up plans for these systems
  • Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.

About the Role

As the Senior Technical Operations - Electrical, you are responsible to oversee the electrical infrastructure and systems of our regional Data Centers. This role ensures the continuous and efficient operation of electrical systems and ensures the delivery of critical electrical services 24/7. Ensuring the optimal availability of our technical services and electrical assets throughout their lifecycle, taking into consideration health, safety, environment, costs, investments, and customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical systems within the Data Centers.
  • Ensure all electrical infrastructures, including power distribution units (PDU), UPS, Generators, Switchgears and Transformers are operating reliably and efficiently.
  • Assist in the review and approval of RAMS (risk assessment and method statement) by contractors performing work in our facilities.
  • Develop standardized procedures for the maintenance, modifications, inspections, and drills of electrical systems, continuously optimizing and updating them based on on-site conditions.
  • Participate fully in the testing and verification of Data Center electrical systems, identifying any issues during testing and verification, and promptly resolving any discovered problems.
  • To assess potential risks in the Data Center and develop a remediation plan.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems, maintenance activities, and perform audits for maintenance activities.
  • Conduct technical communication with the D&C team, gather relevant requirements from the operations and maintenance (O&M) team, and convey these needs to the D&C team.
  • Review and evaluate the D&C team’s design plans, identify associated risks, and provide actionable recommendations for solutions.
  • Engage in technical communication with OEMs, leveraging relevant technical skills to address equipment risks on site.
  • Collaborate and communicate across teams to ensure site stability.
  • Compose the YOPs requirement for electrical system.
  • Support other APAC sites in maintaining technical alignment with Yondr's global standards.
  • Willing to travel within short notice if required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, experience would be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience (with 5+ years of experience working in Data Centers and/or critical environments preferred).
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the design, maintenance, and operations of electrical systems in critical environments, preferably Data Centers.
  • Experienced in the delivery of highly complex technical projects.
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results oriented, highly accountable, and strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to understand the big picture.
  • Ability to perform through change and transformation while adapting to shifting priorities.

Job Title: Electrical Consulting Engineer

Location: Petaling Jaya (Project sites across Klang Valley)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Responsibilities:
  • Electrical & ELV System Design: Design Electrical and ELV services, including Earthing, Lightning Protection, and Security Systems, in compliance with UBBL and relevant standards.
  • Project Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical works, ensuring alignment with project budgets.
  • Authority Liaison: Coordinate with statutory authorities for approvals and regulatory compliance.
  • Project Coordination & Meetings: Attend coordination meetings (e.g., CCM, TCM). Collaborate with architects, civil & structural consultants, and stakeholders for proper integration of electrical systems.
  • Tender Administration: Handle tender processes, including documentation, design drawings, technical reports, and interviews.
  • Construction Phase Support: Prepare/review drawings, check shop drawings, attend site meetings, resolve issues, witness testing & commissioning, and coordinate inspections.
  • Progress Claims & Final Account: Verify contractor claims and ensure project handover is defect-free.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm.
  • Strong knowledge in Electrical & ELV Systems, Earthing & Lightning Protection, Security Systems.
  • Experience attending CCM & TCM meetings.
  • Understanding of electrical standards, authority submissions, and site coordination.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
