Responsibilities & Skills
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff FPGA Soft IP RTL Design Engineer to join our design team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and verification of high-performance Ethernet IP cores targeting FPGA platforms. You will work closely with system architects, verification engineers, and software teams to deliver robust and efficient Ethernet solutions.
Requirements
Key Skills
- Strong Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL design coding.
- Experience with FPGA toolchains (Vivado, Quartus, Synplify, etc.).
- Familiarity with simulation and verification tools (ModelSim, Questa, UVM, etc.).
- Solid understanding of timing closure, clock domain crossing, and FPGA constraints.
- Programming skills (e.g.: C/C++, Perl, TCL or Python) for Automated system level validation.
- Strong background or experience of Ethernet protocols (10/100/1G/10G/25G/100G), MAC/PCS layers, PTP1588, Auto Negotiation, Link Training and IEEE standards (e.g., 802.3) is a major plus
- Collaborate with verification teams to define test plans and support functional verification.
- Perform synthesis, timing analysis, and FPGA implementation.
- Support bring-up, debugging, and validation on hardware platforms.
- Work with software and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Maintain and improve existing IPs for performance, area, and power optimization.
- Document design specifications, user guides, and test procedures.
- Experience in serDes related HW validation equipment on FPGA platforms is a plus.
- BS/MS/PhD in Electronics or Computer Engineering minimum of 7-10 years of FPGA/RTL design experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with cross-functional team
- Self-motivated and proactive with critical thinking.
- Good problem solving and de-bugging skills
- Experience and ability to lead a team of juniors is a plus

Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
- Review, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
- Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
- Proactively promote industry best practices
- May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
- Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
- Solve complex problems
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and interpret data and information
- Recommend modifications for systems
- Create reports and documentation
- May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas.

Detailed Description• 3D passive channel modeling, perform extraction by using electromagnetic tools.
• Perform signal integrity pre-layout and post-layout analysis in R&D phase.
• Perform static timing and signal integrity analysis of parallel (common clock, source- • synchronous) interfaces.
• Design and analysis of multi-gigabit serial links, including lab verification and tuning.
• Perform power integrity analysis on power delivery network.
• Generate and verify PCB layout rules, manage constraints for PCB layout.
• Work directly with ASIC and PCB design teams to evaluate design tradeoffs and optimize design performance / risk / cost / manufacturability.
• Cooperate with R&D team and signal test engineers on debugging, failure analysis and fixing issues discovered during test.
• Familiar with SAS, PCIe, DDR4/5, 25G/56G Ethernet specification is a plus.
• Experience with at least one PCB post-route SI tool: Cadence SPECCTRAQuest, Mentor ICX, SiSoft SI-Auditor (preferred), Sigrity Power SI.
• Experience with Synopsys HSPICE and/or Keysight ADS for both time and frequency domain circuit simulation.
• Experience with at least one 3-D field solver (CST Microwave Studio, ANSYS HFSS).
• Experience with TDR and VNA measurements.
• Proficiency in Electromagnetic, Transmission-line & S-parameters theory and modeling.

The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the electrical/mechanical system that they have designed.
The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Electrical) develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed
The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Mechanical) develops new mechanical systems/modules and maintains existing designs. Research mechanical concepts and create system solutions using 3D modeling and simulation software. Complete calculations and test, validate, and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognised expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
- Review, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
- Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
- Proactively promote industry best practices
- May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
- Research systems ideas and will draw up plans for these systems
- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.
- Create designs in line with Celesticas procedures, regulations and customer standards
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
- Solve complex problems
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Recommend system modifications
- Creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
- Analysing and interpreting data and information
- Creating reports and documentation
- Prepare calculations on the proposed solution before completing technical drawings. Sketch and draw up designs using input from other engineers, requirements and input from design review (DFx) team
- Calculate factors like tolerance, dimensions, and thermal and structural analysis
- Submit drawings to management, engineering teams and customers for review.
- Provide support during the manufacturing process
- Finalize designs and send prints to the production department

We are looking for Hardware Design Engineer to support our client services that include but not limited to BOM, Schematic and layout of the platform for next generation of CPU/GPU/PCH which will be used for validation team to validate the CPU/PCH/GPU from different segment like Server, Client, Graphic and Device division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with multiple teams like layout, material, power delivery, signal integrity, package design, board validation, software coding and various board design teams to deliver a good quality board design or system which meets the platform and system level electrical requirement, High speed digital signal requirement, DFT and DFM requirements.
- Hands on in using and working on Allegro Design Entry HDL(ConceptHDL) and Allegro PCB Designer for schematic edit and PCB layout review respectively. And also “Speed” for the BOM management. To ensure the platform power on in the lab and debug with lab equipment like scope, LA and etc if the board has any issues.
- Good knowledge in PCB routing topology and design guidelines, Layout placement strategy and guidelines, PCB stack up technology, debug and technical knowledge of all types of interfaces (DDR, PCIe, USB and etc) and also develop good technical knowledge like Architecture, types of Memory, Power Delivery, Power interfaces, Power Management, HSIO busses and etc.
- Proficiency in hardware description languages such as Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
- Test automation expertise with scripting/programming language
- Familiarity with FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) and ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) design flows.
- Prior experience in logic design for high-speed interfaces, memory controllers, or digital signal processing (DSP) is a plus.
- FPGA and CPLD development
Requirements:
- At least Bachelor degree in EE, Electronic or EE related (Hardware)
- Good knowledge in PC Architecture, basis electronic components, basic circuit design and etc
- Good analytical and debug skill, and able to resolve the issues accordingly (Problem solving skill)
- Showing good communication, documentation and team works capability.
- Add on knowledge of Schematic, simulation and software programing is preferable

Detailed Description- Develop a signal integrity test and validation plan, including test plan scope, schedule estimation, and resource allocation, for the server, storage, and communication platform.
- Complete the test items according to the test plan on time. Flexible timing adjustments based on problem occurrence and troubleshooting.
- Inform the R&D team of any problems encountered during test/validation execution, and follow up on them all the way to resolution.
- Work together on debugging, failure analysis, and fixing problems found during testing with the R&D team and other test engineers.
- Examine and design testing procedures to shorten testing times and broaden test coverage.
- Experience in hardware board level testing with relevant knowledge.
- In-depth understanding of PC/Server/Storage structure concepts, especially from electrical aspect.
- Knowledge of signal integrity theory in practise.
- Practical understanding of server platform validation of key buses such as FSB, Memory, LAN, USB, SATA, PCI Express, etc.
- Expertise in classifying and analysing server board signal groups.
- Good understanding of the principles and basic structures of measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators and multimeters etc.
- Excellent command of bus protocols and standards; strong technical problem-solving abilities. Strong team work spirit, team leader preferred.
- The capacity to handle several tasks and enormous workloads.
