Summary

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be part of application solution team focus on product & solution development, familiar with manufacturing process on steel metal fabrication

Your Tasks

• Generate concepts and develop detailed designs for entrance system product
• Generate 3D models for design review and verification.
• Generate manufacturing drawing and BOM list for manufacturing purpose
• Prepare mockup and prototype for design review and verification
• Prepare manual for the purpose of assembly, operating and maintenance
• Produce test plan to verify the design
• Develop customized design base on existing product for special project

Responsibilities & Authority:

1. Assist the Design / Engineering Departmental Head in managing an effective quality system across design and development activities.
2. Liaise with customers regarding product design requirements.
3. Assist in developing new products based on customer requirements.
4. Review product modifications to ensure resource optimization, safety, reliability, and cost savings.
5. Generate BOM lists and perform costing calculations for prototypes and new projects.
6. Manage design and development projects, coordinating with related departments.
7. Ensure reliability testing is conducted on selected products to meet customer requests and safety standards.
8. Establish production methods and prepare related documentation such as Production Procedures, Operation Instructions, Process Control Instructions, Machine Setup Instructions, and Tooling Lists.
9. Undertake additional duties as assigned by superiors.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Good product knowledge including design, machining, assembly, and the surrounding processes.
• Managing the product technical portfolio and keeping it up to date with support from Customization Design Engineer.
• Lead the technical aspects of relocation and customization projects by turning customer-specific requests into deliveries.
• Technical lead for Product & Quality team in providing technical advice, root cause analysis and implementing short and long-term measures.
• Establish design guidelines and a checker to ensure good design quality.
• Support the Change Request and Change Management, liaising with engineering change department for ECR/ECN implementation at the production floor, keeping the product up to date.
• Involved in customer audits and provide technical support for Customer Complaints.
• Support laboratory activities.
• Drive product industrialization by design improvement, optimization, and cost-down projects.
• Industrialization of new standard and customer-specific products in close cooperation with industrialization project managers, HQ-design engineers, and product engineers.
• Drive product optimization via collaboration with manufacturing departments, supplier development engineers, and project buyers.
• Render technical support to NPI product until handoff to operations.
• Support customers together with product management and application engineers.
• Perform design reviews and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) at cross-departmental levels.
• Work together with Product Manager in conducting product training.
• Participate in PFMEA, DFMEA, and design walkthroughs.
• 70% engineering coordination task with 30% design-related task.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing test head positioners, docking hardware, and other electromechanical interfaces using knowledge of test heads and related handlers and probers, as well as specific customer requirements. The position formulates and effectively utilizes partnerships across the engineering disciplines to deliver value-added solutions to our customer critical challenges and reflects the business objectives of all stakeholders.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for attaining knowledge and experience in the application principles and practices of mechanical engineering; awareness of pertinent elements of such related fields industrial/manufacturing equipment, processing, and positioning systems.
• Works directly with internal and external customers, sales and marketing to ensure an understanding of product requirements.
• Analyze new product and product modification specifications, requirements, safety factor calculations, product proposals, and determine development feasibility. Estimate time and cost requirements to develop and build end system assemblies.
• Take projects all the way from concept brainstorming, through detailed design, prototype fabrication and testing, production release, and long-term customer sustaining which includes detailing of mechanical parts for fabrication including tubes, sheet metals, frame structures, and supporting assembly instructions.
• Will support production staff in the execution of production product builds using DVT methodologies and continuous improvement of assembly instructions, tools sets, and physical building of the end products.
• Will observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, hazard-free condition, reporting all defective equipment or hazardous conditions. Perform other related duties as required by management.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• BSME / MSME
• Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience; 10 years preferred
• SolidWorks or related 3D design experience; required
• Formal Training in SolidWorks, Cosmos and Flo Works highly desired
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience performing stress and deflection analysis using FEA and other methods.
• Experience performing tolerance stack-up analysis.
