Summary

Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate team leaders and professional employees performing diverse roles. This includes establishing three to five year plans/objectives, and developing policies for the function/unit. Provides direct supervision to others, or indirect through subordinate supervisors, and coordinates the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees. Makes hiring and firing decisions. Reviews employees performance and recommends employee compensation; coaches for improved performance and disciplines as necessary. Provides final approval for subordinate managers/supervisors salary and performance recommendations. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts directly with subordinates and peer groups; interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Manages, advises and guides regional commodity teams for allocation of constrained commodities.
• Identifies supply vs demand profile for all allocated products within Celestica and proportion by customer and geography and communicate allocation.
• Resolves critical shortages that have been escalated and work with senior executives of suppliers to increase supplier support of products.
• Consolidates and reports customer service or revenue impacting items and ensure no impact to Celestica in the marketplace.
• Manages team for establishing rapid component sourcing for new program introduction and inter-site product transfers across defined geography.
• Develops new strategic processes, systems and a toolset to facilitate the sourcing process while maintaining strict controls.
• Directly manages a group of SCM employees or managers.
• Maintains responsibility for employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition.
• Establishes department goals/ measurements and manages resources to achieve this goals.
• Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
• Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for broad range of strategic commodities.
• Excellent knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives.
• Good understanding of global business environment and Customers business, organization, products and processes.
• Strong knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.
• Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
• Expert knowledge of best of breed sourcing practices and methodologies.

Physical Demands

Role Purpose

To undertake the technical handling, servicing, maintenance, repair, rectification, and certification of aircraft parts or processes in accordance with company and relevant Airworthiness Authorities approved methods and procedures within the agreed turnaround time.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out and certify overhaul, inspection, repair, replacement, and servicing of aircraft parts and components.
• Update the Leading Hand on defect status and maintenance progress.
• Assist in maintaining records of workshop assets, equipment, and facilities.
• Log all man-hours diligently into the system.
• Assess tasks for manpower distribution.
• Identify and order spares as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
• Assist in enforcing staff discipline and maintaining technical publications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Aviation Engineering or equivalent.
• Over 2 years’ experience in an Aircraft support workshop environment.

Skills & Knowledge

• SPM certificate with at least 2 years of aircraft maintenance training or 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
