What you will do

If successful, you will take on a leading role for designated applications/platforms/technologies, providing global engineering support in the evaluation, design, qualification and integration into ExxonMobil’s Industrial Control Systems (“ICS”) environment, as well as lifecycle management. • Design, integrate and perform testing for designated applications/platforms/technologies to be used in ExxonMobil’s ICS environment at sites around the world:

o Examples of platforms/technologies include: Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory (e.g. Group Policy, Domain Security, DNS), Virtualization (VMWare, Veeam), Windows Updates (WSUS), Antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection, SentinelOne), Database (MS SQL, PostgreSQL), Networking (Cisco), OPC

o Examples of process control applications include: Honeywell Process Historian (PHD), Alarm Management, Operator Training Simulator (DynSim, UniSim), Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC), Real-Time Optimization (RTO), Ignition platform

• Develop comprehensive procedures and guidance to standardize deployment, patching and migration
• Provide elevated technical support and troubleshooting to sites
• Close collaboration with business functions (e.g. enterprise IT) and external vendors to influence product releases, desired changes or change in architecture
• Contribute / develop global roadmap to manage lifecycle and synergy across fleet of installed products at sites
• Evaluate and propose new and alternate product releases; participate in research and development for new technologies
• Meet ExxonMobil ICS requirements for safe, reliable and secure operations
• Provide critical communication and information sharing to sites and be an active part of the global community of Control Systems Engineers

About you

Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must have or be able to demonstrate the following:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology
• Experience supporting Industrial Control Systems and/or automation projects in the petrochemical, manufacturing or similar industry
• Understanding of ICS architecture and environment including operational aspects such as reliability, redundancy, high availability, remote support, business continuity and disaster recovery
• Experience / hands-on with Virtualization, Windows Servers and Active Directory, Database administration, OPC, Ethernet networking
• Skills in scripting or compiled programming languages to develop tools, automation or solutions (e.g. PowerShell, VB.Net)
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts for Industrial Control Systems
• Experience with software configuration, integration, testing and technical documentation
• Behavioral traits:

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills

o Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, including vendors and senior technical leaders

o Troubleshooting skills, innovative and analytical thinking

o Independent, strong drive and desire to lead change

o Ability to adapt, work flexibly and be part of a multi-cultural global team.

Preference will be given to those with the following additional skills / abilities:

• Leverage work processes and tools to facilitate effective above-site support and identify opportunities for improvement
• Primary interface for remote engineering support with manufacturing Site Engineers
• Establish yourself as an extended member of the site Control Systems team
• Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure applications infrastructure operates at optimum level
• Maintain strong working relationship with Control System Support Team regarding roadmap, upgrades, and initiatives

This role is based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur. What you will do If successful, you will take on a leading role for designated applications/platforms/technologies, providing global engineering support in the evaluation, design, qualification and integration into ExxonMobil’s Industrial Control Systems (“ICS”) environment, as well as lifecycle management. You will be working with diverse teams, sites and vendors to impact change on a global scale. Key deliverables include: Design, integrate and perform testing for designated applications/platforms/technologies to be used in ExxonMobil’s ICS environment at sites around the world: o Examples of platforms/technologies include: Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory (e.g. Group Policy, Domain Security, DNS), Virtualization (VMWare, Veeam), Windows Updates (WSUS), Antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection, SentinelOne), Database (MS SQL, PostgreSQL), Networking (Cisco), OPC o Examples of process control applications include: Honeywell Process Historian (PHD), Alarm Management, Operator Training Simulator (DynSim, UniSim), Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC), Real-Time Optimization (RTO), Ignition platform Develop comprehensive procedures and guidance to standardize deployment, patching and migration Provide elevated technical support and troubleshooting to sites Close collaboration with business functions (e.g. enterprise IT) and external vendors to influence product releases, desired changes or change in architecture Contribute / develop global roadmap to manage lifecycle and synergy across fleet of installed products at sites Evaluate and propose new and alternate product releases; participate in research and development for new technologies Meet ExxonMobil ICS requirements for safe, reliable and secure operations Provide critical communication and information sharing to sites and be an active part of the global community of Control Systems Engineers About you Skills and Qualifications To be eligible for this role, you must have or be able to demonstrate the following: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology Experience supporting Industrial Control Systems and/or automation projects in the petrochemical, manufacturing or similar industry Understanding of ICS architecture and environment including operational aspects such as reliability, redundancy, high availability, remote support, business continuity and disaster recovery Experience / hands-on with Virtualization, Windows Servers and Active Directory, Database administration, OPC, Ethernet networking Skills in scripting or compiled programming languages to develop tools, automation or solutions (e.g. PowerShell, VB.Net) Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts for Industrial Control Systems Experience with software configuration, integration, testing and technical documentation Behavioral traits: o Strong communication and interpersonal skills o Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, including vendors and senior technical leaders o Troubleshooting skills, innovative and analytical thinking o Independent, strong drive and desire to lead change o Ability to adapt, work flexibly and be part of a multi-cultural global team. Preference will be given to those with the following additional skills / abilities: Experience supporting DCS (e.g. Honeywell Experion) / PLC, including data interfaces with applications. If successful, you will represent the Business Unit in providing effective above-site manufacturing digital and data optimization support. You will be part of the team to leverage central work processes and tools and identify continuous improvement opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Key deliverables include: Support process control systems infrastructure (software/hardware) and advanced control applications for refineries and chemical plants Design and engineer computing infrastructure such as servers, operating systems and networks Integrate and deploy advanced control applications into the industrial control systems (ICS) environment Primary interface for remote engineering support with manufacturing Site Engineers Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure applications infrastructure within scope of responsibility are operating at optimum level Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and integrity recommendation stewardship Data analytics and operationalize upgraded work practices through digital transformation About you
