The candidates will be responsible for working with multi-discipline teams to support optimal asset development and operations, leveraging fundamental reservoir engineering skills in reservoir description, development planning, opportunity generation, and production optimization.
What you will doIndividuals will provide reservoir management and simulation support to global asset teams in the following areas:
- Planning, evaluation, and/or execution of field development/drill well programs
- Identifying key reservoir uncertainties and providing recommendations to mitigate risks
- Improving reservoir description through fluid analysis, core evaluation, well testing interpretation, and production performance analysis
- Conducting production forecasts and reserves assessments to support development/depletion planning and production optimization opportunities
- Developing and/or leveraging new reservoir engineering technologies to support business solutions
Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should be self-motivated and focused on achieving business results through a multi-discipline team. Demonstrated teamwork and effective communication skills are essential. Technical skill requirements are as follows:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering - preferably Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical; with 3-10 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering
- Competency in reservoir simulation in Eclipse/INTERSECT; able to perform model building, history matching & forecasting with well/field management
- Experience in analytical performance prediction, depletion planning, reserves assessment, reservoir surveillance & optimization, and volumes forecasting

The Senior Reservoir Engineer reports directly to Manager, Reservoir Engineering and responsible:
- In ensuring that all reservoir engineering evaluations and modelling throughout the exploration and production cycle are technically robust and meet or exceed industry or regulatory standards and requirements. Coordinates the interaction with the other subsurface disciplines to ensure all subsurface data are appropriately integrated and utilized for subsurface studies and well planning.
- To maximize economic recovery and present value by managing subsurface projects, reserves, production forecasts, costs, and exploration.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform reservoir engineering assessments in subsurface modeling to improve production and recovery through infill drilling, gas cap blowdown, and other enhancement methods, following a solid Reservoir Management Plan (RMP).
- Make sure reservoir engineering studies and modeling workflows meet or exceed industry and regulatory standards, are suitable for their purpose, and have effective quality checks.
- Ensure reserves estimates and long-term production forecasts follow regulatory and company requirements.
- Build and maintain 3D dynamic geological models using subsurface and production data. Perform history matching and run analyses to predict outcomes, understand uncertainties, and optimize recovery.
- Use analytical methods combining subsurface and production data to find opportunities and assess reserves.
- Work well with the subsurface team (geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, production technologists) and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Fully understand and manage all projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met for tasks like seismic processing, studies, field development plans, formation evaluation, and post-drilling reports.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by providing high-quality, timely correspondence, presentations, reports, and documentation.
- Coordinate with the drilling team to support safe and successful drilling, identify risks and geohazards, and offer solutions.
- Participate in data rooms, analyze geoscience and engineering data, and provide technical advice on opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, other Engineering or equivalent qualification from recognized universities /academic institution.
- Possess at least fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of working experience in the reservoir and petroleum engineering disciplines in the oil and gas industry, preferably with an operator.
- Essential experience in reservoir and petroleum engineering including surveillance and studies.
- Experience in understanding well behaviors and reservoir performances.

The Senior Reservoir Engineer (SRE) is responsible for developing and maintaining reservoir depletion plans, reserves management and maturation. The RE works in a multidisciplinary team with Geoscientists, Production Engineers and Petroleum Economists to ensure efficient reservoir management and compliant reporting.
Key Accountabilities
HSSE
The Reservoir Engineer will be expected to gain early familiarisation with Mubadala HSSE policy and ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with same.
Reporting, Stakeholder Engagement & Management
· Provide updates to Management on production updates, well status and key Reservoir Performance Indicators.
· Provide Reservoir Engineering presentations and reports as required including for External Engagements, including TCMs, MCMs, Petronas Reports (eg, IOM, ARPR, WPB).
Provide Reservoir Engineering presentations and reports as required including for Internal Engagements, including Subsurface Workshops, TeComs, and Project Gate Reviews.
Production Forecasting and Reserves Reporting
· Use analytical and/or numerical simulation techniques to derive production forecasts to support Projects, Internal Reserves Submissions and Business Planning, WPB and ARPR Submissions.
· Provide technical recommendations on development well count, scope and timing for new projects.
· Liaise with commercial/economics team in delivering field economics analysis as required.
· Liaise with facilities teams for all CAPEX/OPEX inputs as required.
· Prepare technical documentation and presentations as required to meet reporting requirements.
Act as responsible party for submission of all corporate and Petronas reports(i.e., IOM, WPB, ARPR, BP).
· Interpret field data including production, pressure and sample data to advise on additional data gathering techniques, scope and timing.
· Design, implement and interpret well tests, including MRTs and planned PBUs.
· Design and implement well sampling plans.
· Design and implement well intervention plans, including downhole pressure surveys, production and saturation logs.
· Develop the Reservoir Management Plan to maximise useful data gathering and interpretation to support future development decisions.
Qualifications:
Knowledge:
A Masters degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
8+ years of relevant Reservoir Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas Sector.
Skills:
·Understands basic petroleum engineering principles and techniques.
·Software: Petroleum Experts (MBAL/Prosper/GAP/Eclipse/KAPPA/PVTP/OFM/Petrel)
·Capable of data and document management; familiar with use of production modelling tools (Gap, Prosper, OFM etc.); familiar with well completion techniques.
