• Ability to critically assess and integrate work from other disciplines, such as petrophysics, geophysics, and reservoir engineering.
• Proven experience in geomodelling and geological software applications.
• Hands-on experience with wellsite geological operations.
• Seismic interpretation experience is a strong advantage.

• Conduct pre-drill subsurface risk assessments, generate volumetrics, and prioritize leads and prospects.
• Lead geoscience efforts within integrated teams, working closely with reservoir engineers, petrophysicists, and production technologists.
• Prepare well proposals and formation evaluation programs to meet reservoir characterization needs.
• Support drilling operations with geological input and real-time monitoring in collaboration with operations and wellsite geologists.
• Coordinate with drilling teams to identify and mitigate geohazards and ensure safe, efficient drilling campaigns.
• Contribute geological input to Field Development Plans (FDPs).
• Perform deterministic and probabilistic volumetric assessments for reserves reporting and audits.
• Plan and oversee geological lab analyses of rock and fluid samples according to industry standards.
• Ensure all reports, presentations, and technical documentation are of high quality and delivered on time.
• Participate in data rooms, analyse subsurface data, and provide recommendations on new opportunities.
• Mentor and coach junior geologists to support their professional growth.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Sciences, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or academic institution.
• 15–20 years of experience in geoscience and petroleum engineering within the oil and gas industry, preferably with an operator.
• Strong background in geological interpretation and modelling methodologies.
• Minimum 5 years of experience building 3D geocellular static reservoir models using Petrel or TNav.
• Skilled in geostatistics, uncertainty analysis, and preparing volumetric reports for hydrocarbon resource estimation.
• Experience working with clastic depositional systems and integrating subsurface data (including seismic). Knowledge of carbonate systems is a plus.
• Familiar with geological settings in the Malay Basin or Sabah.
• Proficient in interpreting geophysical data and experienced with offshore drilling operations, including wellsite duties and log analysis.
• Knowledgeable in technical review processes and able to contribute to FDP, FFR, or similar evaluations.
• Effective team player in multidisciplinary environments with diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Registered with the Board of Geologists (BOG), Malaysia.
• PETRONAS Reserves & Resources Management System (PRrMS) certification for reserves reporting.

• Focal geologist for BD-4 Appraisal well including the workscope of preparing the SOR, GP Survey, geological assessment for shallow reservoir, external lead for MPM/REX reviews, well proposal preparation and spud.
• Focal geologist for ADP update including producing the executive summary, PM 302/PM325 Exploration background, remaining Leads and Portfolio and integrated development planning.
• Focal work on the NMB Western Area Development in 2022, for seismic interpretation task.
• Regional geological and geophysical studies, acreage and prospect maturation is carried out to identify basins and plays to support bidding in exploration bid rounds and farm-in and acquisition initiatives.
• Identification and mapping of leads and prospects for exploration drilling opportunities, including quantification of play & prospect risks, volumetric assessments and economic viability.
• Planning and execution of exploration and appraisal drilling.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Geosciences or Geology or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years experienced in similar scope within Malay Basin with GHA application work an advantage.
• Experienced Petrel and GeoX software user.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Registered geologist with Board of Geologist Malaysia (Lembaga Ahli Geologi Malaysia).
