The Senior Geologist reports directly to the Manager, Geology and is responsible for leading geological studies and 3D geological modelling across the full exploration and production cycle. This includes integrating subsurface and production data to develop comprehensive geological models that support optimal well placement for exploration, appraisal, and development. Strong expertise in geological modelling is essential for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary technical team. The role also involves managing subsurface projects, reserves, production forecasts, and exploration activities to maximize economic recovery and asset value.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conduct geological assessments and studies for new ventures, exploration, and mature field opportunities.
- Build and maintain 3D static reservoir models integrating various subsurface and production data to accurately represent reservoir architecture and hydrocarbon volumes.
- Maintain comprehensive field-scale well correlations to define reservoir flow units, connectivity, and continuity for mapping and modelling purposes.
- Integrate all relevant subsurface data (e.g., stratigraphy, petrophysics, pressure, seismic) into reservoir model construction.
- Conduct pre-drill subsurface risk assessments, generate volumetrics, and prioritize leads and prospects.

- 15–20 years of experience in geoscience and petroleum engineering within the oil and gas industry, preferably with an operator.
- Strong background in geological interpretation and modelling methodologies.
- Minimum 5 years of experience building 3D geocellular static reservoir models using Petrel or TNav.
- Skilled in geostatistics, uncertainty analysis, and preparing volumetric reports for hydrocarbon resource estimation.
- Experience working with clastic depositional systems and integrating subsurface data (including seismic). Knowledge of carbonate systems is a plus.
- Familiar with geological settings in the Malay Basin or Sabah.
- Proficient in interpreting geophysical data and experienced with offshore drilling operations, including wellsite duties and log analysis.
- Knowledgeable in technical review processes and able to contribute to FDP, FFR, or similar evaluations.
- Effective team player in multidisciplinary environments with diverse backgrounds.
