Job Description
- Focal geologist for BD-4 Appraisal well including the workscope of preparing the SOR, GP Survey, geological assessment for shallow reservoir, external lead for MPM/REX reviews, well proposal preparation and spud.
- Focal geologist for ADP update including producing the executive summary, PM 302/PM325 Exploration background, remaining Leads and Portfolio and integrated development planning.
- Focal work on the NMB Western Area Development in 2022, for seismic interpretation task.
- Regional geological and geophysical studies, acreage and prospect maturation is carried out to identify basins and plays to support bidding in exploration bid rounds and farm-in and acquisition initiatives.
- Identification and mapping of leads and prospects for exploration drilling opportunities, including quantification of play & prospect risks, volumetric assessments and economic viability.
- Planning and execution of exploration and appraisal drilling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Geosciences or Geology or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years experienced in similar scope within Malay Basin with GHA application work an advantage.
- Experienced Petrel and GeoX software user.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
- Registered geologist with Board of Geologist Malaysia (Lembaga Ahli Geologi Malaysia).

Role Description
This contract role for an Exploration Manager is a hybrid position based in Pahang, Malaysia, with some work from home acceptable. The Exploration Manager will oversee exploration projects, coordinate drilling programs, conduct geological assessments, and manage data analysis. The role also includes planning and executing exploration strategies, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and liaising with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Job Scope:
- Assist in the collection and analysis of geological samples, including rock, soil and core samples.
- Conduct geological mapping and logging.

- Monitor and document daily exploration/mining activities and geological conditions.
- Update and maintain geological databases and records.
- Assist in the preparation of geological reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with chief geologists, team members and other professionals to ensure accurate geological information is used in mine planning.
- Conduct field checks of site locations, orientation and safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
Preferred Skills:
- Solid understanding of geological principles and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of 3D technical software (e.g., ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Micromine) is an advantage.
- Strong safety awareness in the field.
- Willingness to relocate based on project requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and interact with international colleagues.
- Ability to identify various rock types, alterations, structures, and gold-associated minerals (mandatory).
- Knowledge of other economic minerals is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with the JORC code system will be advantageous
