The Portfolio Management team member will play a key role in monitoring and optimizing private equity fund portfolios across the total portfolio-wide, fund-level, and investor-level perspectives. Key Responsibilities:
Total Portfolio-Wide Monitoring & Strategic Analysis
Oversee portfolio performance, risk exposure, diversification, and liquidity across primary fund commitments, secondaries, and co-investments.
Develop macro-level insights on NAV growth trends, capital flows, and expected return distributions.
Maintain and enhance portfolio models to support strategic decision-making, including stress testing under macroeconomic scenarios.
Assess portfolio allocation across strategies (e.g., buyout, growth equity, secondaries), regions and products, ensuring diversification and adherence to investment allocation policies.
Optimize capital deployment, pacing models, and vintage-year exposure in collaboration with the investment team.
Regularly communicate with the investment team and leadership team on portfolio needs.
Produce new content to respond to internal/external questions and fundraising efforts, particularly focused on portfolio, performance, and liquidity.
Portfolio Performance Monitoring
Track and analyze portfolio performance, including NAV movements, cash flows, and return metrics.
Maintain portfolio models to evaluate fund returns, J-curve effects, and long-term performance trends.
Benchmark fund managers against peers using industry databases to provide relative performance insights.
Investor-Level Portfolio Management & Reporting
Prepare quarterly reports, investor updates, and portfolio reviews, highlighting key performance drivers.
Track and manage investor-specific portfolio exposures and performance for institutional clients and UHNWIs.
Support investor relations by developing customized reports and responding to ad hoc client requests.
Assist in preparing investor presentations and portfolio reviews for existing and prospective clients.
Create and review external content for product marketing including pitch decks, investment summaries, monthly fact sheets, and quarterly reports.
Strategic, Liquidity & Cash Flow Planning
Model and forecast fund-level and total portfolio-level cash flows, including capital calls, distributions, and projected liquidity needs.
Develop commitment pacing plans to optimize capital deployment and maintain liquidity buffers. Analyze the fund's investment needs related to diversification, tactical strategy allocations, pacing, investment suitability, and sizing.
Regularly monitor the portfolio against investment objectives & restrictions, and the current market environment to recommend future adjustments.
Day-to-day liquidity management, including cash balance and cash investment strategy, credit line utilization, redemption considerations, and capital available to invest.
Own the fund(s)'s model portfolio and target investment parameters in support of evergreen product development.
Assist in the production of thought pieces/white papers to support evergreen fund marketing.
Analyze secondary market opportunities for potential portfolio rebalancing or liquidity solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
4-7 years of experience in private equity, asset management, investment consulting, or a related field.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel, VBA, and financial databases.
Deep knowledge of private equity performance metrics, portfolio analytics, and risk management.
Familiarity with portfolio management systems and industry benchmarking tools.
