YOUR IMPACT

OpenText Professional Services provides advice and guidance to our clients and partners on how to best adopt OpenText best practice. Managers lead our efforts with clients, partners, and our staff to ensure Customer Success and oversee successful delivery of programs, ensuring it is delivered to meet the clients expectations and is delivered within budget.

The Manager role is responsible for working with the Delivery team and leading consulting teams in delivering quality implementations to OpenText clients. They provide oversight and management to implementations. This includes project scope, sizing, efforts and cost. A high focus is on client success and financial management of project estimates and margins.

This role will either be based remotely in Malaysia for candidates in Malaysia, or be hybrid-based for candidates in Singapore where the successful candidate will be required to work in the office for a minimum of 3 days a week. At this time, we are only considering candidates who do not require sponsorship to work in either of these countries. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Alignment: See that the Professional Services offerings are in alignment with customer and company needs.
  • Management: Hire, ramp, and manage performance to drive employee development and maximize retention.
  • Engagement: Assure that the teams are achieving the revenue plan and align internal and partner resources to drive customer success and margins of the business; guaranteeing exceptional quarterly and annual sales achievement.
  • Revenue: Close recurring business with accounts of all sizes. Develop relationships with key customers. Provide offerings that support all types of customers in all stages of their lifecycle.
  • Leadership: Build, develop and retain a high performing team that lead positive contributions throughout the company.
  • Product Leadership: Become an expert in the features, benefits and application of OpenText EIM vision, product roadmaps, install base and technologies and effectively communicate customer requirements to the product teams.
  • Other related duties as assigned

What You Need To Succeed

  • Accountable for overseeing delivery and operational results of specialized programs, while planning, hiring, performance, engagement, and development of the team(s)
  • Manages end to end delivery of results – typically through a team of professional/technical individual contributors
  • Translates cascaded plans into ongoing deliverables, business targets or project steps and guides execution
    • Ensures annual plans and deliverables are met
    • Recommends changes to policies, influences methods and techniques within own discipline and establishes standards for own and related teams
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, adapting techniques and evaluating criteria for obtaining results
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors
  • Develops detailed action plans to deliver results
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
  • Adapts style in delivering messages that relate to the wider business
    • Effectively communicates and presents results and recommendations across disciplines, helping to manage change
  • Provides regular and effective performance feedback and coaching, advocates for the development of team members and develops effective interviewing and selection skills
  • Ideally possesses a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience

The Professional Services Project Manager supports the Professional Services Organization with resources and information to implement upcoming projects. Their main duties include maintaining budgets and work schedules, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings and ensuring all deadlines for certain projects are met.

Responsibilities

A Project Manager should be able to fulfill various duties and responsibilities. They should be able to work closely with delivery managers and area managers to create comprehensive action plans concerning resources, budgets and timeframes for projects. Project Managers perform various coordinating duties such as scheduling and risk management. The following are additional duties and responsibilities that a Project Manager should be able to do:

  • Lead project resourcing and scheduling
  • Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
  • Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions
  • Manage project goals, project schedules and new information
  • Supervise current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track
  • Manage project-related processes by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored
  • Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails
  • Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives
  • Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years' experience as a Technical Project Manager
  • Proficient in English, Mandarin and Cantonese communication, both written and verbal is mandatory
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Networking or related field preferred
  • Experience working in a matrix managed organization
  • Proven experience working in a similar service delivery role in the ICT industry
  • Familiar with IT and networking terminology and technology
  • Effective Communicator, both verbal and written
  • Flexible and adaptable to working with new concepts and methods of working
  • Able to resolve problems and deliver under pressure
  • Motivated to deliver a high-levels of customer satisfaction

Role Summary

Project Manager, Professional Services – Asia

We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to join our Professional Services team in Asia. In this role, you’ll lead the successful delivery of customer projects from scoping through to completion, working across a range of strategic and technical engagements to ensure customer outcomes while aligning delivery with priorities, timelines, and budgets.

Key Objectives
  • Deliver projects to scope, time, and budget. Lead planning and execution of Professional Services engagements, managing schedules, resources, risks, and financial performance to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication. Act as the central point of contact for customers and internal teams; maintain strong communication, resolve issues swiftly, and align delivery with stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead coordination across regional teams and partners. Integrate delivery across Commvault teams, partners, and support functions; provide leadership to ensure logistics, resources, and timelines are aligned.
  • Contribute to delivery excellence and continuous improvement. Maintain detailed project documentation, adopt standard delivery frameworks, and help enhance service performance across Asia.
What you will do
  • Own project delivery across the full lifecycle—from planning and scheduling through to close-out—ensuring customer success across multiple markets in Asia.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and partner resources to deliver Professional Services activities according to scope and budget.
  • Develop and maintain project artefacts, including delivery plans, risk registers, RAID logs, and status reports.
  • Serve as the key contact for all project-related matters, ensuring consistent stakeholder engagement and transparent communication.
  • Provide timely written and verbal updates to customers and internal teams, including project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration with Technical Consultants, Solutions Architects, and Commvault support teams to resolve delivery issues.
  • Balance customer and Commvault objectives by understanding both sides and managing accordingly.
  • Assist with pre-sales activities by supporting scoping, effort estimation, and defining engagement milestones.
  • Contribute to delivery frameworks and processes to continuously improve team effectiveness across Asia.
What you will bring

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues simply and clearly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience as the primary point of contact for delivery, including communication of project risks and issues.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in a regional language (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Bahasa) is highly regarded.

Project Delivery Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise software or SaaS projects, ideally in Professional Services (PS) or System Integration (SI) environments.
  • Proven ability to plan, manage, and deliver multiple projects with competing timelines.
  • Solid grasp of delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Project).
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum certification preferred.
