Overview

To be part of the dynamic IFRS17 cross-disciplinary reporting team where you will support and participate in transition to IFRS17 BAU activities and on-going Group Finance projects. You will report to the IFRS 17 Financial Reporting Manager and support the business-as-usual closing under the IFRS 17 standard, to analyze and optimize IFRS17 financial processes, as well as to develop and implement automation solutions. We are looking for people who can contribute to and drive improvements in IFRS17 reporting processes, ensure compliance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deploy enhancements to financial systems. Responsibilities

Perform and support the reconciliation of IFRS17 Reporting System outputs, ledger postings, and trial balances. Support the expense and investment allocation process under the new IFRS17 Financial Reporting standards. Support month-end closing process for Great Eastern entities, including journal preparations, reconciliation reports, and ad-hoc investigations that arise during month-end closing. Develop and implement financial automation to improve overall efficiency and accuracy of IFRS17 processes. Liaise and collaborate with external stakeholders to support and validate new enhancements and requirements that are deployed to financial systems. Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate these risks. Qualifications

At least a Bachelor’s degree / Professional Degree in either Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or other equivalent qualifications. Prior exposure to local IFRS reporting standards and experience in the insurance / takaful industry would be an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Prior exposure to SQL or related scripting languages would be an advantage. A good problem solver with effective communication skills. How you succeed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

  • Candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Basic understanding of financial reporting standards and accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with Enterprise Resource Planning ("ERP") systems is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated expertise in complex financial reporting processes, consolidations, and control systems
  • Proficiency in financial management systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic thinking
  • Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • A recognised professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) is a plus

As the Senior Manager - Financial Reporting at Deriv, you will be in charge of planning the company’s financial strategies, providing regulatory reporting, and handling management accounts. With your expertise in all areas of financial management, you will ensure a robust financial structure to support the Group’s ongoing growth.

  • Provide financial plans, commercial analysis, and risk management recommendations for daily operation.
  • Manage all financial and accounting matters, including reconciliation, monthly financial returns, management accounts, daily cash flow management (including liquid capital management and monitoring).
  • Setting up financial and internal control systems for the team.
  • Ensure financial compliance in the company’s financial processes and contracts.
What you have
  • Degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field
  • 10+ years of managerial experience, preferably handling a team of more than 5
  • Solid understanding in accounting standards, best practices and taxation regulations
  • Expertise in complex financial accounting process and procedures
  • Proficiency in financial management software
  • Ability to strategise and solve problems with an analytical mindset
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills

Responsibilities

Your role as a Tax & Financial Reporting Supervisor will be to prepare and review tax, financial and other regulatory reporting for our superannuation fund and managed investment trust clients. Core to this role is ensuring high quality, accurate and timely reporting with an exceptional level of attention to detail. This will involve an ability to analyze and resolve operational issues.

Your challenge will be to support continuous process improvement and collaborate with internal stakeholders on technology developments to meet business and client expectations.

  • Prepare business activity financial statements, distribution calculations and tax returns
  • Preparation of financial statements, APRA and ABS regulatory reporting
  • Reconciliation of accounting to taxable income
  • Perform daily and monthly activities as required adhering strictly to established procedures, controls and checklist
  • Review and resolve aging break items and breaks over a certain dollar threshold
  • Review and update procedures & controls
  • Provide back-up coverage for team members and assist team members during high volume periods
  • Drive and contribute towards process improvement
  • Provide solutions to mitigate errors and to ensure adherence to audit and control policies
  • Support Manager in monthly team planning, coordination and resourcing
  • Assist the team manager in audit queries, client queries, and risk related items
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business studies/technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experiences (must have financial reporting knowledge)
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or business-related area
  • Experience in fund administration, change management, and/or project management
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet varying deadlines and work volumes
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
