About The Role:

• Review and consolidate submissions from local business units for various for external and internal reporting requirements such as IFRS, EV, HKRBC, LCSM, HKFRS, Bermuda or management reporting.
• Ensure all required financial reporting and analysis are provided to Group Office timely, accurately, without compromising on the quality and in accordance to AIA Group accounting policies and its related regulations.
• Ensure information received from the local business units complies with Group standards for both financial and management reporting.
• Prepare analytical review, accounting journals, consolidation workings, reporting deliverables, Group announcement and financial statements in accordance to the AIA policies and external and internal reporting requirements.
• Support Group Office and local business units on relevant Group financial reporting and analysis matters by providing timely and satisfactory response on all queries to enable business decisions.
• Support various Group financial reporting related initiatives and coordinate with various departments in Group Office and local business units on rolling out of the initiatives.
• Support the Manager to develop and recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for the current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of stakeholders.
• Assist in projects for any development, design, and implementation of new processes, controls and functionally changes to existing systems to improve current processes, controls and overall effectiveness of the team.
• Responsible to update Business Process Manuals, Control Checklist and Training Materials as and when new enhancement identified, implemented and communicated, and at least on an annual basis.
• Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet financial reporting and/or other requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Degree holder in Accountancy with professional qualification in ACCA or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience gained within a multinational environment with regional exposure and/or accounting and auditing experiences in a big-size accounting firm
• Experience with insurance and financial services industries preferred
• Knowledge of IFRS especially IFRS 9 preferred
• Knowledge of systems e.g. SAP / BPC preferred

In this role at CelcomDigi, you are responsible to prepare and analyse financial statements for Customer Experience Division (CXD), ensuring full accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and policies as mandated by the organization. You are required to monitor, track and maintain all financial related matters, prepare periodic financial reports, perform variance analysis and identify trends in financial data. You will work closely with the other departments within CXD in ensuring accuracy of the financial data, as well as identifying and implementing process improvements/ initiatives to enhance and improve the financial position of the division. You will also be guiding and leading the computation of financial analysis required such as profitability report by channels, by customer segments, by product lines etc, and providing these on a periodic basis for decision making. Other departments from CXD will refer to you for computation of financial impacts / implications of any initiatives or projects, and you will prepare the needed analysis such as ROI, NPV, IRR etc. In addition, you will be processing the finance related documents for CXD, such as preparation and issuance of PO, PR, invoices etc, while ensuring proper documentation of these and right-tagging of the expenses in accordance to the statement of accounts. Any potential risks or issues related to financial matters must be highlighted in advance, with the resolution and timeline in place. You will also work closely with Budget Management for the preparation and management of the divisional budget.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible to manage and maintain all financial related matters for Customer Experience Division (CXD) and to prepare and analyse the financial statements, including balance sheet, profit & loss, and cash flow statements for the division.
• You establish the financial reporting process and work with all the departments within CXD to compile and report accurate, valid and precise financial data, in a timely manner.
• You track, monitor and maintain the financial movements such as expenses and budget utilization for CXD, in accordance with the approved budget, and compute forecasts as and when required.
• Any potential risk or non-compliance to financial matters must be highlighted, with resolution and timeline in place.
• You are expected to know, understand and recognize every line item for CXD, track the movement/ utilisation, as well as to know how to improve them.
• You work closely with the departments within CXD to resolve any discrepancies that may arise, track and report on the progress of these corrective initiatives.
• You provide support and assist in computing financial modelling/ forecasting required for any new or existing initiatives and projects, to include but not limited to preparation of ROI, IRR, NPV etc.
• You are responsible to prepare and analyse segmental financial reports, such as profitability reports by channels (e.g. cost to serve by different channels of contact centre, WhatsApp, email, outbound, etc), profitability reports by customer segments, or by products, or lines of business, and any other as and when required.
• Coordinate and hold periodic meetings with key stakeholders in tracking financial movements.
• Ensure all CX Financial Reporting initiatives are aligned to the quality and brand persona of CelcomDigi.

Requirements

• You have the experience of managing and maintaining the financial management and reporting in any large consumer business.
• You have demonstrated strong appreciation and in-depth understanding of financial reporting, processes and policies related to accounting and finance, as well as full understanding of financial reports and movements.
• You are very well versed with financial methods used in computing financial viability of any initiatives/ projects such as calculating IRR, NPV, ROI etc.
• You have managed and maintained complex finance for a huge division, comprising of over 100 resources with budget amounts over RM100 million.
• You are disciplined in your way of working that you place importance in delivery of work on time and on quality with valid and accurate information.
• You have demonstrated excellent stakeholder management with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence and relate to people of all levels within the organization.

The day-to-day activities:

• Responsible for the full spectrum of GL and perform GL account reconciliation.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.

• Support Auditor in conducting internal and external audits.
• Dealing with Company secretarial and Bankers for the company’s financial related issue.
• Provide appropriate accounting information when needed.
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance to internal policies
• Ensure proper compliance in group accounting standards and local requirement

Requirements:

• Graduate degree in accounting or a related field of study
• Minimum of relevant 6 years of relevant experience ; candidates with experience in Banking / Digibank Industry Preferred
• Demonstrated skills in the utilization of automated financial systems including report generated and in the use of PCs and related software
• Broad knowledge of general accounting principles, practices and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail and ability to cope with several tasks simultaneously, be deadline oriented and able to work under pressure
• Initiative and analytical skills are mandatory

Key Responsibilities

• To be actively involved in discussion, preparation and analysis work for statutory returns particularly on MFRS 17 and MFRS 9;
• Any other ad-hoc function assigned by the Management.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy or other equivalent professional qualifications
• At least 6 year(s) of working experience in related field. Candidates with audit experience are strongly encouraged to apply
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge and experience in SAP and MicroStrategy will be an advantage
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Scope

This position of Director, Financial Reporting and Controls is within the Financial Accounting and Reporting team; whose main responsibilities is to deliver the Prudential’s Group-wide Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) programme against regulatory requirements as well as providing additional assurance to management as to the effectiveness of the overall control environment.

This role is pivotal with the key elements of leading and delivering the SOX programme on the effectiveness of the overall control environment. The Director not only will lead the end-to-end process of the Group’s SOX compliance program and other assurance engagements but will need to focus on enhancing the compliance processes to help drive overall efficiencies in the function.

The role requires high-level of interaction and relationship building and development with key stakeholders across the organisation between the business units, IFC and Angel Court reporting teams, the wider Finance community, external auditor and other teams (e.g. Group IT, Group Risk) across the Group.

Principal Accountabilities

• SOX Compliance: Lead key aspects of the Group's SOX compliance program, including the strategic design, implementation, and rigorous monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting. Effectively plan, coordinate, manage the delivery and provide technical insight and expertise to identify and resolve issues on a timely manner. Prepare high-quality reports and analysis for the Group Audit Committee (GAC) and senior management, delivering accurate, timely, and insightful information.
• Strategic Audit and Compliance Leadership: Lead the strategic design of the audit approach and planning the programme with the timeline and budget set, while staying at the forefront of changes in financial reporting and compliance regulations, providing authoritative guidance on internal control compliance and governance. Lead initiatives to identify deficiencies, assess, and mitigate financial reporting risks, ensuring robust compliance within the broader finance function.
• Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the principal liaison with senior finance and IT management teams in business units (BUs) and across other group function, facilitating effective communication and resolution of complex technical issues. Collaborate strategically with other departments, such as IT, Actuarial, Investor Relations and Group Risk, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to the assessment of internal financial controls.
• External audit: Manage the external audit relationship in relation to SOX, ensuring alignment of scope, testing approach and timing, deficiency discussion and issue resolution to ensure consistent view across BUs and the Group.
• Leadership and Talent Development: Lead, coach, and mentor the Financial Controls team members, providing constructive feedback in alignment with the Group performance management framework. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet evolving business needs.
• Process Innovation: Actively drive process improvement and innovation through implementing best practices and leveraging technology to streamline operations, including identifying efficiencies and agility of resources including third party providers.
• Business Unit Partnership: Build effective relationships with key stakeholders within the BUs and across Group Finance to deliver the related products. Provide value-added support and insights to BUs on financial reporting and controls related matters to help embed a stronger control environment across the organisation.

• Relationship Management. Maintain effective working relationships with relevant business unit teams across the Group, ensuring that Group reporting needs are communicated and understood.
• Technical knowledge. Have a strong understanding of technical issues and ability to critically review SOX results and develop the read-across with other line of defences within the organisation in order to provide insight and value add information for a senior management audience.
• Process development. Actively seek and improve the efficiency of our reporting, optimising the technology and resources available including use of third-party providers.
• Financial control and audit. Ensure that a clear audit trail exists and that controls are performed effectively and documented. Provide timely and accurate responses to the internal and external auditors.
  
  
  

Core Competences Required

• Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience;
• A good knowledge of regulatory requirements specifically in SOX 404, COSO Framework, and proven experience of sound knowledge of financial reporting and controls, with a preference to candidates with listed company experience and/or financial service industries;
• Proven track record of effective product delivery to senior stakeholders;
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail without losing the ‘bigger picture’ view;
• Able to think flexibly and open to innovative ideas, with strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm to improve processes;
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to liaise with stakeholders from different specialisms in various locations and at various levels of seniority;
• Ability to communicate succinctly and explain complex issues to others;
• Comfortable with using complex IT systems and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) though advanced skill is not expected;
