The role of
Associate Director – Equity Capital Markets, SEA
is responsible for preparing materials for origination efforts as well as executing live transactions. These transactions would include deals in the ECM space such as IPOs, placements, preferential offerings, rights issues, etc.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Prior Investment Banking experience, preferably in Southeast Asia, is a plus

Penultimate year Undergraduate/Master’s student with outstanding academic achievement seeking a summer internship with a pipeline to 2027 full-time employment

Must demonstrate a track record of superior performance in extracurricular and professional activities

Demonstrate a combination of strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client-focused

Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and oral communications skills

Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, team focus

Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities. Comfortable with change and adjust to changing demands and requirements

Demonstrates energy & drive and dedication to building a career in the investment banking industry

Fluency in English is essential, appropriate Asian language skills are also essential

What you’ll do As a Summer Analyst, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Developing and maintaining complex financial models

Performing various financial analyses, including valuations and merger consequences

Conducting comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research

Preparation of presentation and other materials for clients

Participation in due diligence sessions, communications and interaction with deal team members

Management of several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team. Work on projects alongside bankers in specific industry, product and country coverage groups, providing you with a unique learning opportunity

Help the team deliver solutions to clients leveraging full spectrum of the bank's capabilities

Develop and leverage upon a truly global network - learn from, and work with, teams consisting of professionals drawn from across the business, including senior bankers within your group, experts in other areas of the firm and colleagues from around the globe

Build relationships, knowledge and experience that will open doors to a wide range of future career options and opportunities

Our Summer Analyst program is designed to offer you a broad and exciting experience of work as a full time Investment Banking Analyst. During the summer you will be placed within one of our industry, country or product coverage teams. Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the program in addition to on the job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

Unique to Bank of America is our provision of a Chief Resource Officer (CRO). The CRO’s role is to manage and optimize the junior banker experience. The CRO partners closely with senior leadership to instill the firm’s culture, to ensure work/life balance and to provide a well-rounded, fun and value-add experience for junior bankers.

In some countries, Summer Analysts are placed in a generalist team which means a 'staffer' will staff you on projects in specific industry, product and country coverage groups. In others, Summer Analysts are placed directly with a specific team throughout the internship. Team placement is determined by considering business needs and the interests/skills of the Summer Analyst.

Program Overview The Summer Program is a 10-week program designed to provide Summer Analysts with a unique opportunity to gain an exposure to life at Bank of America and also make significant contributions to the team. The Summer Program begins with an orientation and induction to the firm. Summer Analysts are given a true associate experience, as assignments mirror full-time responsibility and include goal-setting and a formal review process.

Overview

ARC Group is a Global Investment Bank, U.S.-Licensed Underwriter/Broker-Dealer and Management Consulting firm with a presence in Asia and a global reach. The Capital Markets team supports transaction origination for IPOs, SPAC IPOs, DeSPAC transactions, reverse mergers, follow-on offerings, and post-listing public company support.

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is a full-time role for the Capital Markets Analyst in our Kuala Lumpur office.

Responsibilities
  • Generation of new leads and potential partners.
  • Cultivation of in-depth knowledge of clients’ business, keeping abreast of industry activities, market trends and leading practices, and translation of market reports.
  • Preparation of project proposals, project decks, documents required in order to get engaged, and necessary translation.
  • Follow-up on project progress and participation in the entire transaction process, from the LOI stage to the completion of the project.
  • Participation in client meetings and support team negotiations during the engagement.
  • Understanding the dynamic and ever-changing capital markets and regulatory environment in cross-border and the U.S.
  • Deep participation in the transaction process and maintaining a good network of relationships with different partners.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent academic background, preferably professional qualification in financial analysis/accounting/legal valuation.
  • 1-3 years of financial analysis/investment banking/accounting related experience in a well-known bank or professional company is preferred.
  • Solid corporate finance knowledge and skills in valuation/pricing techniques, DCF, comparable companies/transaction multiples.
  • Full proficiency in English; knowledge of Mandarin or Japanese is a plus.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Ability to articulate ideas with confidence; natural enthusiasm for sales.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to achieve a high level of success.
Duration

This is a full-time position beginning with a 6-month on-site training/probation period, after which successful candidates may be offered a permanent role.

Location

The position will be based in our office in Kuala Lumpur.
