  • Hands-on Content Creation & Editing: Actively participate in content creation, including
    video shooting, photography, and editing, to ensure that content is dynamic, engaging,
    and on-trend. Be ready to step in for content editing across platforms as needed,
    ensuring timely and high-quality output.
  • Content Coordination & Execution: Oversee content production across all platforms
    (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube), working closely with creative teams
    for visuals and content creators for platform-specific content.
  • Community Engagement: Manage online communities by responding to comments,
    fostering conversations, and ensuring the brand tone is consistently reflected.

Your Know-How

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in social media marketing, with proven success in managing

  • Strong knowledge of social media tools and platforms, with practical experience in
    creating and editing social media content (video editing, photo editing, graphic design).
  • Hands-on experience with content creation, including shooting and editing videos and

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan, create, and schedule content for social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and others.
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns that align with brand goals and target audience.

Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, or related field.

We're looking for a creative and driven social media manager to join the Lumi News team! Work closely with our senior social media manager on content execution, championing growth, and fine-tuning strategy.

  • Social media content management and growth: Break the news, inform millions of Malaysians, and make a difference with your content! Create engaging reels and publish informative posts on Malaysia's hottest topics including news, politics, entertainment, tech, and lifestyle on Lumi's social media channels such as Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and more.
  • Copywriting and proofreading: get involved in copywriting efforts in English and BM (plus Mandarin if you can!) for app translations, push notifications, press releases, marketing efforts, and more.
  • Execution of content-driven initiatives: craft client content, conduct interviews, attend events, experiment with different formats, get involved in marketing campaigns, push breaking news notifications, assist in content management on the Lumi News app, and participate in all other content efforts that lead to Lumi's growth!
  • Stay up to date with trends, innovative content formats, best practices, and the evolution of our audience's interests.
  • Collaborate with other teams to work towards shared goals.

Job Requirements
  • Passion for news and social media: You know the latest news, trends, and local sentiments of the hottest headlines in Malaysia.
  • Content creator qualities: You must be equipped with content creation skills and care about producing high-impact quality content (and high engagement numbers too). You're confident in navigating multiple social media platforms and understanding best practices and differences in reaching audiences on the platforms.
  • Fluency in language: You must be fluent in written and spoken English (fluency in BM/Chinese would be a plus!) and possess a knack for proofreading, and fact-checking.
  • Visual creature: Must be proficient with Capcut and Canva. It's easy for you to edit reels and posts quickly! You should be detailed and great at visualising information.
  • Fast, open, and adventurous: You have a growth mindset and is always open to trying new things. You're not afraid of experiments and embracing new ideas! You work well with people and you take edits and feedback well. You're ready to post whenever there's breaking news, including after-office hours and weekends.
  • You want to be part of a team that educates and entertains Malaysians with engaging content!
