Job Description

As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive social media plans based on the communication strategy provided by the Marketing Manager. You have a deep understanding of Malaysia’s social media landscape, staying up to date with the latest trends, conversational topics, and cultural moments. Quick to spot and apply relevant trends, you will ensure our content remains fresh, timely, and highly engaging. You will also coordinate content production with creative teams (for visual design) and content creators (for social channels), driving brand awareness and growing CARSOME’s social media presence. Monitoring performance and making data-driven adjustments will be essential to your role as well.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Strategy Development: Create and implement full social media strategies aligned with
    marketing objectives and overall business goals.
  • Hands-on Content Creation & Editing: Actively participate in content creation, including
    video shooting, photography, and editing, to ensure that content is dynamic, engaging,
    and on-trend. Be ready to step in for content editing across platforms as needed,
    ensuring timely and high-quality output.
  • Content Coordination & Execution: Oversee content production across all platforms
    (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube), working closely with creative teams
    for visuals and content creators for platform-specific content.
  • Community Engagement: Manage online communities by responding to comments,
    fostering conversations, and ensuring the brand tone is consistently reflected.
  • Campaign Implementation: Lead the execution of digital campaigns from start to finish,
    aligning them with the marketing calendar and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Track key social media metrics, providing insights
    and data-driven recommendations for optimizing performance and audience
    engagement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with creative, performance, and PR teams to
    ensure all content and messaging remain consistent and aligned with the broader
    marketing strategy.
  • Trend Monitoring & Platform Optimization: Stay current with social media trends, tools,
    and platform updates, adapting strategies to maximize reach and engagement. Be quick
    to spot relevant trends and incorporate them into content.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide your social media team, including senior
    executives, content creators, and live commerce hosts, to ensure smooth coordination
    and execution.

Your Know-How

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in social media marketing, with proven success in managing
    brand presence across multiple platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of social media tools and platforms, with practical experience in
    creating and editing social media content (video editing, photo editing, graphic design).
  • Hands-on experience with content creation, including shooting and editing videos and
    photos, for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency in editing software such as Canva, CapCut, or other tools relevant to social
    media content production.
  • Proven track record of growing and engaging online communities and executing
    successful campaigns.
  • Experience with campaign management and handling paid social media budgets.
  • Strong analytical skills to track performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a creative flair for engaging content.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and manage a team while working
    collaboratively with other departments.
  • Up-to-date with social media trends and conversational topics in Malaysia, with the ability
    to quickly adapt and incorporate them into content strategies.

Role Description

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to join our team full-time at our office in Jalan Ampang. This isn’t just about scheduling posts or chasing trends, it’s about creating meaningful content and building real connections with our community.

You’ll lead the charge on our social platforms, craft impactful campaigns, work closely with our creative and content teams, and make sure our voice stays true to our purpose. You’ll also keep an eye on what’s working, what’s not, and what could be better, always with the goal of bringing value to our audience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Plan, execute, and manage social media campaigns across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)

• Develop and maintain a strong, consistent voice for ikhlas.com

• Write copy that inspires, educates, and engages

• Work with our content, design, branding and marketing teams to roll out creative strategies

• Keep tabs on analytics and adjust strategies for best results

• Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in the social media world

• Engage with our community, answer questions, respond to comments, and spark conversations

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on experience in social media marketing and content strategy

• Strong copywriting and communication skills (bonus if you’re witty and relatable!)

• Solid understanding of SMO (Social Media Optimization) and analytics tools

• A passion for storytelling and community building

• Collaborative spirit and ability to work well in a fast-moving team

• A good understanding of Islamic practices and Muslim communities is a big plus

As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive social media plans based on the communication strategy provided by the Marketing Manager. You have a deep understanding of Malaysia’s social media landscape, staying up to date with the latest trends, conversational topics, and cultural moments. Quick to spot and apply relevant trends, you will ensure our content remains fresh, timely, and highly engaging. You will also coordinate content production with creative teams (for visual design) and content creators (for social channels), driving brand awareness and growing CARSOME’s social media presence. Monitoring performance and making data-driven adjustments will be essential to your role as well. Your Day-to-Day Strategy Development: Create and implement full social media strategies aligned with marketing objectives and overall business goals. Hands-on Content Creation & Editing: Actively participate in content creation, including video shooting, photography, and editing, to ensure that content is dynamic, engaging, and on-trend. Be ready to step in for content editing across platforms as needed, ensuring timely and high-quality output. Content Coordination & Execution: Oversee content production across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube), working closely with creative teams for visuals and content creators for platform-specific content. Community Engagement: Manage online communities by responding to comments, fostering conversations, and ensuring the brand tone is consistently reflected. Campaign Implementation: Lead the execution of digital campaigns from start to finish, aligning them with the marketing calendar and ensuring timely delivery. Performance Analysis & Reporting: Track key social media metrics, providing insights and data-driven recommendations for optimizing performance and audience engagement. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with creative, performance, and PR teams to ensure all content and messaging remain consistent and aligned with the broader marketing strategy. Trend Monitoring & Platform Optimization: Stay current with social media trends, tools, and platform updates, adapting strategies to maximize reach and engagement. Be quick to spot relevant trends and incorporate them into content. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide your social media team, including senior executives, content creators, and live commerce hosts, to ensure smooth coordination and execution. Your Know-How Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 4-5 years of experience in social media marketing, with proven success in managing brand presence across multiple platforms. Strong knowledge of social media tools and platforms, with practical experience in creating and editing social media content (video editing, photo editing, graphic design). Hands-on experience with content creation, including shooting and editing videos and photos, for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Proficiency in editing software such as Canva, CapCut, or other tools relevant to social media content production. Proven track record of growing and engaging online communities and executing successful campaigns. Experience with campaign management and handling paid social media budgets. Strong analytical skills to track performance and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a creative flair for engaging content. Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and manage a team while working collaboratively with other departments. Up-to-date with social media trends and conversational topics in Malaysia, with the ability to quickly adapt and incorporate them into content strategies.
