Job Description

Purpose Statement: Ensure corporate philosophy and guidance on security practices is utilized, including the establishment and maintenance of region specific security policies. Provide direct oversight on the contract security programs, at assigned company locations.

Key Job Accountabilities
  • Implement, manage and assist in executing the overall corporate security philosophy, including policies and SOPs which provide guidance to assigned facilities.
  • Lead the assigned Security team by utilizing a "How can I help" relationship building approach for all visitors, vendors and employees contacts.
  • Assist Corporate Security with security audits and/or locally administered evaluations to help detect areas of vulnerability or misalignment.
  • Advise Plexus regional leadership, as well as site leadership on applicable security initiatives, risks, and necessary areas of attention or focus in order to maintain the desired level of safety and security for employees and guests.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Security Manager and Corporate Facilities team to ensure physical and technological equipment required by the Plexus Site Minimum Standards is acquired and properly maintained.
  • Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the related field, or a Master’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. May require previous supervisory experience.

Job Description

The Security Manager is an integral member of both the Johor site community and the Global Security team. Reporting to the Regional APAC Sr. Security Manager, the role will collaborate extensively across the global security team and with other partners on and off site in the strategy, design, development, implementation and delivery of the physical security program.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Under both directed and self-initiated actions, manage and oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of security programs, procedures, systems and technology, to ensure the overall security and safety of Western Digital personnel, visitors, facilities, data and assets
  • Effectively collaborate, communicate and engage with multiple global security partners and stakeholders, developing strong working relationships to ensure superior operational outcomes and security service delivery
  • Manage the vendor security relationship and support the on-site vendor security team and the in-house security team in the delivery of site security responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of physical security and CapEx projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and ensure alignment to specified strategic objectives, timelines and budget constraints
  • Support multiple internal and external audits and compliance processes
  • Proactively identify security good practice, gaps, vulnerabilities and look to drive improvement across all areas of global and local security delivery, related capital projects, our supported events and requests from other business units.
  • 5 years related work experience within security, safety, or risk management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior supervisory, in a security facing role
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development within the security sector.
Qualifications

  • Preferred experience is from delivering security programs within a corporate environment. Alternatively, experience within a security organization, law enforcement, military, intelligence, public service or risk management environment would be considered
  • Experience of overseeing access control and CCTV systems and related processes in a distributed campus environment

Managing Security/Loss Prevention Operations

Manage physical security for Broadcom sites in Penang

  13. Investigate all cases of accidents, fire, theft, etc., including all correspondence relating to those losses, accidents, locker and etc.
  14. Conduct walk through observations of entire theme park.
  15. Provides information, signs, posters, barriers and other materials to warn of potential or actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
  16. Secures facilities, equipment, assets and provides safety by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, and staffing access points.  Prevents loss and damage by reporting irregularities; enforcing policy and procedures; and restricting access to trespassers.
  17. Prepares incident reports for any losses or accidents, completes investigations by gathering evidence, conducting interviews, including taking statements, photographs, collecting documents, and coordinating with law enforcement personnel when appropriate.
  18. Resolves emergency situations by coordinating with management, and directing actions
  19. Establishes a plan for the on-site First Aid Facility and oversees the administration of the facility after park opening.
  20. Advises management on measures to be taken against frauds, cheating and delinquent cases, etc.

Requirements

  1. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with certification as a safety professional.
  2. Preferable with heavy law enforcement or security related background with experience in managing security staff.
  3. Proven success in managing safety and security issues in a theme park or similar environment.
  4. Demonstrated experience overseeing safety initiatives and reducing risk in a theme park, high traffic hotel, retail or similar environment.
  5. Prior success in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with insurance adjusters, brokers and legal firm to ensure effective risk management and proper handling of all claims.

Qualifications

SPM or equivalent (minimum)

Diploma in Security Management / Occupational Safety / related field is an added advantage

Experience
:

  • 2–3 years of experience in the security industry
  • Prior exposure to
    CCTV monitoring, patrolling, and incident management
  • Experience liaising with site management or handling client-facing responsibilities

Skills
:

  • Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
  • Report writing and incident documentation skills (basic computer/MS Office skills an advantage)
  • Ability to coordinate and conduct basic security awareness training
  • Good interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, management, and authorities

Personal Traits
:

  • Physically fit and mentally alert (able to perform 12-hour rotational shifts)
  • High integrity, discipline, and reliability
  • Professional grooming and communication (English proficiency is required; Bahasa Malaysia is a plus)
