Primary Responsibilities

Manage physical security for Broadcom sites in Penang

• be responsible for the overall physical security for the Broadcom sites in Penang which currently include a mixed-use manufacturing site and a finished good warehouse
• be subject matter expert for all physical security needs
• assist & advise leadership, both local & global, in setting and implementing of security & visitor policies, develop and maintain security training & awareness programs for all new and existing employees and on-site contractors
• manage physical security guard service per Broadcom Workplace Services (WPS) strategies (currently outsource)
• manage Security Operation Centre (SOC) for the Penang sites & APAC sites when required; provide regular report & data analysis leading to continuous improvements
• ensure all security equipment, such as security access control system, digital clocking system, access readers, building alarm system, CCTVs, scanners, etc., are in good operation conditions to support operation needs (most hardware are currently supported by other Broadcom teams)
• be responsible for security surveillance, incident investigation & report

**A Day in the Life**
The APAC Security Manager will perform the full range of security program related to the protection of Medtronic's tangible and intangible assets, including; facility security, incident and crisis response, work place violence prevention, travel security, threat assessment/ mitigation, risk assessment, investigations, executive protection, education/ training and driving a strong security culture.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
+ Provides daily management and coordination of all physical security activities across the region.
+ Supports the Senior Regional Security Manager with the implementation of physical security policies, plans, and procedures across the region.
+ Conducts remote and onsite security assessments of facilities, identifying and mitigating threats in accordance with corporate policies, standards, and guidelines.
+ Represents physical security in facility projects, providing security design and managing the deployment of security controls, as well as implementing necessary standard operating procedures.
+ Acts as the representative of Global Physical Security within the region to promote a coordinated approach to security matters, liaising locally with key stakeholders such as Senior Management, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Facilities, Communications, and Legal.
+ Provides guidance and interpretation of security standards, practices, and programs to support regional and global business and security initiatives.
+ Identifies and mitigates threats in accordance with Medtronic's workplace violence and threat management program.
+ Conducts, directs, and oversees internal investigations related to threats against Medtronic, its property, employees, or interests, in coordination with other relevant functions. Reviews and evaluates all security-related incidents and makes recommendations to prevent recurrence.
+ Monitors the region for risks to Medtronic's assets and its business operations, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
+ Ensures that the crisis management program runs efficiently across the region. Supports the readiness of sub-regional/country crisis management teams and serves as the physical security point of contact
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree, ideally in security management, law, criminal justice, international relations or from a technical institution
+ Master's degree in the above fields preferred
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience within the security field, ideally in an international corporate environment
+ Relevant security certifications (CPP, CSMP, PSP, APP, etc.) would be considered as an asset

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree, ideally in security management, law, criminal justice, international relations or from a technical institution Master’s degree in the above fields preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience within the security field, ideally in an international corporate environment Relevant security certifications (CPP, CSMP, PSP, APP, etc.) would be considered as an asset

Primary Responsibilities Manage physical security for Broadcom sites in Penang. Be responsible for the overall physical security for the Broadcom sites in Penang, including a manufacturing site and a warehouse. Serve as the subject matter expert for all physical security needs. Assist and advise leadership, both local and global, in setting and implementing security and visitor policies. Develop and maintain security training and awareness programs for all employees and contractors. Manage physical security guard services in accordance with Broadcom Workplace Services (WPS) strategies (currently outsourced). Manage Security Operation Centre (SOC) operations for the Penang sites and APAC sites when required; provide reports and data analysis for continuous improvement. Ensure all security equipment (access control systems, CCTV, alarms, scanners, etc.) are operational to support security needs. Handle security surveillance, incident investigation, and reporting. Oversee emergency response planning, team setup, and training; support crisis management and contingency planning. Manage stakeholder relationships. Establish and maintain relationships with Batu Kawan & District Police and relevant agencies. Other Responsibilities Support Facilities Manager for Penang sites and act as backup for facilities management activities. Ensure compliance with Broadcom's Environment and Sustainability Policy and Occupational Health and Safety Policy. Coordinate ISO14001 activities for the Penang site. Perform assigned intra- and cross-functional tasks. Requirements University Degree or major in security management, law enforcement, engineering, or related fields, with additional security qualifications. At least 5 years of supervisory experience in security or law enforcement fields. Knowledge or hands-on experience with security access control systems such as Lenel & CCure. Report Regional WPS scope includes all Broadcom sites in APAC region. Location Primary: Batu Kawan Warehouse. Willingness to travel between sites. Broadcom is an equal opportunity employer.
