Magnequench is the preferred magnetic solutions provider in the bonded NdFeB magnet industry manufacturing and selling magnetic powder and polymer bonded magnets throughout the Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. Our products are used to provide high performance magnetics for automotive, media storage, appliance industries and various other industries. Recently MQ is expanding its product portfolio to include NdFeB sintered magnets. The Magnequench research and development team in Singapore is looking for a Research Scientist to join our team to develop high-performance NdFeB sintered magnets. Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Lead, plan and execute R&D projects on NdFeB sintered magnets.
- Develop new magnet alloys, processes and products with minimal supervision.
- Provide tech support for sintered magnet mass production at Narva, Estonia.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams involving engineering and R&D at manufacturing locations and regional sales managers.
- Demonstrate competence in the use of all relevant processing, test and analytical equipment.
- Provide technical supervision to associate scientists.
- Document all phases of assigned projects; write complete reports.
- Assist in preparing patent applications/publications/meeting presentations/knowledge notes.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe workplace.
- Conduct other work as required in Materials and Magnetics Laboratories.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree (preferred) or master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Physics, with thesis in permanent magnetic materials (preferred in NdFeB sintered magnets).
- 0-5 years of post-graduate research experience, preferably in NdFeB sintered magnets.
- Hands-on experimental skills in NdFeB sintered magnets fabrication technology.
- Knowledge of NdFeB permanent magnets and their processing-microstructure-property relationship.
- Ability to analyze and work through technical and/or scientific problems.
- Ability to travel occasionally to our manufacturing sites in Europe and Asia.
- Good communication and presentation skills (in English).
- Highly motivated, team player.

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative AI Research Scientist to lead the development and improvement of AI models focused on oral lesion detection as part of the MeMoSA (Mobile Mouth Screening Anywhere) project. This role is pivotal in advancing our institution’s work in medical AI and setting the foundation for building a dedicated in-house AI research team in the long term. The candidate is expected to be able to work independently but will receive support from our established collaborators from Malaysia and the UK.
SCOPE / PURPOSE OF JOB
Short-Term Objectives (Year 1–2 ):
- Improve and optimize existing oral lesion detection AI models using the latest deep learning and computer vision techniques
- Develop novel, bias-aware, transparent , and explainable AI approaches to improve clinical trust and applicability.
- Collaborate with dental and medical experts to ensure clinical relevance and data validity
- Conduct experiments, analyze model performance, and produce high-quality technical documentation and research papers.
- Manage data pre-processing pipelines, annotation quality checks, and model evaluation metrics.
Long-Term Objectives:
- Support the recruitment and mentoring of junior researchers or AI engineers as we build an internal AI team.
- Propose and lead new AI research projects in healthcare beyond oral lesion detection (e.g., predictive analytics, other imaging modalities, NLP for healthcare records).
- Contribute to the design of a scalable AI research infrastructure within the institution.
Qualifications
PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science , Artificial Intelligence , Machine Learning , Biomedical Engineering , or related fields.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on e xperience in deep learning, preferably in medica l imaging (experience with oral or dental images is a plus)
- Strong understanding of model fairness, bias m itigation, explainabil ity (XAI), and ethical AI .
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with tools and libraries for interpretability (e.g., SHAP, LIME, Grad-CAM).
- Track record of publications in reputable AI or medical imaging conferences/journals is highly desirable.
- Experience in leading small research or development projects is a plus.

Job Requirement:
- PhD in applied physics, optics and photonics, electrical engineering or materials science.

Successful candidate will work within a R&D team developing purification process and analytics for biotherapeutics production. Main responsibilities include:
- Be able to work as a lead scientist for the development of purification process and analytics for the production of a variety of emerging biotherapeutics, such as bispecific and multi-specific antibodies, vaccines, viral vectors and nucleic acid therapies.
- Be able to lead a few research officers to work on different industrial collaboration projects and in-house projects.
- Design and execute experiments based on proposed project scopes.
- Routinely run purification systems and crossflow systems for biotherapeutics purification and handle a range of analytical equipment for biotherapeutics characterization.
- Analyze data, interpret results and plan the next step.
- Regularly update project progress in internal and external project meetings and prepare project reports.
- Be compete at scientific writing, including scientific publication and grant application proposal.
- Perform general lab housekeeping and other administrative tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- A PhD Degree in biochemical engineering, biochemistry, protein engineering or a related field with commensurate experience.
- Broad experience with preparative chromatography, including affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, size exclusion, etc.
- Broad experience with other separation techniques, including clarification, filtration, precipitation, etc.
- Broad experience with bioassay and analytical technology, including ELISA, HPLC, PCR, SDS-PAGE, western-blot, DLS, etc.
