Senior Associate - Valuation role at PwC, based in Kuala Lumpur. Requirements

  • Possesses undergraduate or master’s degree in accounting, finance or business majors from a recognized university with outstanding academic credentials or professional qualifications such as CFA, CVA, ICAEW, ACCA, FMVA and CFM. Professional certification such as CVA, CFA will be highly regarded.
  • Ideally, 2 to 5 years of relevant working experience in business valuation, auditing, M&A, investment banking, private equity, or equity research.
  • Possesses good financial modelling skills, including building financial models from scratch and reviewing clients’ models.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, an inquisitive mindset, a logical thought process, and the ability to simplify complex issues and lead your team to complete the engagements efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate and present ideas confidently for the board of directors and senior management team, as well as to communicate effectively across various offering teams and to your teams.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex valuation engagements across diverse industries and client types.As part of the Valuation team, you’ll be involved in technically challenging assignments that span:* **Mergers & Acquisitions:** Supporting clients on both the buy-side and sell-side with valuation insights that drive negotiation and decision-making.* **Financial Modelling & Valuation Analysis:** Building and reviewing detailed financial models to support a variety of valuation purposes, including strategic transactions, dispute resolution, and financial reporting.* **Financial Reporting Valuations:** Assisting clients with valuations for purchase price allocations (PPA), intangible assets, impairment testing, and other financial reporting requirements in compliance with MFRS/IFRS.* **Dispute & Litigation Support:** Providing independent valuations for shareholder disputes, legal proceedings, and regulatory reviews.* **Fund & Portfolio Valuations:** Advising fund managers and institutional investors on the valuation of illiquid or unlisted assets.You’ll work closely with local and international clients, tapping into our global network to deliver technically robust and commercially sound advice.
