The role will be responsible for the financial controlling for our activities in Malaysia ( ), Payment Business ( ) and Group .
You are responsible for financial reporting and regulatory compliance . You will supervise the daily activities of the accounting team and manage the professional development of direct reports.
You will also partner closely with business leaders on critical projects and business strategy planning . This is a high-volume , demanding role requiring exceptional leadership, rapid learning ability, and strong project management skills.
What you will do:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the finance and accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, statutory, tax, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee and enhance financial reporting processes, including group consolidation, external audits, and IFRS-compliant reporting.
- Develop, implement, and document robust business processes and internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities; analyze and explain variances to management.
- Support corporate finance activities, including due diligence, business expansion, and investor reporting.
- Serve as a key finance partner to Malaysian and Payment Business leadership, providing financial insights and support for business projects and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and upskill junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders.

What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory experience; experience in fast-paced environments or startups is highly valued
- Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, MFRS) and relevant regulations, eg FRS 9, 7, 32 and 15
