As a Lorry Driver, you will be responsible for managing delivery documentation including invoices and delivery orders in a timely manner. You will also ensure documentation storage is done properly and is accessible when required.
Responsibilities- Ensures permanent Safety and Quality behavior
- Respects regulations and internal AL rules about safety policies, operating procedures, dangerous materials, and ISO quality standards.
- Reacts spontaneously when an incident or an accident occurs, takes the first emergency actions and informs the hierarchy.
- Sensibilises customers or colleagues on safety and quality issues
- Applies road transportation regulation for the product concerned and drives carefully.
- Must not drive or be required to drive when feeling tired. If he becomes tired while driving, he shall stop. Ensures the vehicle is parked in a safe and secure location.
- Ensures bulk delivery trips according to dispatching plan
- Drives the truck according to the provided planned route (including loading/unloading points and order) to achieve the dispatching plan
- Respects maximum daily driving hours and on-duty driving hours, whichever are more stringent between country legal requirements or subsidiary requirements
- Inspects the vehicle before every trip
- Maintains the vehicle in good operating condition and ensures regular cleaning for a professional image
- Performs loading and delivery operations and applies loading/unloading procedures at plant and customer facilities
- Checks visually the good operating conditions at customer facilities
- Informs the dispatcher or carrier manager in case of malfunctions detected at customer facilities
- Completes documentation and transfers relevant information, including trip documents and delivery notes
- Signs delivery notes and obtains customer signatures
- Informs dispatcher or transport manager if customer access is impossible
- Informs dispatcher or transport manager about any useful information (e.g., vessel not fully filled at customer site, unsuitable roads, congested areas, waiting time at plant facilities)
- Hold a current and valid Class E driving license.
- Have 1-2 years of experience driving Class E vehicles.
- Demonstrate the ability to safely operate vehicles.
- Exhibit a strong customer orientation and commitment to providing excellent service.
- Forklift driving experience will be an added advantage.
