Summary

  • The Lecturer (Economics) is responsible for delivering quality teaching, guiding students in their learning and assessments, and contributing to research and academic events. The role also includes providing academic advice, preparing course materials, and supporting departmental initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned courses and ensure full coverage of the prescribed syllabi in a clear and logical sequence.
  • Guide and assist students in understanding course topics, assignments, and preparing for final examinations.
  • Prepare, set, and grade assignments, term papers, and examination scripts (including trial exams).
  • Provide timely responses to students' academic queries and give regular guidance to support their academic progress.
  • Prepare student term reports and maintain proper academic records.
  • Invigilate examinations and ensure proper conduct during assessments.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to departmental discussions as required by the Head of Department.
  • Advise students on appropriate academic and career pathways upon course completion.
  • Represent the institution at exhibition fairs and other academic events as assigned.
  • Conduct research in relevant areas, publish academic papers, and present at conferences in consultation with the Head of Department.

Requirements

  • At least Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics or any related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at tertiary level.
  • Possess an active teaching permit.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and academic counselling skills.
  • Proven research and publication experience.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist in the integration of our inventory management processes into the Savvy system. This role offers hands-on experience in inventory operations, data handling, and system implementation. The intern will also assist other departments as needed and carry out any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.

1. Migration and Integration of inventory data into Savvy ERP system

· Support data cleaning, validation, and formatting to ensure accuracy and consistency.

· Collaborate with team members to document processes and identify areas for improvement.

· Assist in determining inventory costing during the transition process.

· Participate in testing and feedback sessions for system features and workflows.

· Liaise with procurement department to gather costing information and ensure data accuracy.

· Coordinate with vessel PICs to facilitate project completion and data verification.

· Coordinate with the Savvy team to support the implementation and rollout of the system.

· Participate in meetings and discussions related to project planning, execution, and system implementation.

· Explore opportunities to adopt programming and AI tools to automate tasks and improve project efficiency.

2. Others

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, IT, Data Analytics, or related field

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data cleaning, formatting, basic formulas)

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education (bachelor's degree or equivalent) in a technical or business-related discipline
