. As an Accountant, you will be reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and will be responsible for the assigned subsidiaries in various jurisdictions within the Coda Group. This will include the monthly closing process, tax compliance obligations, statutory compliance obligations, and other accounting matters. Responsibilities
Responsible for all accounting matters of the assigned subsidiaries within the Coda group. Liaise with and review the work of outsourced accounting service providers in various countries to ensure accounts are submitted in a timely and accurate manner for Group consolidation as part of our monthly closing process. Work collaboratively with internal finance teams to ensure that the financials and tax compliance obligations for the subsidiaries in various countries are completed accurately and timely. Provide support in the Group and subsidiaries’ audit process which involves the preparation of supporting documents and financial statements. Provide support in the preparation of reports required by stakeholders Be involved in process-improvement projects to ensure that routine tasks are being done more efficiently. Requirements
Degree or Professional Qualification in Accountancy At least 5 years of working experience, preferably with some audit background. Proficient in working with Excel. Familiarity with using Netsuite would be a plus. **Purpose of Role**
We are looking for an Accountant who is hands-on, analytical, driven, enjoys solving problems, managing large volumes of data and ensuring the accuracy of financial postings across a multi-store retail environment. **Your Impact**
+ Oversee daily retail accounting tasks, including posting of retail sales statements and reconciling daily bank transactions.
+ Perform reconciliation and settlement activities for credit cards, cash, gift cards, mall vouchers, and marketplace platforms, including handling variance adjustments.
+ Liaise with merchant banks to resolve transaction disputes (e.g., duplicate charges), follow up on refunds, and ensure accurate documentation through merchant portals.
+ Prepare and post journal entries related to store collections, sales by payment mode, payment variances, shortfalls, expired vouchers, and GTO entries.
+ Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, assist with interbank fund transfers and respond to audit queries with appropriate documentation.
+ Support terminal requests and installations for new store openings, submit GTO reports to landlords, and coordinate with external auditors on audited sales statements.
+ Review and process inventory transfer orders, post inventory journals, and manage stock take variances and adjustments.
+ Assist with various finance-related ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform the financial month end closing and prepare monthly financial statements for inactive entities in Australia. Review/ prepare monthly/ quarterly/ annual analysis of financial results – clear articulation and comparisons of financial results. Generate recurring (monthly and quarterly) standardised reports on key areas related to the subsidiaries/ BUs. Identify possible red flags and areas of concern in the subsidiaries/ BUs (e.g., impairment of carrying value, erosion of value, overspending, production volumes, etc.). Review annual budget submission, periodic forecasting, budget monitoring, tax compliance, tax planning, and adherence to all relevant accounting policies. Assists in cash flow planning of the subsidiaries/ BUs, taking into consideration requirements of other BUs of the Group. Work closely with subsidiaries/ BU’s Finance department and reporting team, to enhance quality and timeliness of deliverables, includes information included in quarterly announcements to Bursa Malaysia. Promote consistency and alignment of processes/ format across subsidiaries/ BUs and support process improvement in relevant finance-related areas. Assist in the evaluation of corporate exercises, including acquisition of assets and fund-raising activities, where required. Other ad-hoc duties prescribed by the CFO and immediate supervisor to assist in achieving the Finance department’s objectives.
