DESIGNATION: Test Automation
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS
• Carry out tasks in accordance with the QC framework which includes establishing and tracking quality assurance metrics, establishing test automation, designing test cases, and efficiently increasing test coverage.
• Responsible for timely completion of quality tests within project timelines, ensuring they are free from defects and meet company standards and procedures.
• Meet the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development.
• Required to write scripts for automation testing.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
- Ensure test procedures are well documented for reusability and compliance with standards.
- Document software defects using a tracking system and report defects to the software development team.
- Maintain and write new automation scripts for functional and regression testing.
- Design, develop, execute, and be responsible for bespoke test automation frameworks to cater to all test automation needs of various projects/products.
- Review application and automation code to ensure adherence to guidelines and standards.
- Ensure that all testing is done systematically; identify and log test failures; ensure all failures are re-tested.
- Perform Static Testing: Validate accuracy and completeness of requirements using the requirement document.
- Define and prepare the following documents:
- Requirement review checklist
- Requirement Traceability Matrix
- Test Scenario and Test Case
- Build and Update Application Regression Test Suite with respect to current requirements.
- Build Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Data.
- Build, Update, and execute all testing types documented in the test plan such as smoke test, functional test, non-functional test, performance test, security test, etc.
- Ensure handshake from SIT/QA to UAT: share Test Cases, Test Results, and Defect Logs with the Biz users.
- Conduct regular Defect Triage meetings and Defect Reporting to discuss critical and high-impacting defects for prioritization and fixing.
- Perform Regression Testing: Execute the Regression Test Suite at the end of each type of testing, which could be Full or Partial Regression Testing based on changes in functionality.
- Conduct causal analysis of all defects raised during various types of testing, especially escaped defects.
- Perform Test Phase Quality Review along with all impacted stakeholders.
- Conduct end-to-end testing on the Mobile automation platform.
- Verify data via backend DB and GUI.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• Strong analytical and logical skills.
• Experience with Agile and SDLC methodologies.
• Proficiency in technical testing.
• Effective time and work planning abilities.
• Experience in test management and defect management.
• Attention to detail with the ability to create clear and precise reports.
• Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, Sauce Labs, and Jira.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in automation testing.
• Knowledgeable in both General and Life insurance domains.
• Experience in Web and Mobile testing.
