This role is based in our Kuala Lumpur office and supports
1st line risk management activities
for the Asian Transfer Agency platforms
. The analyst will assist in identifying, monitoring, and reporting operational risks, ensuring alignment with FNZ's Risk Management Framework.
We are looking for a self-starter, an expert in developing risk capabilities and someone who can support the delivery of the accurate and compliant service of the Transfer Agency team to our clients and their underlying investors on behalf of FNZ.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Process
- Ensuring delivery of quality, accurate Risk Events to clients in a timely manner, with appropriate assessment of regulatory impact
- Partnering with our client base to ensure Risk Events and causal themes are challenged to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence.
- Responding to client enquiries in a prompt and professional manner
- Production of Risk Event Management Information monthly.
- Identifying efficiencies and improvements in the process related to quality and timeliness.
- Partnering with the business to improve the control environment
- Assisting in driving quality action plans (events and audits), with appropriate ownership and oversight to ensure completion on schedule.
- Supporting first line of defence with any Risk related enquiries
- Delivering Risk focused training to the business.
People
- Ensuring all mandatory training is completed in a timely fashion
Governance
- Attending client meetings and discussing Risk Event themes and trends.
- Supporting management of audits (internal & external)
- Attending regular client meetings (e.g. Risk Event Meetings) and resolve all actions within agreed timescales
- Using, and becoming a subject matter expert in the use of, the Firm's designated risk system as the sole repository for Risk Event Information.
Functional Area Responsibilities
- Continue to support the Team purpose and ensure the Operational Risk & Control function delivers value and assurance to FNZ and our client base.
- Promote and actively develop a risk aware culture within FNZ 1st line.
- Be proactive, organised and actively provide ideas of innovation and process improvement.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients to ensure engagement with our strategy.
- Be informed of sector-wide developments and those beyond the business sector.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties, as determined by the 1st line - Head of Function
- Ensure all mandatory training is completed in a timely fashion.
- Encourage a culture of openness and ethical decision making within the team.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field.
- More than 3 years of experience in risk, compliance, operations, or audit (internships included).
- Exposure to Transfer Agency platforms
- Experience in AML or Financial Crime Analysis.
- Basic understanding of operational risk concepts (e.g., risk frameworks, incident management).
- Familiarity with GRC tools or risk reporting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

About the Role
At RYT Bank, we believe risk management is not just about compliance — it's about enabling smart, sustainable growth. As an Operational Risk Manager, you'll play a key role in strengthening our risk culture and ensuring our frameworks are robust, responsive, and future-ready.
You'll be responsible for enhancing and implementing key risk tools and processes, including:
- Operational Risk Management (ORM) Policy, RCSA, Key Control Testing, KRIs, New Product Assessment (NPA), and Third Party Risk Management Guideline (TPRMG).
- Independently assessing new products/services to ensure operational risks are identified and mitigated.
- Partnering with functional units to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and track mitigation actions to closure.
- Acting as Submission Officer for timely and accurate regulatory reporting (e.g., BNM loss events, KRIs).
- Facilitating and challenging RCSA exercises across the bank, ensuring alignment with our risk appetite and actual risk profile.
- Monitoring internal KRIs and analysing trends to highlight areas requiring management attention.
- Reviewing outsourcing risk assessments and coordinating periodic reviews and annual plans for BNM submission.
- Supporting training and workshops to embed risk awareness and strengthen our risk-first culture.
- Taking on ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Head of Department or Senior Management.
What are we looking for?
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in banking, with strong exposure to operational risk.
- Solid understanding of BNM guidelines and regulatory expectations.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills — you're comfortable engaging across all levels.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven.
- A team player with a positive, proactive mindset.
- Experience in technology risk is a plus.

At RYT Bank, we believe risk management is not just about compliance — it’s about enabling smart, sustainable growth. As an Operational Risk Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our risk culture and ensuring our frameworks are robust, responsive, and future-ready.
You’ll be responsible for enhancing and implementing key risk tools and processes, including:
Operational Risk Management (ORM) Policy, RCSA, Key Control Testing, KRIs, New Product Assessment (NPA), and Third Party Risk Management Guideline (TPRMG).
Independently assessing new products/services to ensure operational risks are identified and mitigated.
Partnering with functional units to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and track mitigation actions to closure.
Acting as Submission Officer for timely and accurate regulatory reporting (e.g., BNM loss events, KRIs).
Facilitating and challenging RCSA exercises across the bank, ensuring alignment with our risk appetite and actual risk profile.
Monitoring internal KRIs and analysing trends to highlight areas requiring management attention.
Reviewing outsourcing risk assessments and coordinating periodic reviews and annual plans for BNM submission.
Supporting training and workshops to embed risk awareness and strengthen our risk-first culture.
Taking on ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Head of Department or Senior Management.
Qualifications and experience
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in banking, with strong exposure to operational risk.
Solid understanding of BNM guidelines and regulatory expectations.
Strong project and stakeholder management skills — you’re comfortable engaging across all levels.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven.
A team player with a positive, proactive mindset.
Experience in technology risk is a plus.

OverviewUnited Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is a leading bank with a global network of branches and offices in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. This role focuses on Operational Risk Management (ORM) within UOB’s Kuala Lumpur office, contributing to the development and governance of ORM frameworks, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Developing, maintaining and reviewing the ORM related frameworks, policies and procedures & guidelines.
- Assist in developing Operational Risk Management methodologies, tools and techniques in consultation with Group Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM).
- Be well versed with incident reporting, KORI, third party risk management, product program, scenario analysis and MRA (self declared risk) and agile to take on/lead any of these ORM programs.
- Conduct regular briefings on Operational Risk Management for Business / Support units.
- Facilitating and providing support and guidance to business/ support units with regards to ORM initiatives as well as the ORM system.
- Secretariat function for ORWG, ORMC and Crisis Management Team (simulation exercise) including scheduling the meeting, reviewing presentation slides, minutes of meetings and matters arising.
- Preparation of ORM related updates/reports to Senior Management committee and Board.
- Familiar with BNM ORR reporting and confidence in engaging BNM/Management, when required.
- Supervise and support the Shariah Risk Management (SRM) function which is embedded within ORM.
- Prepare or support the ICAAP operational risk stress test activities and methodology.
- Supervise and co-ordinate on risk culture and recovery/resolution planning.
- Drive people management, development and culture.
- Attend relevant forums and/or committees (when necessary), namely Capital Working Group, Risk Capital Committee, Business Continuity Management Committee, Shariah Committee, PFS AML & Risk Forum (PARF), Finance BRCM forum and Compensation Review Panel; as appropriate.
- 10 –15 years of relevant experience in operational risk, compliance, audit, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or senior advisory role within financial services or regulated industries.
- Proven track record in risk assessment, control design, and remediation.
- Experience in interacting with regulators, internal and external stakeholders including internal audit functions.
- Deep understanding of operational risk frameworks, relevant regulatory policies/guidelines and control environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to influence senior leadership and drive risk culture.
- Adequate familiarity with technology risk, cyber risk, third party risk risk, data governance and Shariah risk (as appropriate)
- Strategic thinking and ability to align risk practices with business objectives.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office modules & presentation skills.
