Functional Description

Job Description
Summary of the Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer , you will support and improve test processes for media in both back-end (BE) and front-end (FE) operations. You will handle certification, qualification, and installation of new test processes, and keep test recipes updated. You will investigate HDD returns and fix media tester issues to avoid repeated problems. You will work on continuous improvements by analyzing data, upgrading equipment and processes, and documenting procedures. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure test quality and participate in reviews, following all safety rules.
Job Responsibilities And Role Accountabilities
- Support BE Media test (PZT, TDS, Magnetic Certification) process.
- Support FE and BE AOI process.
- Certify new head and transfer into back end test operation
- Media BE test vs HDD Drive Correlation and Optimization.
- Support HDD return investigation.
- Qualify & release and new media test process propagation/installation into manufacturing.
- Continue to monitor, optimize, analyze and implement improvement(upgrade) all media test process related.
- Procedure and methodology documentation
- Review project transfers from US and provide assessment feedback, Test metrology review, test process suggestions and improvements.
- Develop new engineering solution (Equipment and Process) for defect detection improvement on media testers.
- Implement process improvements for media tester.
- Test recipe maintenance.
- Resolve media tester QI failures and find solutions to ensure non repeated cases due to same root cause.
- Media quality improvement to avoid post-test failure and test escapee for new equipment qualification to HDD.
- Involved as a team member in FMEA meetings.
- Coordinating test process improvements with operations engineer and technicians.
- Interface with Product Engineering/HME in HDD.
- Interface with support team – IT/Product group.
- Follow all safety and health rules.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics Sciences or a related field.
- Atleast 1 year of engineering experience and industry exposure in Electronics, Semiconduction Manufacturing setup is highly preferred.
- Experience in working on project, experiment and evaluation environment is highly desirable.
