Job Description

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer located in Flex PTP.

Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager the Manufacturing Engineer role is responsible to plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support maintenance of manufacturing methods by performing the following duties in the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts, technologies and techniques
  • Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root-causes of equipment failures and develop hands-on maintenance skills
  • Work with other engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving and continuous improvement to the design of equipment and products and may develop corrective and preventive action plans
  • May be involved in development and and update of PFMEA for new products
  • May participate in control plan development
  • Write and update work instructions and other documents (e.g. specifications, procedures,…)
  • Analyzes and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Coordinates with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and responds to customer request.
  • Provides information for management decisions from a technical and technical cost perspective.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications And Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Food Science / Microbiology
  • Minimum 10 years' related manufacturing experience – must have some background in Food or Pharma
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial role - Food related Managerial is most desirable
  • Technical knowledge in Food Hygiene standards, HACCP and AIB requirement
  • Experience in food manufacturing industry with knowledge and experience in spray drying is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong leadership with excellent communication skills
  • Customer service orientated
  • Analytical with good problem solving ability
  • Ability to adapt to a changing and quick paced environment
  • Good business acumen and commercial understanding

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is to perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Work with engineers in conducting experiments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for device/machine assembly, testing & troubleshooting/debugging.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance for related equipment.
  • Communicate with equipment supplier regarding calibration certificates and calibration reports.
  • Ensure jig/fixture/testing equipment is established in the equipment database.
  • Raise quality notification for defective material or device.
  • Communicate with team regarding test/assembly issues.
  • Perform first level troubleshooting on the final testing failure.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow production ISO, WI and ESD standards.
