The “Supply Chain Analyst ” will be based in Flex PTP.

In charge of customer interface on strategic materials for key assigned accounts. Hold up material manager or director to develop, implement GPSC reports, data research trends to facilitate resolutions making.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives sourcing/pricing strategies in materials quotations.
  • Presents materials value-add to customers or suppliers, and influence customer to use Flex preferred suppliers.
  • Interfaces with customer or supplier in new project start-up, for cost of ownership issues.
  • Develops and guides implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
  • Manages component cost/price on a local, regional and global basis.
  • Tracks materials financial performance and initiate corrective actions when required.
  • Defines and implements pricing and costing strategies.
  • Coordinate sourcing strategies with Supply Management and Customers.
  • Develop and implement cost take down strategies.
  • Increase Vendor Managed Inventory, Reduced Guide-Time and Electronic Data Interface penetration.

Specialized Job controls may be required for certain positions. These could include on or more of the following duties:

Supply Management:

  • Manage regional supplier contract negotiations, which includes Memorandums of Comprehension, Non-disclosure and regional pricing agreements.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Measure and report Purchase Price Variance and initiate action plans.
  • Monitor and manage supplier times.
  • Mitigates shortages, excess on order and excess on hand.
  • Participate on and help global and regional commodity teams.
  • Contribute information/data on top spend suppliers for quarterly scorecards.

Customer Supply Chain Management:

  • Manages material cost reviews.
  • Drive initiatives to improve gross material margin.
  • Identify, implement and drive actions for Retained Purchase Price Variance (RPPV) optimization.
  • Drive reconciliation process with customer (PPV, Premium charges, carrying costs, freight charges, excess and obsolete inventory, Non-cancelable, Non-Returnable (NCNR), etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to increase turnkey business and develop materials management plan.
  • Coordinate quarterly/monthly PPV hard call process.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, materials sourcing, commodity management or supply chain design/management or other related area.
  • Must have an understanding of cost accounting, electronic component markets, price trends and technologies.
  • A background in electronics manufacturing and a thorough understanding of Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) product development process.
  • To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and database systems.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Supply Chain Solution Analyst located in Flex PTP.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Solution Manager the Supply Chain Solution Analyst role is responsible to plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support maintenance of manufacturing methods by performing the following duties in the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing of mechanical (Plastic/Sheet metal/Machining/Cable & wire harness/Packaging/Hardware) parts.
  • Price validation by reviewing cost breakdown, negotiate with supplier to meet should cost price.
  • Drive cost reduction activities by validating parameters, alternate sourcing, alternate material, packaging and transport cost optimization,
  • Engage with mechanical part qualification, tool transfer activities, FAI/CPK measurement data,
  • Prepare, collect and maintain engineering data related to part production processes
  • Periodical review and validate supplier material costing.
  • Provide RFQ support for new tool/EC tool/new project/local transfer enquiries.
  • Drive suppliers to participates with JIT, SMI programs to meet company delivery requirements.
  • Manage and ensure assurance of parts supply issues due to tooling, machine capacity & raw material on monthly basis.
  • Engage with suppliers on MOQ, LT & SPQ reduction activities.
  • Drive and execute procurement process setup such as VMF, agreed supplier’s T&C, MCO and ECN internal & externally to comply company requirements.
  • Engage with customer designed products stability assurance & approval process.
  • Review and Validate suppliers tooling maintenance data, asset lists, asset handling & asset storage periodically.
  • Conduct process audit with existing suppliers & new supplier qualification audit for qualification support when necessary.
  • Review tool/supplier capacities when it involves customised parts during high demand surge/drop
  • Engage with CFT teams and if necessary with customers on material sourcing activities during NPI stage
  • Work with global teams and provide updates when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and training in Injection Moulding Process.
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in Injection Moulding
  • Use of the following tools may be required: Electronic Assembly: color code, component, and schematics.
  • May require various PCB operations. Testing: oscilloscope, cable and harness testing, trouble shooting, component testing, logic analyzer. Inspection: bare board, systems, components, cable and harness, microscope, measuring tools. Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Interface with customers in process/systems related discussion and design of solutions addressing their needs (with maximum utilization of Flex standards)
  • Enable new business opportunities through supporting discussion on RFP. Implementation of proposed solutions (Project Management).
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in planning and procurement solutions
  • Support the implementation of global tools and solutions to meet Customer needs and GPSC Goals
  • Training of site planning & procurement resources.
  • Maintain good internal and customer relationships and act as escalation in the event of customer or process issues.
  • Manage and motivate his project team's members.
  • Monitor key supply chain performance indicators at manufacturing locations to identify & assist in executing opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess problem areas and provide root cause evaluation, technical support, and direction to sites to resolve issue.
  • Establish Project Plans, managing project from initiation, delivery, and compliancy.
  • Communicate Project requirements and budget to cross-functional teams, including senior management.
  • Review and maintain Project Plan as needed and report weekly project progress and risks.
  • Assess problem areas and provide root cause evaluation, technical support, and direction to project team to resolve issues.
  • Conduct presentations and training to Project Team, and management as needed.
  • Create and/or update Training Documentation for End Users.
  • Coordinate and perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) related to Enhancements and Bug Fixes with Segments/Sites.
  • Recommend changes to policies which may affect other organizations.
  • Interact frequently with internal customers and/or functional peer group managers, as well as middle management and senior management.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Requires aBachelor’s Degree in business/technical discipline.
  • Requires minimum of 7+ years of supply chain management experience.

  • Managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers and carriers to improve transportation and delivery costs.
  • Monitoring performance metrics for on-time delivery, accuracy, and customer satisfaction, and making necessary adjustments.
Supply & Demand Management

Supervise the Supply Demand Manager to ensure a balanced supply chain through effective forecasting and planning. Focus areas:

  • Oversee demand forecasts based on data, market trends, and input from sales and merchandising teams.
  • Optimize inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Manage slow-moving or non-moving stock to minimize costs.
Leadership and Team Management

Lead and mentor the Warehouse Managers, Delivery Manager, and Supply Demand Manager, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance. Ensure clear goals, regular feedback, and professional growth for the team.

Strategic Planning and Execution

Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals. Seek opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and increased efficiency. Collaborate with other departments to meet customer needs.

Risk Management and Compliance

Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards. Stay informed about industry changes and propose improvements to minimize disruptions. Handle additional business development tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related; Master's or certifications like APICS, Six Sigma preferred.
  • Expertise in warehouse operations, logistics, demand planning, and supply chain software (ERP, SAP). Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Physically capable of outdoor activities regularly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management, managing warehouse, delivery, and demand functions.
  • Salary range MYR13k-MYR15k.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities Include

Inventory Management

  • Assure the use of company assets by managing production lot sizes and supplier replenishment
  • Assure inventory budget targets of raw and packaging material and finish goods
  • Ensure that all raw and packaging material and finish goods inventory is properly engineered and linkage with planning is properly communicated
  • Ensure inventory accuracy; work directly with Finance Controller on investigating/balancing material usage variances
  • Work directly with Quality Assurance team to minimize block & rework inventories

Material Handling

  • Manage reception of all goods at the site
  • Manage conformance of shipment with Bill of Lading
  • Optimize floor space utilization
  • Manage JIT deliveries to production lines
  • Coordinate the control and variances of the inventory differences

Replenishment

  • Manage MRP recommendations and ensures availability of raw and packaging material
  • Assures the processes of the replenishment and return of material related to supplier quality issues
  • Responsible to ensure supplier delivery, reliability and quantity compliance; addresses various issues as they occur
  • Communicates weekly our future material requirements with suppliers
  • Ensures that production scheduling is in line with customer requirements in order to meet the customer demand
  • Manages MRP recommendations of finish goods products and ensures that production scheduling optimizes the utilization of the production equipment
  • Works closely with Central Planning in resolving with the scheduling department the different issues related to product shortages
  • Optimize runtime of production lines to maximize output while servicing orders

Finance

  • Knows and understands the financial report related to his or her local activities
  • Works with Supply Chain Director on the preparation of the labor and expenses budget
  • Explains monthly variances to his or her budget
  • Analyzes financial impact of decisions and prioritizes efforts

General

  • Leads and participates in operations/site project teams as required
  • Develops, tracks and publishes weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators
  • Committed to providing a safe working environment
  • Works within all regulatory requirements
  • Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements
  • Perform all other related duties as required

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 10 years in logistic, supply chain and warehousing
  • Experience of dealing with external parties such as Customs, Mida, etc
  • Background of cocoa industry.
  • Knowledge or specific business understanding
  • Can support change at varying levels
  • Must exhibit exemplary leadership skills
  • Will be dedicated to meet expectations and requirements of internal and external suppliers
  • Must have the ability to manage at macro and micro levels
  • Must make quality and timely decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment
  • Will need to negotiate skillfully in tough situations, work effectively with others, have strong inter-personal skills, communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and have good presentation skills
  • Will be required to set objectives and goals and measure performance against those goals; must resolve problems and roadblocks to meet objectives when necessary
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma/Problem solving: DMAIC / PDCA is preferred

Role & Responsibilities

Export/Import

  • Receive and process shipment orders triggered by Customers.
  • Book freight with nominated carriers based on customer's carrier routine guide.
  • Provide quotation on other services such as warehousing and transportation and documentation services.
  • Liaise with the truckers to collect and truck empty containers from depot to customer premise for stuffing, and to launch the laden container to port thereafter.
  • Prepare Permits and other relevant Applications/Declaration.
  • Prepare Letter of Credit & final shipping documents
  • Monitor shipping documents for shipment clearance, and other regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements

Experience And Qualification

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in managing Sea operations is beneficial, but not required.
  • Fresh graduates or individuals without relevant experience are welcome to apply.
