The HR Director will provide HR partnership and leadership to multiple businesses and functions primarily located in Selangor and Penang. This leadership role sits within the APAC HR leadership team and focuses on developing and implementing HR initiatives aligned with business objectives.
The HR Director will contribute to talent development, coaching, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and more. A data-driven and solution-oriented approach, with a growth-oriented mindset, is crucial. This position reports to the Vice President, APAC HR & Global MicroE and is part of the Human Resource team located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia and will be an on-site role.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To- Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with business and country leaders to guide talent development, succession planning, and organizational assessments while aligning people strategies with business goals.
- Culture & Engagement Advocacy: Champion company values to foster engagement, retention, and trust; provide coaching and training to managers on effective people leadership.
- Legal & Compliance Oversight: Consult on employment casework, legal matters, compliance activities, and investigations to ensure organizational integrity.
- Data-Driven HR Management: Track and analyze HR KPIs to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement in engagement and development.
- Employee Experience & Development: Understand associate needs, lead onboarding and learning programs, and implement initiatives that enhance engagement and retention.
- HR Operations & Collaboration: Work with Talent Acquisition, CoE teams, and global HRBPs to deliver recruitment, talent management, and total rewards solutions while driving process improvements.
- Team Leadership & Policy Implementation: Coach and develop direct reports, lead employee relations, and ensure effective communication and execution of HR policies and health and welfare standards.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing HR teams.
- Well-versed in Malaysian labor laws and HR practices.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Demonstrated success in managing a large, multi-location workforce of over 400 employees.
- Committed to high ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Proven experience in overseeing HR operations for large-scale shared services environments.
- Proficient in multiple languages, enabling effective communication across diverse cultures.
- Extensive HR experience within MNCs.

Who we’re looking for / The role
We’re seeking a strategic and empathetic HR leader to scale our people operations, shape a thriving workplace culture, and help us build an A-team that delivers on our mission to make periods unapologetically real.
As HR Director, you’ll lead all aspects of the people function – from hiring and onboarding, to performance and career development, to employee experience and engagement – across our 3 core markets (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia). This role is a rare opportunity to build and shape a fast-growing regional team that’s both kind and rebellious.
Reports to: CEO/CSO (co-founders)
Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning (30%)- Drive a structured, high-bar recruitment process across all departments and markets
- Partner with hiring managers to forecast needs and close key roles quickly, without compromising on quality
- Shape our employer brand so we attract exceptional people who align with our values
- Design and lead company-wide performance management processes (calibration, feedback, ratings, promotions)
- Partner with founders to define and evolve org structure as we scale
- Launch career frameworks, progression ladders, and learning & development programs
- Design and iterate on fair, motivating, and scalable compensation and rewards structures - including salary bands, performance bonuses, and recognition mechanisms
- Champion our values and foster a high-engagement culture across all offices
- Design and run pulse surveys, act on feedback, and drive initiatives that create a sense of belonging
- Build programs that celebrate individuality while supporting high performance
- Own and improve HR systems, processes, and documentation (onboarding, offboarding, payroll, policies)
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations across our 3 markets
- Monitor key people metrics (hiring speed, unwanted attrition, employee NPS)
- 8–12+ years of HR experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role

Who we’re looking for / The role
We’re seeking a strategic and empathetic HR leader to scale our people operations, shape a thriving workplace culture, and help us build an A-team that delivers on our mission to make periods unapologetically real.
As HR Director, you’ll lead all aspects of the people function – from hiring and onboarding, to performance and career development, to employee experience and engagement – across our 3 core markets (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia). Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning (30%)
Drive a structured, high-bar recruitment process across all departments and markets
Partner with hiring managers to forecast needs and close key roles quickly, without compromising on quality
Shape our employer brand so we attract exceptional people who align with our values
Performance Management & Organization Design & Development (30%)
Design and lead company-wide performance management processes (calibration, feedback, ratings, promotions)
Partner with founders to define and evolve org structure as we scale
Launch career frameworks, progression ladders, and learning & development programs
Design and iterate on fair, motivating, and scalable compensation and rewards structures - including salary bands, performance bonuses, and recognition mechanisms
Culture & Employee Engagement (20%)
Champion our values and foster a high-engagement culture across all offices
Design and run pulse surveys, act on feedback, and drive initiatives that create a sense of belonging
Build programs that celebrate individuality while supporting high performance
People Operations, Compliance & Systems (20%)
Own and improve HR systems, processes, and documentation (onboarding, offboarding, payroll, policies)
Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations across our 3 markets
Monitor key people metrics (hiring speed, unwanted attrition, employee NPS)
Skills & Qualifications
8–12+ years of HR experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role
