As an engineering manager in the Sustaining Engineering team, your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, making valuable contributions, and generally having a great experience at Canonical. What we are looking for in you

  • Experience with debugging tools such as gdb, crash or other

The Role

The Engineering Manager - Global Fraud Solutions will lead Engineering squads and take responsibility for the overall development, delivery, and maintenance of GFS solutions. Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electronics/Electrical) or its equivalents with at least 7 years of relevant work experience in electronics/semicon manufacturing specifically on process engineering.
  • Experience in optical alignment/ optical sub assembly is highly preferred.

Skills

  • Leadership capabilities to manage a team of > 15 Engineers and >15 technicians.

The Engineering Manager - Global Fraud Solutions will lead Engineering squads and take responsibility for the overall development, delivery, and maintenance of GFS solutions. Working with the Sr. Engineering Manager and CTPO, you will be collaborating with the Product and Business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and execute the Product roadmap and priorities. What You Will Do

Technically support and maintain the products under your care. Focus on the quality and speed of delivery for the technology changes required to enable business initiatives, leading a team of high-calibre software developers. Provide thought-leadership during the feasibility, analysis, and prioritization process to ensure the optimal initiatives are prioritized and technology investments are maximized. In partnership with our product team, define independent slices of value that make up the product backlog, prioritized by customer value, documented in a way that allows engineers to clearly understand what is needed, why, and how success will be measured. Proactively resolve structural, cultural, process, and organizational issues both within and outside of the team. Work with the Technical and Solution Architecture team to align specific solution designs with the target end-state architecture, balancing strategic and tactical priorities. Provide leadership to assist in the creation and maintenance of a high-performing, agile team. Ensure that dependencies and risks in the domain are understood and effectively managed. Create and maintain a technical roadmap for the assigned domain including technical debt. Help your team solve complex technical problems as you build the platform. Taking ownership of production incidents and following problems through to resolution. Coach and mentor team members and support their career progression goals. Review code and provide technical mentorship to engineers. Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate. Guide architectural decisions and ensure alignment with engineering best practices. Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent. Conduct regular performance reviews and career development discussions. Requirements

Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in leading and working within a team. Ability to engage all levels of an organization. Experienced in Technology, People Management, and Processes in order to drive Engineering maturity. Able to interact and work with project managers and stakeholders to deliver multiple projects. Thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with fluid requirements. Knowledge of Open-Source Technologies, Microsoft .NET, various Database technologies, TDD/BDD, Microservices Architecture, Cloud Technologies, and other emerging technologies. Proficiency in Core Java programming language and Web development (e.g., Vue.js, Angular, Spring Boot). Solid exposure in CI/CD, cloud, and container-based technologies (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, HelmChart, etc.) would be an advantage. Experience with graph databases such as Janus or Neo4j algorithms and UX/UI design principles would be a major plus. Solid experience in Architecture design, DevSecOps, and Agile Methodologies. Exposure to architecting and developing high-performance systems is desirable. Hands-on experience with AI-based development toolsets (Cursor.ai, CoPilot, Windsurf, etc.). Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The section to handle is: Middle of Line/OSA assembly which includes optical alignment processes and passive attach of optical components. Responsible for making sure process yield target and UPH target are met and are in control. Manages current product ramp up, making sure processes are ready, qualified and documented and in control. Manages new product transfer, making sure process are ready, qualified and documented. Conduct DFM, FMEA. Settle process and quality issues in Middle of Line/OSA assembly. Process capability/CPK improvement projects. Yield improvement/scrap reduction projects. HPU/UPH improvement projects, Cost saving projects. Handles Engineers and Technician.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electronics/Electrical) or its equivalents with at least 7 years of relevant work experience in electronics/semicon manufacturing specifically on process engineering. Experience in optical alignment/ optical sub assembly is highly preferred.

Skills

Leadership capabilities to manage a team of > 15 Engineers and >15 technicians. Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving. Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. Expert in SPC, DOE, FMEA, DFM.
