Job Description

Engineer is responsible to support production to ensure smooth production operations to meet and fulfil the requirements of production plan, quality standards and organization set productivity. He/ She is to assist superior in identifies gaps and assess risk analysis for processes and procedures as well as any new and/ or existing standard requirements to ensure full compliance of all standard requirements such as Alcon Health Safety and Environment Standards, Alcon Code of Business Conducts, ISO, GMP, AFCM and FDA regulations. To train and maintain the competent of staff that fosters a team environment. Support as ISRM coordinator.

  • To establish additional training materials/ evaluation documents as well as re-view and revise existing training materials/ evaluation documents to improve and enhance competency, awareness, understanding and efficiency of staff.
  • Responsible for training of the entire team, monitor and maintain departmental staff Plateau training without overdue to ensure the team always conduct daily tasks with latest procedures.
  • To perform routine check and review all sort of documents, process observation, material management in terms of FEFO (including SAP transaction), safety practices to ensure the sustainability of high level performance in the implementation and compliance of all standard requirements at all time as the readiness of audit preparedness as well as provide timely and constructive feedback to superior.
  • To perform trending analysis for all formulations on-going process.
  • Establish engineering study protocol (ESP) and report writing (ESR) with the purpose of investigation.
  • Conduct online trouble shooting, investigation and problem solving for any issues related to Chemical Production and follow up for any issues related to Chemical Production and follow through NCR and CAPA procedure accordingly.
  • To support smooth production operations by pigment qualification, cleaning verification, retest material coordination, use test or application test on materials, any Special Build Run (SBR) from all departments with protocols and availability of ceramic jar & beads (including condition of new jar and retirement for ageing jar).
  • Ensure the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all materials are always up-to-date i.e. with its validity period
  • Responsible to perform annual review for HIRARC, PPE Assessment, Aspect & Impact and FMEA.
  • Responsible to review, maintain and manage IMTE for all equipment.
  • To support the control and monitoring of consumable items usage and raise purchase requisition for any purchase.

Job Description
ATB Sdn. Bhd. is offering an exciting internship opportunity for Chemical Engineering students

to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic tank terminal and refinery operations environment.

This internship will provide exposure to real-world engineering processes, technical analysis,

and operational planning. Interns will work closely with experienced engineers and technical

staff, contributing to meaningful projects that support plant performance, efficiency, and

environmental compliance.

As an Intern – Process Engineering, your responsibilities may include:

  • Gaining an understanding of tank terminal operations, ullage planning, and optimization.
  • Learning about integrated complex operations including environmental systems (e.g.,
  • wastewater treatment, flue gas treatment).
  • Assisting in process monitoring and analysis (e.g., material and energy balances) using
  • tools such as SeeQ.
  • Supporting technical evaluations of refinery systems (e.g., water treating, flare, heat exchangers).
  • Participating in troubleshooting activities and root cause analyses for operational issues.
  • Assisting in monitoring corrosion and chemical optimization in collaboration with chemical vendors.
  • Supporting crude tank scheduling and production planning efforts.
  • Learning to use simulation tools like KBC Petro-SIM and linear programming for process and blend optimization.
  • Contributing to performance monitoring through analysis of key operating and safety indicators.
  • Documenting findings and preparing reports on process efficiency and improvement opportunities.
  • Participating in the development and revision of standard operating procedures, including startup, shutdown, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (CGPA 3.5 & above)
  • Excellent computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets. Added advantage in process monitoring tool, refinery simulation tool and miscellaneous technical and engineering software (pressure analysis, heat transfer, equipment sizing, etc.)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral technical presentation skills.
  • A can-do attitude, and willingness to learn.

Our comprehensive 9-12 month initiative combines career development training with practical on-the-job training, providing essential skills and genuine workplace exposure to establish a robust groundwork for a progressive career ahead.

(Note - Program: Graduate Trainee Program (GeT) under the PROTÉGÉ Program)

Responsibilities:

Assist in compiling yearly and monthly work programs from all sections, ensuring alignment with MCS standards and requirements. Support in compiling and monitoring the performance of Routine Maintenance Contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Compile and update NCR/RR/MCS data extracted from the ROSS system. Assist in monitoring and reporting subcontractor performance (Work Orders) based on feedback from Section Supervisors, and follow up on site progress to ensure timely execution of works. Support quality control processes to ensure full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and adherence to the company’s safety policies and regulations (Work Orders). Assist in liaising with the Contract & Claims Unit on matters related to claims and payment processes.

Requirements:

Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or any related course.
