This role involves overseeing a section of the project and serving as the worksite representative in dealings with subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and government inspectors. The construction manager will ensure compliance with all relevant procedures, regulations, and codes, and will provide regular progress updates to management.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and specialists to monitor project progress at the construction site.
- Visit sites regularly during construction phases and attend status and coordination meetings.
- Conduct quality assurance and safety inspections throughout construction, ensuring a safe work environment and proper equipment maintenance.
- Maintain work records and preconstruction documents; develop relationships with reliable contractors and vendors.
- Respond effectively to work delays, emergencies, and disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety & Health, and Environment standards as per company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of risk and budget management principles.
- Experience managing large-scale construction projects.
- Understanding of local construction regulations and permit processes.
- Experience in contract negotiations and claims management.
- Familiarity with lean construction principles.
- Strong knowledge of QSHE practices.
- Financial acumen in project budgeting and cost control.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in construction management, preferably in infrastructure or large-scale projects.
