As a Senior Software Engineer at Canonical, you will own the development of large projects. Encourages rigorous and efficient engineering process. Writes specifications and understands risks. Location : This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.

The role entails

  • Identifying what matters for the team and driving initiatives to improve them

Job Description

  • Work closely with team to deliver high end quality web based applications on our internal platform, UI/UX (3DExperience platform)
  • Performing research and development ground work to come up with technical solutions for integration into 3DExperience platform
  • Be creative in coming up with integration solutions combining different web technologies available (UI/UX)
  • Always have a knack for productivity and/or efficiency process improvements

Technical Skills & Abilities:

  • PHP - MVC Framework (Such as Yii2, Laravel and/or equivalent)
  • MySQL / SQL
  • HTML / CSS / Bootstrap
  • JavaScript / JQuery
  • Server knowledge (Linux, Cloud hosting, web, database)
  • JS framework (Angular, React, Vue, Node and/or equivalent) would be added advantage
  • Git knowledge would be added advantage
  • Gulp or any preprocessors knowledge would be added advantage
The Successful Applicant

A successful Full Stack professional should have:

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (UI/UX)
  • Proficiency in back-end development using languages like Python, PHP, or Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and design tools such as Adobe XD or Figma.
  • Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to development and design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to meet project goals. Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
  • 5 solid years of programming experiences with at least 2 years of professional full stack web development experience
  • Able to code efficiently & proficiently in multiple web based languages (HTML/CSS/JS/JQuery/PHP/MySQL)
  • Experienced in different types of web development projects using MVC framework (PHP or JS)
  • Experienced in working with and/or developing Restful APIs
  • Knowledge in build tools and preprocessors like Gulp is added advantage.
  • Experience in code deployment using Git is also added advantage.
  • Excellent logic and problem solving skills, able to think outside the box,
  • Good communication skills (verbally and written).
  • Self-learner, able to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Able to take initiatives and self-starter
  • Good team player and familiar with agile development practices
