Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize wastewater treatment processes, including biological, chemical, and physical treatment methods
- Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to assess the performance of treatment systems
- Develop and implement process control strategies, monitoring, and automation systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of wastewater treatment systems with overall facility operations
- Perform data analysis and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement

- Prepare technical reports and documentation, including process design manuals and standard operating procedures

More than 12 projects experience of waste water treatment and sewer network
Qualifications:
- At least a master's degree in sanitary engineering or environmental engineering
- 14 years of experience in wastewater treatment process engineering or related roles
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, technologies, and chemical analysis
- Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, HYSYS)

Job Summary
We are seeking an Environmental Officer to ensure our Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operates in full compliance with Malaysian environmental laws, DOE regulations, and internal standards. This role will also manage air pollution control systems (scrubbers) and scheduled waste according to the Environmental Quality Act 1974.
Key Responsibilities
1. Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP):
- Assist in monitoring, operating, and maintaining WWTP processes.
- Conduct routine sampling and effluent analysis to ensure compliance with Standard B discharge limits.
- Maintain operational records, chemical usage logs, and daily WWTP reports.
- Coordinate with laboratories and consultants for testing and audits.
- Identify and resolve operational issues promptly.
2. Scrubber System Management:
- Operate and maintain scrubbers for air emission control.
- Monitor parameters such as temperature, flow rate, and pressure drop.
- Keep inspection and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with Clean Air Regulations 2014 .
3. Scheduled Waste Management:
- Identify and classify scheduled wastes under EQA (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005 .
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and bunding of waste containers.
- Maintain scheduled waste inventory and submit eSWIS reports.
- Coordinate with licensed contractors for collection and disposal.
- Train staff on waste handling procedures.
4. Environmental Compliance & Reporting:
- Liaise with DOE officers and support environmental audits.
- Submit Environmental Performance Reports (EPR) and other mandatory documentation.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes and implement compliance measures.
- Conduct internal environmental inspections and corrective action follow-ups.
5. Safety & Awareness:
- Promote environmental awareness within the organization.
- Participate in environmental training and emergency drills.
- Respond to environmental incidents such as spills or leaks.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science , Chemical Engineering , or related field.
- 2–3 years experience in WWTP, air pollution control, or waste management.
Certifications (Required – at least one):
- CePSWaM – Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management.
- CePSO – Certified Environmental Professional in Scrubber Operation.
Certifications (Preferred):
- CePIETSO – Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment System.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of DOE Malaysia environmental laws & reporting systems (OER & eSWIS ).
- Good analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental monitoring instruments.
Working Conditions
- Plant-based role with regular fieldwork (indoor & outdoor).
