About The JobBased at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Food & Beverage Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Waiter/Waitress responsibilities include greeting and serving our guests, providing detailed information on menus, and multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties in a fast-paced environment. The Waiter/Waitress reports to the Restaurant Manager / Assistant Restaurant Manager.
As Waiter/Waitress, you will be responsible for the following duties:- Ensure that the standards of Food and Beverage service are maintained
- Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything
- Report deficiencies or breakage of operational equipment to the Assistant Managers
- Increase the average food and beverage check and promote sales
- Monitor and supervise small VIP functions not handled by the Banquet Department
- Ensure that the orders are delivered at the proper temperature
- Diploma/Certificate in Hotel Management or Business Administration preferred.
- Good communication skills whether verbal, written or non-verbal.
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage in order to service and up sell our product, including liquors and cocktails

- During seminars, replenish drinks and change glasses during break time.
- Clear soiled dishes, glasses, tables, and chairs after functions and put them back in proper storage.
- Ensure that soiled linen, napkins, and towels are counted and sent to the laundry.
