In this role, you will:
· Lead of Penang Product Engineering Team
· Product Continuous Improvement of In-Production Hydropanel Generations
· Collaborate with the U.S.-based technical team to achieve on-time, under-budget, and validated product solutions
· Create and conduct experiments on parts, sub-assemblies, and system prescribed by the product Validation Plan and Report (VP&R)
· Apply "fall forward" decision making when identifying appropriate risk opportunities to meet project objectives
· Contribute to a "fail fast" culture where concepts are rapidly prototyped and tested, avoiding analysis paralysis
· Engage in interdepartmental and vendor collaboration to ensure alignment of project objectives, detect constrains, and strategize solutions
· Solution concepting, CAD modeling/drawings, prototype/production sourcing, creation/execution/documentation of the product's VP&R and subsequent change control
· Present individual progress in weekly project status presentation to leadership
· Manage and design solutions for ECN requests.
· Create product configurations to consume inventory of historical product generations.
· Collaborate with the U.S. based Engineering team to design and perform validation and reliability testing in Malaysia.
· Collaborate with Supply Chain and Contract Manufacturers to vet outsourced products and processes.
REQUIREMENTS
· Hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other mechanical-centric engineering discipline.
· Possess 10+ years of 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks proficiency strongly preferred).
· Demonstrated experience managing large CAD models/drawing packages from inception through ECN.
· Experienced in use of Microsoft applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, and email.
· Can generate robust mechanical CAD models and drawings, prototypes, and written reports.
· Working knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes, especially injection molding, thermoforming, rapid prototyping, sheet metal fabrication (preferably high-volume stamping), casting, and machining, and the ability to effectively apply such knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
· Have excellent capacity for both logical reasoning and creative thinking as evidenced by the ability to invent, conceptualize, and abstract.
· Have a high level of personal commitment to quality, with demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail in all phases of a project.
· Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, highlighted by a flexible and collaborative working style.
· Experience simulating flow through complex geometries using CFD (SolidWorks Simulation strongly preferred) and validating results on physical prototypes using a wide array of measuring techniques.
· Exceptional technical writing skills
· Diverse background in metrology; data logging, conditioning, and plotting
· Fabrication experience using typical shop tools and materials
