About the Role:
We are seeking a high-performing Finance intern to support the establishment and operations of our venture capital arm at Orange Bloom (OB). This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure across the entire investment lifecycle, from deal sourcing to portfolio management, in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist Chief Investment Officer in the following areas: -
1. Deal Sourcing Management
- Identify and research promising startups and growth-stage companies across various sectors, particularly within the ESG space.
- Track emerging trends, markets, and technologies aligned with the fund's investment mandate.
2. Preliminary Assessment
· Arrange meetings and liaise with founders and senior management teams of startup companies.
· Request and obtain relevant information from startups and stakeholders to perform preliminary assessments of investment opportunities
3. Due Diligence
- Conduct detailed market research, competitive landscape analysis, and financial modeling.
- Support the evaluation of business models, unit economics, and founder profiles.
4. Deal Structuring
- Assist in analysing and structuring investment transactions.
- Evaluate term sheets and assist in this process that may involve liaising with different professional bodies.
5. Portfolio Support
- Provide support to existing portfolio companies through ad-hoc projects, industry benchmarking, and market research.
- Assist with performance tracking and reporting.
6. Presentation & Reporting
- Prepare investment memos, internal reports, and presentations for the Investment Committee.
- Maintain organized documentation and pipeline updates.
7. Other Supports
· Assist in minute-taking and circulation of meeting minutes.
· Attend and/or organize events, seminars, and conferences as required.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by management from time to time.
Requirements:
- Finance Candidate or Recent Graduate from finance program
- Relevant Experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or corporate finance is a bonus.
- Good Analytical Skills including Excel proficiency and basic financial modelling capabilities.
- Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to distil complex ideas.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset with a passion for technology, innovation, and startup ecosystems.
- Highly Proactive and able to thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment.
