Our client is an established company that is a strong player in the venture capital industry. In line with their business expansion, they are looking to bring on board a Legal Counsel to join their team in KL.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Exposure to a wide range of corporate and commercial projects, issues, and clients across different industries.
  • Dealing with a range of jurisdictions with different laws, regulatory structures, and business practices (inter alia, Malaysia, US, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Canada, and the offshore jurisdictions’ laws).
  • Advise and manage a wide range of corporate and capital markets transactions, including cross-border M&As, pre-IPO restructuring and financings, joint ventures, IPOs, and regulatory compliance matters of companies listed on Bursa, Nasdaq, and other foreign stock exchanges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the group’s compliance, risk management, regulatory, and governance functions, ensuring alignment with complex legal standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide expert legal advice and strategic support to senior management and affiliated companies, ensuring the group’s policies and procedures meet both local and international regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and manage high-impact legal risks and issues arising from business strategy and operations, offering innovative and practical solutions.
  • Ensure the meticulous maintenance, confidentiality, and accuracy of legal documents, registers, and statutory filings, with a focus on Nasdaq Stock Exchange compliance.
  • Design and implement advanced systems and procedures for effective legal compliance and governance management.
  • Manage and drive critical compliance and regulatory obligations to successful completion, ensuring that deadlines and strategic goals are met.

Key Requirements:

  • LL.B. with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in corporate compliance, regulatory affairs, or governance, gained at a reputable firm or in-house. Admission to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with extensive experience in managing compliance functions and advising senior management.
  • Deep knowledge of compliance, risk management, and regulatory matters, with a proven ability to analyze complex issues and develop strategic solutions.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, conflicts, and sudden changes, with a talent for distilling complex issues into actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of excellence in fast-paced environments, with the capability to work under pressure and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Superior judgment, quick learning capacity, and meticulous attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently, showing ownership and initiative.
  • Excellent drafting and vetting skills, with impeccable attention to detail. Fluency in Mandarin is highly desirable.

What will your typical day look like?

Joining our Treasury and Capital Markets team as an Analyst, you will work alongside Partners, Directors, and Managers to provide Financial Risk Management advice to Corporates, Banks, and Energy clients. Your role will involve working closely with our financial institution clients to understand their business needs, analyze their current processes, and recommend solutions that leverage our fintech solutions to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of clients' business processes, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and challenges within the financial sector.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and product managers, to design and implement technology solutions that meet the needs of our financial institution clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key liaison between them and our technical teams.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in fintech and financial services to propose innovative solutions.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of our product offerings by providing feedback from the field.
Requirements
  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree Holder, preferably in Financial Engineering, Applied Finance, Quantitative Finance, Banking, Business Analytics, or similar disciplines.
  • Basic knowledge of financial products such as forwards, futures, swaps, bonds, and options.
  • Proactive with the ability to deliver tasks on time.
  • Solid understanding of SQL & experience with at least one well-known RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, IBM DB2, MySQL.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting with Unix or Python.
  • Able to communicate well in English.
  • Highly committed and motivated to learn in the Financial Market.
  • Previous banking experience or knowledge of Treasury Products or Treasury Systems (Murex, Calypso, SunGard, etc.) will be an advantage.

We are currently seeking a Financial Analysis Senior Specialist to join our team in Fully Remote - Malaysia, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (MY-14), Malaysia (MY).

Financial Analysts gather and analyze financial data to facilitate decision-making and provide guidance to managers within the business. They make financial recommendations based on the data they have gathered and analysed. This includes information regarding past company performance against set metrics and cost management.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Extract data from financial reports to conduct financial and statistical analysis and identify financial discrepancies and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and controlling of expenditure by approving or denying requisitions based on whether the items are within budget.
  • Prepare a variety of financial reports based on the analysis results.
  • Conduct presentations related to findings and provide recommendations to the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Research and analyze costs of projects, departments, and future ventures to provide information and insights about expenses and determine profitability margins.
  • Conduct budget and expense analysis and report on variances ensuring that the projected budget is met and assisting with cost reduction initiatives.
  • Reconcile and review monthly account analysis for balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure budget & forecast variances are analysed and recommendations are made to correct or improve company performance.
  • Assist with input into the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Ensure key pieces of analysis are performed on areas of risk or opportunity within the business and that the financial levers are understood and communicated to the business together with clear recommendations.
  • Continuously review business initiatives to ensure that they meet the required profitability expectations.
  • Identify cost management opportunities (processes or expenses) for ensuring improved profitability and sustainable returns for the business.


Required Experience:

  • Degree in Finance / Commerce
  • At least 5 years in financial planning and analysis and business analysis within a multinational company
  • Comprehensive finance experience in a similar position in a related environment
  • Experience with accounting software

Supporting Region:

  • Australia – Will follow Malaysia working hours. May required to support Australia working hours if there’s urgent deliverables.
