Job DescriptionAbout the role
You'll lead research that shapes SEEK's product strategy across the APAC region, focusing on both candidate and hirer. This isn't just about running studies - you'll identify what we don't yet understand about our users and markets,then design and execute research that uncovers new opportunities and reduce strategic risks.
As a research leader, you'll mentor other researchers and designers while partnering closely with product, engineering, and other business teams to ensure customer insights drive real decisions.
- Shape strategy : Connect user needs to business goals through research that directly influences product roadmaps and market expansion decisions
- Lead complex research : Design and execute large-scale studies across SEEK's markets using the most appropriatemethods - interviews, surveys, usability testing, or mixed approaches
- Uplift research capability : Mentor researchers, designers and product managersand work with Research Operations to improve how we do research at scale
- Drive cross-team collaboration : Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and AI teams to ensure research findings translate into action
- Identify opportunities : Spot gaps in our understanding and design research that reveals new possibilities for growth
The Team
You'll join a 70-person research and design community that's passionate about understanding users and creating better experiences. As a Principal UX Researcher, you'll be part of the Candidate team. This is a collaborative environment where research findings shape real product decisions, and where you'll have the opportunity to influence how we approach research across SEEK.
QualificationsSkills and experience
- 8+ years conducting both qualitative and quantitative research with demonstrated impact on product decisions
- Degree in Psychology, HCI, Anthropology, Design, or equivalent experience
- Experience leading high-stakes research projects from question to recommendation
- Ability to take ambiguous challenges and create clear research plans
- Strong communication skills - you can present complex findings in ways that drive action
- Experience in consumer and/or business markets
- Bonus points for experience with UX metrics, competitive analysis, or workshop facilitation
