A senior product owner is responsible for leading the design process, creating user-centric interfaces, and developing financial products and services that are innovative, functional, and visually appealing while meeting the needs of customers and adhering to regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understanding customer needs: Conduct research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and preferences. Study industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement or areas where the bank can improve.
• Requirement gathering and product design: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements and objectives. Analyse existing processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements.
• Solution Design: Develop and design end-to-end customer journey that meets business requirements and customer needs. Work with technical teams to translate the requirements into technical specifications.
• Documentation: Develop detailed design specifications that include information on features, functionality, and user journey flow and user stories.
• Product Development and Delivery: Manage end-to-end development of the final product, ensuring that it meets the design specifications, functional requirements, regulatory requirements, and quality standard. Work closely with IT, testers, and project managers to identify dependencies and obstacles that need to be addressed and ensure the product delivery timeline is met.
• Product Validation: Participate in reviewing and validating the product during testing phase to ensure that all positive and exceptional scenarios are covered, and test results are as expected. Act as the bridge between testers and technical team on defects clarifications and in providing expectation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Serve as point of contact for business solutions inquiries and support.
• Monitoring and support: Monitor user feedback and behaviors through user research. Work closely with customer support and analytics team to monitor the product’s performance, identify areas for improvement and inform future iterations of the products. Work closely with the marketing team to promote the product in line with business strategy.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 8 years of professional banking experience or supporting Banking lndustry.
• Knowledge in IT security, BNM compliance and /or PayNet is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of the evolving digital landscape, technology, and paradigms.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing business solutions.
• Self-starter, fast learner and highly adaptable to new environment and cultures.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

Expectations of an UX Designer

• Provide clear direction and strong UX point of view working in cross-disciplinary teams that may include data, tech, marketing and creative stakeholders
• Have a hands-on approach to building thoughtful digital experiences from scratch
• Prepare design visualization for communicating research outcomes, design plans and specification documents for submission
• Be comfortable interfacing with client stakeholders, cultivating a good understanding of their business objectives, challenges and future ambitions.
• Produce designs and test specifications for new ideas
• Able to participate in design workshops for insights gathering
• Contribute and participate where necessary in the user experience activities at various stages of a project including: user personas and flows, interface design strategy, site map creation, wire-framing, and usability testing
• Consolidate research findings for report preparation
• Execute primary and secondary research for data gathering
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Minimum of 3 years delivering UX projects and strategies across a range of products and services
• An enthusiastic and creative problem solver who’s unafraid of doing things differently
• Have knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including website engineers, product managers, and designers
• Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop, mobile and app environments
• A deep understanding of visual and content design, and how it’s applied to improve clarity of communication.
• Fluent user of prototyping, design and mapping tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD
• Familiar with documentation and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Have knowledge of web-based technologies (HTML5, CSS and Javascript) and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions
• Experience working on Agile projects would be a plus

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work and process.
• Tools: Proficiency in Figma and Miro is required. Experience with other tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe XD, Mixpanel) is a plus.
• Skills: Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility standards. Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present and defend design decisions to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct user research activities to understand users' goals, behavior and needs
• Develop models of your users based on research findings, as well as models for other domain factors
• Define context scenarios and tell stories about ideal user experiences the team wants to achieve
• Describe product or system capabilities and requirements that support user's goals and tasks, and how successful interactions look like
• Design the overall structure and behavior of the system, information flows and workflows

About The Role
