Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Market Intelligence

- Create documents and analysis to support the earnings call preparation
- Collect from the BUs and consolidate market forecast data for the management to support strategic decisions
- Maintain the Corporate Strategic Marketing shared intranet folder with updated reports, white papers, and internal analyses categorized by Segment and Vertical.
- Coordinate regular team meetings and calls to align market insights and strategies across business units.
- Collaborate with external market data providers to review and interpret industry reports and trends.
- Drive and manage key internal processes
- Serve as a central point of contact between Corporate Strategic Marketing and BUs.
- Partner with PLM, Sales, and R&D teams to gather input and share strategic market assessments.
- Promote consistent methodologies for data collection and dissemination across functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Market Analytics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in market analysis, strategic marketing, business intelligence, or a similar function.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint); experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Prior experience in high-tech, optical/photonics, or industrial manufacturing sectors is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent time and project management skills; ability to prioritize effectively across multiple projects.
- Demonstrated initiative in proposing new methods for data analysis, graphical representation, and process optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with an openness to explore new solutions.
- Proficiency in building structured, repeatable market intelligence processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural, cross-functional, and global environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to convey insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.

About the Department
The Global Business Area Industrial Weighing, a key part of the Industrial Division’s growth, generates over 600 million USD in sales worldwide with industrial weighing solutions. This fast-growing Chemical and Metal, Polymer & Electronics (MPE) segments present significant revenue opportunities to be pursued systematically.
Purpose of the job:
This Research Intelligence role focuses on the Chemical and MPE segments, providing expert recommendations to support marketing and sales on customer insights, brand and product positioning, new product development, channel growth, and delivering insights to key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth analyses to understand segment requirements and pain points across the manufacturing value chain.
- Conduct interviews with internal and external experts to complement research and compile findings into reports within deadlines.
- Identify early trend-driven opportunities and risks by attending tradeshows, conferences, associations, and customer visits.
- Engage proactively with cross-functional teams and leadership to share findings, strategies, and implementation options.

Job Responsibilities
Server & System Administration: Manage and maintain global server infrastructure, including performance monitoring, backups, user ID and email administration, and server security. IT Security Management: Administer enterprise firewalls, VPNs, and antivirus systems; ensure secure network access and up-to-date security configurations in alignment with company policies. Cloud, Network & Data Centre Operations: Oversee installation, configuration, and support of cloud, network, and data centre equipment; proactively manage network traffic and coordinate with vendors for issue resolution. Telecommunication Support: Maintain voice communication systems and patch panels; ensure accurate documentation and collaborate with vendors for updates and troubleshooting. Global End-User Support & IT Coordination: Provide technical assistance to global offices, resolve IT issues, conduct basic training, manage hardware/software licenses, and support IT procurement and documentation.
Job Requirements
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and end-user support. Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Strong knowledge in Windows Active Directory, Office 365, VPNs, and AWS. Familiarity with Linux/Red Hat and scripting (CMD, PowerShell, Bash) is an advantage. Experience supporting in-house ERP systems. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional, SonicWall, or Cisco are beneficial. Good communication skills in English and Mandarin. To be considered for this role, the relevant rights to work in Malaysia are required. Candidates who require work pass need not apply.
Other Information:
This role follows U.S. public holidays to align with global operational needs. Occasional support for Malaysia-based colleagues working night shifts, particularly those handling U.S. operations. - Identify the gap of expectation and satisfaction of APC to influence business in proposing relevant action plans to continuously improve their shopping experience
- Key point of contact in dealing with research agency from project briefing, pitching, proposal evaluation, budget negotiation, research execution, internal co-ordination, progress monitoring, analysis and reporting that answers business and research objectives subject to requirement set in any of the business and research activities and may or may not involve in end-to-end activities in dealing with research agency.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge on principles, practices, analysis procedures and software of quantitative and qualitative market research

About the Department
The Global Business Area Industrial Weighing, a key part of the Industrial Division’s growth, generates over 600 million USD in sales worldwide with industrial weighing solutions. This fast-growing Chemical and Metal, Polymer & Electronics (MPE) segments present significant revenue opportunities to be pursued systematically.
Purpose of the job:
This Research Intelligence role focuses on the Chemical and MPE segments, providing expert recommendations to support marketing and sales on customer insights, brand and product positioning, new product development, channel growth, and delivering insights to key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth analyses to understand segment requirements and pain points across the manufacturing value chain.
- Conduct interviews with internal and external experts to complement research and compile findings into reports within deadlines.
- Identify early trend-driven opportunities and risks by attending tradeshows, conferences, associations, and customer visits.
- Engage proactively with cross-functional teams and leadership to share findings, strategies, and implementation options.
- Develop expertise in industrial weighing applications and solutions.
- Build internal Marketing and Sales knowledge by creating and delivering segment salesforce guidance packages, including training, sales presentations, value-selling guides, Go-to-Customer coaching, and on-site event support.
- Utilize internal and external networks to share trends, best practices, and contribute to knowledge initiatives.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Chemistry, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in marketing or market analysis roles within Chemical, Metal, Polymer, or Electronics manufacturing industries.
- Strong expertise in market research methodologies, data analysis, and strategic marketing.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Outstanding communication skills in English and Mandarin (both oral and written).
- Proven experience in customer-facing roles and cross-functional collaboration.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required.

What would you be doing:
- Customer Research: Assist the team by researching customer data to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to customer behaviour, usage patterns, and satisfaction levels across channels, platforms and touchpoints.
- Customer Strategy: Assist the team in the development and implementation of customer experience strategies, processes, and best practices.
- Service Solutions: Assist the team with designing service solutions from an end-users perspective to solve current experience gap and potential customer needs.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to drive initiatives aimed at improving customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identifying Opportunities: Assist the team with identifying opportunities for upsell and cross-sell to existing customers based on analysis of their usage and needs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- About 1 to 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, such as customer experience, account management, or customer support.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of driving customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
