Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Technical Sales Engineer located in Semenyih / Jeddah. The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, managing sales engineering tasks, and assisting with technical sales. Day-to-day tasks include developing sales strategies, communicating with clients to understand their needs, and offering solutions through our robotics and engineering services. The role aims to strengthen customer relationships and drive sales growth.

Technical Sales Engineer
Job Purpose
The Sales Professional contribute to the achievement of sales objectives by prospecting his/her market and/or driving the Distribution network, if necessary. Benchmark and analyse customer needs by providing advice and/or technical communication and respecting the sales process in order to verify SECO products and services. Follow the files in studies and participate in the implementation at the customers. The Technical Sales Engineer reports to the Market/Sales Manager of the country
Main activities
Drive metal-cutting tooling sales growth within established customer accounts. Promote and sell the organization’s product and services. Manage and provide technical expertise, cultivate strong customer relationships, and enhance productivity and savings for top clients. Thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a keen understanding of CNC machining, milling, and lathe applications, and excel at problem-solving and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and nurture established customer relationships to ensure retention and loyalty.
- Grow market share within assigned customer accounts by identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Monitor account activity closely to ensure all sales goals are met and exceeded.
- Develop new business opportunities with high potential customers within the territory.
- Conduct regular visits to assigned customer accounts to introduce new products, promote existing offerings, and address any concerns or inquiries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, providing timely assistance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Collaborate with Account Development or Sales Team to capitalize on opportunities.
- Create and present compelling proposals for new business opportunities, leveraging a deep understanding of our products/services and customer needs.
- Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, maintain accurate records, and facilitate effective communication with customers and internal teams.
- Provide technical expertise on products, including product lifecycle management and customer cost-saving initiatives.
- Establish annual, quarterly, monthly or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and industry developments to continuously enhance customer productivity and satisfaction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to support existing accounts and secure new business opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the machining industry.
- Strong business acumen to comprehend key customers, distribution partners, and competitors within the assigned territory.
- Experience with structured sales processes, professional selling skills, and strategic selling methodologies preferred. Candidates with strong technical and industry expertise willing to learn sales processes and techniques are also encouraged to apply.
- Highly self-motivated individual with a solid understanding of the metal-cutting industry.
- Experience working in a CNC environment, including programming, engineering, and product design.
- Ideally located within the area of responsibility for this position.
- Previous experience as a metal-cutting salesperson preferred but not required.
- High aptitude for time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional competency in CNC machining.
- Ability to establish new customer relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Positive attitude and a team player willing to contribute to the improvement of their territory.

Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a Senior/ Technical Sales Engineer that understands customer needs in providing technical support and crafts winning proposals in support of sales strategies with the help of team members and technology experts.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Will be part of Global Technical Sales team led by Technical Sales Director
- Responsible for generating proposals independently most of the time working with guidance from Technical Sales Director
- Study customer’s specifications: review, interpret, understand, and identify bid requirements.
- Prepare complete deliverables for the full technical proposal producing simulations, material balance and utility requirements, Process Flow Diagrams, equipment sizing and design, Capital Cost Estimation
- Attend customer proposal review meetings as needed, presenting the technical details as required.
- Support Licensing Front sales team based in APAC with technical inputs for customer sales visits and travel with them as and when needed.
- To adhere strictly to the company and national ESH regulations and operational procedures
- To contribute development of environmentally friendly products and solutions
- To participate and contribute to consultation process in health and safety related activities, where applicable
- To report all ESH potential and actual incidents to line manager or site ESH manager
- To help prevent and report any environmental and health and safety violations in the workplace

Education requirements:

- Proficient with process simulation and design software’s like PROII, HYSYS, Aspen Plus etc.
- The ideal candidate has relevant experience in process design and is passionate about technology, customer relationships, and results.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, Fluent in English, Chinese is a plus
- Good presentation and influencing skills.

Job DescriptionA Day in the Life of as Technical Sales Engineer:
- Delivers an extraordinary customer experience by technically advising customers on TE products,services, and capabilities to best meet the needs of the customer and the designs they are working on. Sells the value propositions of TE Connectivity products and services.
- Outbound calling (cold and warm) to establish new, high-quality opportunities with prospective customers and contacts.
- Communicate with end customers via various channels such as telephone, email and chat (inbound inquiries) to resolve technical questions and propose options and solutions.
- Liaison with internal support areas including production, sales, engineering, customer care and others as necessary to resolve customer inquiries and requests.
- Nurture and grow small and medium customers pipeline opportunities via Salesforce through regular touch points with end customer.
- Work with TE franchised distributors to provide quotations and order fulfillment.
- Promote TE portfolio of products to drive revenue.
