Technical Product Owner

to lead our platform development efforts, ensuring our services are scalable, secure, and easy to integrate. You will manage a team of technical developers and testers, oversee the platform backlog, and deliver features that enhance interoperability and data collaboration for cargo community users. Responsibilities Own and manage the platform product backlog, prioritising based on business and technical needs. Translate platform vision into clear, actionable technical requirements. Manage and guide technical developers and testers to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. Collaborate with engineering teams to design APIs, integrations, and scalable services. Ensure platform features meet security, performance, and compliance standards. Coordinate with other product teams to support seamless cross-service integration. Gather feedback from internal and external users to drive continuous improvement. Requirements Proven experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager in a platform or SaaS environment. Strong technical background in APIs, integrations, and cloud-based architectures. Experience managing technical developers and testers in an Agile/Scrum environment. Familiarity with data collaboration, security, and interoperability standards. Excellent communication skills to bridge business and technical perspectives. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.

Job Description

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
• At least 3 - 5 years of experience in Product Management, Project Management or Technology Consulting. Fresh graduates with technical degrees (Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering etc) are encouraged to apply.
• Prior experience in the e-commerce, food delivery or fintech industry is a plus
• Independent in drawing wireframes, crafting BRDs and designing test cases in a product capacity
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
• Well verse in both English and Malay, both written and verbal. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus
• Has strong passion in the eCommerce, food delivery or fintech industry
• Highly goal-driven, resourceful and able to work well independently in dynamic environments

About The Role

You will be responsible and accountable for one or more TECH product solutions that support and influence business objectives for stakeholders within AIA. This role requires you to manage the product lifecycle and delivery, while effectively communicating and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups—including internal IT teams, third-party vendors, and senior business leadership.

Success in this role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a complex environment, and excellent interpersonal abilities. You will play a key role in ensuring that product outcomes are aligned with overall company goals.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Product Management
• Own and drive the success of IT product(s) that support business strategy, including planning and maintaining a product roadmap aligned with overall business objectives. Focus on delivering high-quality, innovative features and enhancements.
• Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams—including IT, business units, and third-party vendors—throughout the entire product delivery lifecycle to ensure alignment with business goals. Lead project management efforts when required.
• Engage and influence business stakeholders to prioritize product demands in alignment with software engineering teams.
• Oversee end-to-end system implementation and execution, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
• Develop detailed product specifications (e.g., UI/UX designs, functional specification documents) in collaboration with internal and external IT stakeholders to guide and prioritize delivery efforts.
• Lead end-to-end testing activities, including user coordination, feedback management, and functional validation.
• Support the development of business cases related to your product scope, with an understanding of the financial impact of proposed initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the success of product launches, including conducting post-launch reviews and performance tracking.
• Stakeholder Management
• Manage, optimize, and prioritize business demands in alignment with value generation and available resource capacity, working closely with heads of business units.
• Build, negotiate, and influence strong relationships with senior leadership and managers across divisions to ensure delivery of credible and consistent solution services.
• Manage and influence relationships with vendors, business partners, and Group IT to enable flexible and effective delivery outcomes.
• Strategic Planning
• Formulate and define the long- and mid-term strategic plans for the unit, ensuring alignment with IT and business priorities across the assigned portfolio(s).
• Identify, develop, and nurture strong leadership and high-performing individual contributors to build a capable team that effectively supports business demands.
• Lead and influence a culture of cost-efficient, agile, and flexible delivery of IT solutions, while upholding governance standards.
• Establish and implement policies, procedures, standards, and best practices to drive a center of excellence for IT solution delivery.
• People Development & Management
• Lead, attract, and retain high-quality individual contributors to build strategic and operational capabilities that are sustainable by:
• Setting clear direction and goals, and engaging team members to translate these into actionable outcomes.
• Developing leaders and high performers through targeted learning and development initiatives.
• Promoting a mindset focused on effective, high-quality processes.
• Manage and optimize resource planning and utilization to maximize output in support of business demands.
• Coach and mentor team members to strengthen both technical and soft skills required for successful execution.
• Drive team performance and individual development plans in alignment with the overall IT strategic direction.
  

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• 7–8 years of experience in IT Product Management or Software Engineering, with 5–8 years in a supervisory role within the supported IT domain.
• Proven experience in executing IT projects, with strong expertise in system applications, data management, and technology implementation.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with middle and senior management, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Preferably possesses domain knowledge in insurance business operations, including familiarity with distribution channel models.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders.

About The Role

As a Digital Product Consultant, you will take end-to-end ownership of digital products, applications, and platforms within a designated business channel at AIA. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and complex environment.

You will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across all levels of the organization. • Communicate product updates and developments to cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring alignment across business users and end-users. Coordinate with Helpdesk and Planning teams to ensure effective communication and readiness for product-related inquiries.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in digital technology, including 3–5 years of hands-on experience in web, application, or technical product management—ideally within the insurance, design, user experience, or computing domains.
• Strong grasp of digital innovation, with the ability to translate vision and ideas into practical solutions within existing constraints. Must be comfortable working hands-on in technical environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of the product management lifecycle, as well as best practices in web and application development.
• Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with various development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and a working knowledge of standard software development practices.

• Support the team in exploring and identifying technologies that support the learning strategy, meet business needs, and achieve specific goals
• Manage limited budget and resources at the global level in partnership with regional teams
• Guide on the technological feasibility of settings, features, and solutions
• Build learning experiences according to the defined LMS/LXP standards

• Communicate and test software updates and vendor tool updates regularly
• Participate in quality assurance reviews and usability testing

• Manage requirements definition and design activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and partner with technical teams for solution development
• Participate in project management processes
• Provide guidance for testing efforts and scenarios
• Maintain communication with regional LMS/LXP teams to ensure alignment and innovation for long-term solutions
• Stay current with emerging technologies that can enhance online learning
• Engage in networking activities across departments to share best practices and innovations

What you need is:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience with learning platforms, technology, or learning and development
• Knowledge of educational technology tools and systems
• Experience integrating learning tools, building online courses, and testing technological solutions
• Effective time management skills for multiple projects
• Proficiency with software applications like Adobe Creative Suite
• Professional, organized, and reliable
• Critical thinking skills to improve user experience
• Ability to produce error-free work in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Passion for digital learning and eagerness to learn and grow
