UWCSEA Dover Campus seeks an experienced Tennis Coach to join our team from February 2026.
As a key member of the Phoenix Coaching team, the Tennis Coach will play an integral role in designing and delivering a comprehensive tennis programme. This includes Competitive Team Tennis, the Phoenix Squad, development pathways, Junior School programmes, and adult tennis initiatives. The role involves working collaboratively with the coaching team to support players of all ages and abilities in achieving their full potential.
Main ResponsibilitiesCOMPETITION COACHING
- Assisting with the coaching of school teams (U11, U14, U19) and Phoenix squads. Contribute towards the yearly plan, subsequent seasonal, weekly and daily lesson plans.
- Involvement in planning and running competitions for our school team players and phoenix squads.
- Involved in assessment and feedback of all competitive players - including physical, mental, technical and tactical, providing a learning pathway and consistent feedback to players and parents throughout the year.
DEVELOPMENT COACHING
- Working closely with the Head of active for life - Tennis to assist with developing the yearly plan, subsequent seasonal, weekly and daily lesson plans for all development coaching to ensure a smooth transition of tennis players from the mini and junior development programme into the competitive tennis team.
- Involved in developing an assessment tool and regular feedback for development players.
- Able to lead red ball and development lessons( orange to yellow) with support from the coaching team.
- Able to coach adult lessons with support from the coaching team.
- Leading assistant coaches, to ensure they are maintaining a high level of coaching.
- Conduct coaching during term holiday courses.
- Adult coaching including ladies teams, cardio tennis, development coaching and tournaments.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with maintaining the tennis court facilities and equipment
- Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College
- Tennis qualifications- USPTA, ITF, RPT or equivalent with experience in development and competitive coaching
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience. Experience in a school environment would be advantageous
- An appropriate approach to age-group training (LTAD) focusing on the College Skill & Qualities, technical competence, motivation, enjoyment, team-building and long-term success
- Strong organisational skills, including a working knowledge of sports tournament and programme organisation at a high performance level
- A commitment to a holistic education and to the mission of the school
- An ability to develop relationships based on mutual respect and able to inspire our players

Education / Professional Certification
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science, Physical Education and/or Professional Certificate with:
- The American Council on Exercise (ACE)
- National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
- National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
- Federation of International Sports, Aerobic, and Fitness (FISAF)
Experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience with clients from various backgrounds and different health conditions including physical chronic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes;

- Passionate or willing to learn about healthy living, motivational interviewing, and interdisciplinary health care;

- Conduct fitness and physical health care processes for the members digitally (primarily through text-based coaching);

- Review daily progress of members and provide feedback as physical health education and monitoring;
- Work with other coaches from other disciplines within Naluri through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to come up with the best customised plan that fits the members;
- Develop lesson content, coaching methods, and training materials;
- Plan and conduct fitness and health related training programmes, talks, webinars, and workshops to client;
- Attend client on-site events to promote the Naluri app, engage with members, and support them in getting started on their health coaching journey through the platform;
- Plan and run exercise or group classes at client on-site events.

- Surveillance over multiple workcells, collect feedback from Lean Coach and propose improvements to process owners
- Seek and value feedback from the team and provide timely help if needed
- Support the Plant LSS Manager to drive actions which will improve Lean Index Assessment score
- Ensure Program and Cultural Sustainability
- Develop and mentor multiple workcell leaders to facilitate and lead Kaizen Events
- Support Lean Six Sigma Managers to propose and develop a strategies
- Anticipate and meet/exceed customer expectations by solving problems timely and effectively
- Provide statistical problem solving analysis
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security and ethics policies
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Track record showing continual improvement of personal skills
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Understand and practice the Lean principles, methodologies and tools
- Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Be expert in lean tools and processes to coordinate and share knowledge on a regional and global scale
