Job Description

**In this role, you're expected to:**
Your role as a Tax & Financial Reporting Supervisor will be to prepare and review tax, financial and other regulatory reporting for our superannuation fund and managed investment trust clients. Core to this role is ensuring high quality, accurate and timely reporting with an exceptional level of attention to detail. This will involve an ability to analyze and resolve operational issues.
Your challenge will be to support continuous process improvement and collaborate with internal stakeholders on technology developments to meet business and client expectations.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Preparation of business activity financial statements, distribution calculations and tax returns
+ Preparation of financial statements, APRA and ABS regulatory reporting
+ Reconciliation of accounting to taxable income
+ Perform other daily and monthly activities as required adhering strictly to established procedures, controls and checklist
+ Review & resolve aging break items and breaks over a certain dollar threshold
+ Review and update procedures & controls
+ Provide back-up coverage for team members and assist team members during high volume periods
+ Drive and contribute towards process improvement
+ Provide solutions to mitigate errors and to ensure adherence to audit and control policies
+ Support Manager in monthly team planning, coordination and resourcing
+ Assist the team manager in audit queries, client queries, and risk related items
+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
**As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:**

The opportunity
EY’s FSO tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the asset management industry. You would join our tax professionals who are knowledgeable and experienced with varied and specialized facets of hedge fund, private equity fund and mutual fund taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax compliance, and on-call advice. Your key responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients,focusing on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives
- You’ll combine our standard global compliance processes and tools with your local compliance and accounting experience to provide clients visibility and control of their domestic and/or global compliance and reporting requirements.
- Make sure that the work delivered to the client is of high quality.
- Anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Help to create a positive learning culture, coaching and counselling junior team members to help them develop professionally and personally as an influential member of the team
- Participate in engagements, assist in managing engagement economics by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders
- Participate in business development initiatives and build strong internal relationships within the business tax compliance team and across other services.

EY’s FSO tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the asset management industry. You would join our tax professionals who are knowledgeable and experienced with varied and specialized facets of hedge fund, private equity fund and mutual fund taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax compliance, and on-call advice. We'll help you develop the skills you need for a successful career, and support and encourage you to become a recognised leader in the tax profession.
Your key responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients,focusing on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives
- You’ll combine our standard global compliance processes and tools with your local compliance and accounting experience to provide clients visibility and control of their domestic and/or global compliance and reporting requirements.
- Make sure that the work delivered to the client is of high quality.
- Anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Help to create a positive learning culture, coaching and counselling junior team members to help them develop professionally and personally as an influential member of the team
- Participate in engagements, assist in managing engagement economics by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders
- Participate in business development initiatives and build strong internal relationships within the business tax compliance team and across other services.

To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in tax compliance or a related field, ideally with experience working in a professional services setting.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience working in the financial services sector
